That being said it can do laps all day long and never break a sweat. The Aston will have overheat issues long before the cat runs out of gas. The Aston was built in a colder crappy weather place. Put it in a warmer climate to live and it won't take long before running hot becomes an issue. Hellcat was born in and for a hotter environment it is way more prepared for the conditions. Oh ya did someone mention 100k cheaper. But if someone said pick one for free it would be the cush of the Aston. It's gorgeous and still kind of a beast. The Viper in general has always been that shining beacon in regards to track racing out of the US made cars, Corvette C5-R aswell of course though less thanks to GM and more Pratt & Miller for putting that together.

    • The people who dis on Dodge just don't know how to drive one. They expect engineers to make cars that practically drive themselves. When American muscle cars were designed they were made for skilled racers to reach the limits of their skill. Acceleration and holding top speed was the primary goal. Definitely not for casual drivers. If you want a casual driving car don't buy an American muscle car.

      @LeadStarDude@LeadStarDude Жыл бұрын
    • @@LeadStarDude Muscle cars were definitely not 'made' for experienced racers, they were made for weekend warriors heading to the dragstrip for fun. There's a reason why the entire 'race on Sunday, sell on Monday' shtick was touted by the vast majority of American manufacturers during the 60's and 70's. On top of that, the entire body-in-white, COPO and F/X programs they had. Outside of the GT40, Daytona Coupé and Corvettes, they tended to not really give a shit about handling.

      @Arcticun@Arcticun Жыл бұрын
    • You're correct Jeep. I've taken multiple courses at the Bondurant school in Arizona, in narrow and widebody Challenger Hellcat 6-speeds. They handle well enough that most people will never get to the limit. And they don't break while being beaten mercilessly for months on end. That Aston would explode on the first track day of six hours. Hellcats do 8,000 to 10,000 miles before being sent back to Dodge - running perfectly well. I bought a Hellcat after learning that they can take that kind of punishment. Five years later and it has needed nothing - except gasoline.
