    @Deepa-Shorashi1895@Deepa-Shorashi18954 ай бұрын
    • While the video may showcase some creative and resourceful approaches to plumbing issues, it's important to note that plumbing work can vary in complexity, and not all solutions may be suitable for every situation. Some of the techniques demonstrated may be unconventional or temporary fixes. For DIY enthusiasts, it's generally recommended to follow standard plumbing practices and safety guidelines. Complex plumbing problems or installations are best left to professional plumbers who have the expertise and experience to handle them properly. DIY projects should prioritize safety and compliance with local building codes. If you have specific plumbing questions or concerns, it's always a good idea to consult with a licensed plumber who can provide tailored advice based on your unique situation.

    @MarceloSilva-xn8uc@MarceloSilva-xn8uc6 ай бұрын
    • Fico muito feliz que tenha gostado do vídeo, e agradeço pela nota 10! Quanto à sua pergunta, fazer remendos em tubulações de chumbo em casas antigas pode ser um desafio. Tubulações de chumbo são menos comuns hoje em dia devido a preocupações com a segurança da água potável, pois o chumbo pode se dissolver na água e causar problemas de saúde. A melhor abordagem seria substituir as tubulações de chumbo por materiais mais seguros, como cobre ou PVC. Essa é uma tarefa que geralmente requer um profissional de encanamento devido à complexidade e à necessidade de garantir que a substituição seja feita corretamente e esteja em conformidade com os regulamentos de saúde e segurança. Se você estiver preocupado com tubulações de chumbo em sua casa antiga, é aconselhável consultar um encanador licenciado que possa avaliar a situação e recomendar a melhor abordagem para a substituição segura dessas tubulações.

    @johnrledrew@johnrledrew6 ай бұрын
    • It's important to note that the video demonstrates unconventional and creative DIY plumbing techniques. These methods may not meet professional plumbing standards, and they are meant for entertainment and educational purposes. While they can be interesting to watch and might work in certain situations, it's essential to approach them with caution. In professional plumbing, certain standards and best practices are followed to ensure the longevity and safety of plumbing installations. Using a toilet flange and rubber/wax seal is a standard method for securing toilets to the floor, preventing leaks, and creating a watertight seal. Sealing the toilet base is generally not recommended in professional plumbing for the reasons you mentioned. It's essential to rely on licensed and experienced plumbers for plumbing work to ensure that the work is done correctly and meets safety and quality standards. These DIY techniques might be useful in a pinch but should not replace professional plumbing services for important projects.

    @michelealdworth9297@michelealdworth92972 ай бұрын
    • You're absolutely right, traditionally, installing a toilet requires a wax ring to create a watertight seal between the toilet flange and the toilet. However, there are newer technologies available that offer alternative sealing methods!

      @tipsunknow@tipsunknow2 ай бұрын
  • I'm not sure about caulk under a toilet like that, especially on a wood floor. You'd never know if you have a bad wax seal until your floor leaks to a finished ceiling below. Not criticizing it, just saying.

    @rumple4skin140@rumple4skin14012 күн бұрын
    • You bring up a valid concern. Caulking around the base of a toilet, especially on a wood floor, can indeed make it difficult to detect leaks from the wax seal. This can potentially lead to water damage, particularly if the leak goes unnoticed for an extended period. It's generally recommended to leave a small gap around the base of the toilet to allow for early detection of leaks. However, if caulk is used, it should be applied carefully to ensure it doesn't completely seal the base and hinder leak detection. Thank you for bringing attention to this important aspect of toilet installation. It's essential to consider both aesthetics and functionality to avoid potential issues in the future.

  • for what the baking soda? why not only use superglue and styropor?

    @romanoschwabel3716@romanoschwabel37163 ай бұрын
    • Baking soda is a versatile household substance that serves various purposes, particularly in the context of home projects and repairs. Superglue (cyanoacrylate adhesive) and styrofoam are also useful materials, but they have different properties and applications. Here are some common uses for each: Baking Soda: Cleaning: Baking soda is often used as a mild abrasive cleaner for surfaces, sinks, and appliances. Deodorizing: It can help eliminate odors in refrigerators, carpets, and shoes. Cooking: Baking soda is a leavening agent in baking, helping dough rise. Fire Extinguisher: Baking soda can be used to smother small fires. Superglue: Bonding: Superglue creates a strong, instant bond between various materials. Repairs: It is commonly used for fixing broken items, including ceramics, plastics, and small metal parts. Crafts: Superglue is suitable for bonding materials in craft projects. Styrofoam: Insulation: Styrofoam is often used as an insulating material. Packaging: It is commonly used in packaging for protecting delicate items. Crafts: Styrofoam is a lightweight material suitable for crafting and model building. While all these materials have their uses, they are not interchangeable in every situation. The choice depends on the specific requirements of the task at hand. For example, if you need to bond two surfaces together quickly and securely, superglue may be appropriate. If you are looking for a cleaning agent, baking soda could be the better choice. Always consider the properties and intended purpose of each material for the task you are undertaking.

    • You're absolutely correct. The first method described does not seem safe or appropriate for maintaining water pressure. Plumbers and professionals in related fields are trained to adhere to strict safety standards and building codes to ensure the integrity and reliability of plumbing systems. Any makeshift or unauthorized modifications to plumbing systems can lead to leaks, bursts, and potentially catastrophic damage. It's crucial to consult with a licensed plumber or professional contractor for any plumbing work. They have the knowledge and expertise to assess the situation properly, determine the appropriate materials and techniques, and ensure that all work is done safely and in compliance with relevant regulations. Cutting corners or attempting DIY fixes in plumbing can result in costly repairs and pose serious risks to property and safety.

    • First, gather your materials: rubber bands and chewing gum. Cut a small piece of chewing gum and roll it into a thin strip. Wrap the chewing gum strip around one end of the pipe where you want to make a connection. Secure the chewing gum in place by wrapping several rubber bands tightly around the chewing gum and the pipe. Repeat the process for the other end of the pipe you want to connect. Once both ends are securely wrapped, turn on the water and hope for the best! Of course, this method is highly unreliable and likely to fail spectacularly. It's much better to use proper plumbing connections and tools to ensure a safe and leak-free water system.
