Wilfred Zaha in talks over West Ham Transfer | Hammers planning for next season under Lopetegui
West Ham United are reportedly in talks to bring Wilfried Zaha back to the Premier League, as discussions between the club and his representatives continue. Zaha, the former Crystal Palace star, has been on West Ham's radar before, but now, with Julen Lopetegui's arrival as manager and a significant squad overhaul expected, Zaha could be the first big signing of the new era.
Rumor has it that Zaha's representatives recently flew to England for discussions with West Ham officials, meeting no other clubs during their visit. His social media post featuring an hourglass emoji has fans speculating that a move to West Ham could be on the horizon.
Despite limited playing time at Galatasaray, Zaha's impressive track record in the Premier League, with 68 goals and 29 assists over 305 appearances, makes him a prime target for Lopetegui. Teaming up with the likes of Mohammed Kudus, Jarrod Bowen, and a new striker could transform West Ham's attacking potential.
In this video, we analyse how Zaha would fit into the team, the challenges of his potential Premier League return, and what this move could mean for the Hammers' ambitions.

Gonzo. Let’s have the other 7 minutes. Enjoyed your open honest views and totally agreed. We know who we are ⚒️. Many thanks
People forget we also need squad depth. We are bare bones and zaha would work well
Agree⚒
Zaha but ONLY at a very good price , Striker at the tail end of his career.....How very Sullivan.
Get Saha as squad player but injuries seem to be creeping into his game last two seasons
Unpopular opinion - I’m sick of Paqueta’s attitude and will be happy to see him go
You're not alone mate. Soon as I see him Vs City go straight over to their bench and shake hands with Pep Guardiola I had enough of the guy
Definitely would be happy with Zaha for a couple of seasons. I’d love to see Downes come back into the team for next season and Ben Johnson get a new contract. Both young prospects and solid squad players.
We could of had Zaha last summer for free but MOYSE didn't want him.
Moyes is gone now mate stop stressing over him. What's done is done. Time to look forward.
Well if the rumours were to believed and Zaha smashed Moyes daughter.... Zaha was not going to be an option
Even fleas avoided moyes 😅😅😅
@@philwill0123 apparently that story is BS - someone out there stirring the pot so to speak
@@garino881 what ever the animosity, there definitely was one to not even consider Zaha
LOVED your rant, Gonzo! Thank you for speaking up for the supporters.
Feels like 3 seasons too late 😆 but he's done well in Turkey and would fit Loppys tactics well if the analytical insight from Cal is to be believed (I do believe it 100%). Nice to have you smiling again Gonzo ⚒️❤️ EDIT** Be interested to see what your opinion on Potts is Gonzo, had a great season at Wycombe (player of the season for them). Would be cool to see a vid tier list kind of thing for the youth team. Something like "Get them in the match day squad" "get them out on loan" "keep them in the academy" "Let them go". Dunno just an idea 😁
These tactical analysis is bs mate. I watched a video in January how Kalvin Phillips was gonna be a great signings 🤣🤣😂
Tier list of the youth players would be great!
I thought Potts looked really good in the summer but aye we had Moyes who never wanted to play him. Glad he went out on loan. Looks like the next best youth coming out of the accdenmy
Look at his injuries over last 18 months
Also it covers us for the homegrown player situation English quota
Doesn’t he need to represent England to be classed as home grown ?
Nope just brought through english acadamies@@dannymmahoney6403
Zaha /Kudus & Bowen front 3 sounds so fun tho.
Those 3 behind a CF (Samu, Solanke or Toney) and push MA right back. Sign Philip Billing or Andy Diouf to play next to Alvarez. Sign Kilman to replace Aguerd. Areola Antonio Mavropanos Kilman Emerson Alvarez Billing Kudus Zaha Bowen Toney Sign enough attacking talent and gain Antonio as a RB. Antonio could be coached into an elite RB imo. Like Dumfries at Inter Milan.
Gonzo, I’ve noticed that they don’t even mention us on Match of the day. Lineker just hates us. I guess he decides more or less what’s discussed.
For the best really.
What's to discuss? We get smashed 5-0, we hardly going to get plaudits. Don't think that's a lineker thing, literally all you will hear would be 3 pundits calling us trash. And rightly so.
Classic David sullivan brown envelope signing !!!!
He’s a really dynamic player , defenders nightmare, comes with baggage but I like him
Enjoyed your rant yesterday Legend Gonzo
I'd much prefer giving Cornet a solid run. Theres definitely a decent player in him but his confidence is just shot to pieces. Could do without seeing the typical Zaha response of 👁👁 everytime something happens to him 😂
Always enjoy yours and Geo's videos Gonzo. Very informative and enjoyable. Your rant yesterday? I totally agreed with you. COYI ⚒️⚒️⚒️
Zaha a yes from me, we need a squad blend of youth and experience talent and grafters
Who is to say we can't do both getting zaha in and a younger player like silva after all we need 2 players for each position
Zaha and Toney, I'd be very happy with that! who needs defence we'll be out scoring everyone
I agree with everything you said in yesterday's video Gonzo. Sod the main stream media.
His wages will make this a bad deal. He isnt the man of four years ago. We havent learnt from Ings, Philips etc. If we can get him on a free and £80k a week fine, any more than that and it sets a poor precedent for our transfer dealings this summer.
Zaha is without question a good buy (as long as the price is relatively okay). He has the experience and bite/mentality we are missing & he strikes me as someone who could easily perform until 35 as he doesn't have the injury history or physique of someone like Antonio. Kudus, Bowen and Zaha would be a defence nightmare. Pretty sure the fans would come to adore Zaha.
Imagine Bowen, Kudus, Zaha; Toney. Its a football manager like line up
Be quality that!!
Nice one Gonzo ..tell us what happ ref "who wont have you on their channel "? Really enjoyed Charlie and Cals explanation yesterday why Loppy is here ? It makes sense to me Am alot more positive now !
Salthouse back in the building eh? It's not awful but I hope this is a one off to get some experience in.
Gonzo , I really enjoy listening to your analysis - thank you .
No thanks we can do better
Zaha is a real gent
I’m not excited by it. It would be like Charlton signing Mark Noble. You can never erase the history. Zaha is a Palace player, always has been, always will be. I want players that are hungry to make their name as West Ham players.
Zaha is a professional
Would love to have zaha and well said I agree with your rant from yesterday top man gonzo 👍👍👍👍👍
With the amount of free kicks zaha wins - just imagine if we had a good set piece taker
Proper wind up player like Antonio (on his day) , good for squad depth. Let’s be having you Willy Willy Zaha⚒️⚒️⚒️
No thanks to Zaha Gonzo, as you say, he's a pain in the 'arris playing against us. But he's one step away from a 2 week absence due to a hamstring issue every other week. I just saw that Moyes has been signed-up by Talk Sport for the Euros. Since it was announced he was leaving, I had a feeling we might hear his dulcet tones as a pundit during the Euros. Espousing how football ought to be played, 15% possession, ultra low block tactics and no subs before the 89th minute. Oh, and no more than 2 subs in any game, and the players coming on must not be specialists in the position they are replacing.
Coufal owned him plenty of times
Good addition to the squad, depending on the price due to his age
Palace fan here. Would hate to see Wilf play for you but tbh he wouldn't get into our team atm and makes sense to play for a club in London due to his family and commitments. However It's really not how he saw his career going as he had much bigger aspirations. Quite sad for him how it may turn out.
Nice trolling fella
Apparently the Kudus clause can't be activated until summer 2025
Far too old, better/younger options out there surely?
Bring it on, Zaha is a menace
So we're moving backwars, Pellegrini 2.0 in and we're back to bringing in old has beens playing in farmer's leagues. All we need now is Emenike up front and Carlos Sanchez holding the midfield.
Pellegrini 2.0 would not be a bad thing. Pellegrini is a brilliant manager and has proven it since being fired. It's up to the club to give the new person time.
We need 10+ players and some may have to be cheap in fee and experience. We will be moving on Antonio, ings, cresswell and ogbonna. That's a lot of experience
@@williambuckley5601 You need to give your head a wobble. Pellegrini was tactically inept. It tooks us getting thumped every game for weeks for him to realise that Wilshere and Noble as holding midfielders was a disaster because they offered no defensive abilities. He blindly kept trying to play his old tactics that clearly weren't working. He ought to be criminally charged for signing and contininuing to play Roberto in goal, one of the worst goal keepers I've ever seen in the league, ever. He got us 10th in his first season and was well on track to get us relegated in his second season. Anyone who wants a repeat of that is absolutely insane.
Pellegrini 2.0. I'm nicking that. Similar in that Sullivan went for a name.
@@williambuckley5601 In what way has he proved it? We were so easy to play against under Pellegrini. He struggled without world class players at his disposal.
We are going to need to see this seven minutes!!
Our squad can be thin next year with no Europe, but we need to use the bench we have. I have always liked Zaha and would love to have him at a good price.
I’d be happy if it’s a 2 year deal, but not if it’s any longer. Year 1 he can show Wesley Gassova all his tricks, year 2 he can sub on late so we can applaud Wesley off the pitch after another brilliant performance! :p
I think he has a place in this side even at 30-31 he could still have 2-3 years in him which will get us in a better place with new manager as well It’ll come down to personalities it always does - no doubting his talents and has been a thorn in our sides on many occasions be nice if he did the same for us for a change and we’ve wasted money on many others who haven’t worked out but Zaha does have EPL experience so seems a much better option than INGS CORNET VLASIC etc
I’d have him in a heartbeat if it adds depth as I feel we suffered in from the new year on after losing formals, benni and downes ⚒️⚒️
LOVE Zaha! Really seriously talented footballer and fun to watch. Like Ronaldo he has bags of talent and is uber fit for 31 - we could get a good three years out of him. Zaha, Kudus, Bowen would be a fun, goal-laden front three.
We definitely need a player like that. I was hoping we'd be looking at Philogene from Hull as a younger prospect. Bit worried about shelf life with Zaha. But I wouldn't be disappointed at all.
If we sign Zaha and that Wesley kid from Brazil, I think we’d be covered in that wing for a while
Zaha is too good a player to turn down although 31,him on the left Bowen right Kudus through the centre is dangerous
Would much rather go all out and get Wesley from Corinthians, very exciting left winger
Why not both. We need more then 8 players.
Feel that with a new manager cornet and benrahma need a fresh start, but bringing in zaha gives us rotation in front positions, would be a descent front line with zaha on the left, Bowen on the right, Antonio up front and kudus top of the diamond, then cornet and benrahma as impact subs or vice versa. Think we need a clear out of some midfield positions, I would send Philips back, look at getting some money for soucek, downes, maybe either cornet or benrahma (preferably get some money back on cornet) bring in Potts to play along side Alvarez and with the paqueta money start rebuilding a defence. Kherer will be back as well so he needs another fair crack at the whip as well.
Seems you are overating Benrahma a little to much , undoubtedly moyes didn't help him but I think it's a backward step , we need to sell him
@@robinfrost5439 either way they need to recoup some money and clear deadwood, just see players like haller, scamacca, fornals, benrahma and even kherer going out and doing well at their new clubs and loan clubs, out of benrahma and cornet I would rate benrahma better, year we won the conference league he had a alright season, on his day he’s a descent player, brought more to West Ham then cornet has, plus why keep throwing money away on new players, got a player who’s been West Ham about 3 years now why can’t the new manager bring out his good qualities?? 🤷🏼♂️clubs blown enough money and not utilised the players. Just saying give him until January then clear out then, with the signing of zaha as well you got cover. Really they should of signed Ibrahim Osman in January but that ships sailed. Who on the market would you get in yourself mate?
Zaha would be good for a season or two during the transitional period the team will go through while the club brings through or buys a couple of young strikers. Can we have Eze and Olise too?!
Zaha is undoubtedly a talented footballer and he looks after himself so the age thing does not concern me however he does come with baggage, despite that i would take him if the price is right.
Rather spend money on eze or olise. Zaha lazy but gifted
You’ll do for me Gonzo⚒⚒⚒
I do wish Sullivan would get his bloody snout away from transfers and recruitment. Jesus Christ he's done enough damage already. I feel your pain with the glasses mate. Being a speccy four-eyes myself I live in constant fear of sitting on mine! I lost a pair last year and a like-for-like replacement was very expensive, so I will be more careful next time. Don't know what I do to mine but they always seem to need cleaning as well. As for Zaha, can't see it happening but he'd be a great addition. I rate him. My slight concerns are he's sometimes not consistent enough and also his age. No resale value. 5 years ago I'd have snapped your arm off.
Here we go, we're off and running.... What are we saying, 86 players this transfer window we'll be linked with, ending up with very little because they were a penny over Sulli's budget! T Abrahams, W Zaha, Joselu, J Clarke, M Amoura, M Keitato to my knowledge so far .....
I’d take Zaha great squad player and good first team player if used properly
Yep I'd take Zaha if he's cheap, think a move back to London would give him a boost to perform.
Another player approaching middle age with a very iffy injury record - right up West Ham’s street
here is not one LWer presented to Moyes this January who he should have turned down. Saw someone saying this on another video; A LWer would have guaranteed us Europe. I could not agree more. Moyes not seeing past his own nose. Zaha would be a great signing. I love the thinking behind this signing. I love Zaha as a player (always have) but I love the thinking behind this signing. It's basically Tim saying I mean to carry on exactly as I left it in Jan. Build, build, build. Moyes has been blocking Steidten for a year. It's difficult to maintain your thinking when things like that happen, but Steidten is clearly doing that. Kudus was always brought in to be the 10. The problem was always LW. Get this over the line ASAP and keep going, Tim. The board have to back Tim. If Tim is backed in the summer properly, by both the board and whoever is in the dug out we will grow and grow and grow. Tim has the ability to put a side together who for me, it doesn't matter if it's Moyes, Lopeteguli, or Nick from Claret and Booze at the helm. He knows the market. All about making the right players know that it is a squad game, and that they are working towards clear objectives every week. We should be looking to win 90% of our home games next season and 60-70% of our away games. Times this season we have had good teams on ropes for 70 minutes but for a bit more firepower to kill them off. Leverkusen, Newcastle, Villa, Spurs. With a solid balanced structure in defense and midfield and volume in attacking areas we will be a nightmare to play against next season.
Another OAP, good ol' West ham, always building for the future.
We have one of best under 21 team in the country
I think get him and a younger player that we can bed in alongside him. Can't rely on him all season.
Did zaha get on with eze and olise ? 🙌
A very colourful character got pace little bit crazy, He should fit right in then. COYI
That’s it another 30+ ageing player who nobody in the premier league would take him on a FREE last season, what a great idea. When will we learn, we have the oldest squad in the league and now we go for another older player. I really am so pissed off at the clubs lack of ambition it’s ridiculous.
I would take him he is a great player
Can you imagine zaha and Paqueta in the same team !!!! Panto season all season
Signing Zaha will infuriate Moyes, for that reason get him in 😂
Zaha for 3 years sounds good . He will be antonio age at the end of this. Ideally, younger players would be better, for selling on (as we always do ), but we have talent already at the club. I'd look at that option first in my opinion
Hiya gonzo mate I totally agree i would have zaha even for a couple of years he's a great football player and banging on the left wing but we would need to get rid of oggy ings as we already got an old squad I would even let Cresswell go I don't see why were keeping him unless we play him left centre back with mavro or back 3 with aguard
Zaha is an excellent footballer, can play off the left or up top and had he joined in January we’d have finished top 7 and got into Europe no question. With a decent manager at the helm we could’ve played Paqueta, Alvarez and Kudus in midfield, with Zaha, Antonio and Bowen up top - would’ve been superb. A massive yes from me particularly as Paqueta is off.
A bit like Craig Bellamy and Robbie Savage... One of those players you hate when he's opposition but like the fact he's a pain in the arse to the opponents when he's in your team
I'd be lying if I said I liked Zaha, but there's no doubting his ability or the fit he would be for us on the left wing. A reasonably fit 31 year old could probably expect another 2 or 3 years at a high level. But Zaha, like Ronaldo is a fitness fanatic, so may well have an extended career. So if Tim and Lop want him that's good enough for me. Sully just needs to sign the checks, don't want any more 'presents' from him to the manager. Would be interested to know why media companies took umbridge at your comments yesterday Gonzo. They might not like them, but they can't deny their basis. Their 'pundits' are paid to have an opinion on everything, all the time, which is why they spout so many hackneyed platitudes. I like Souness because he usually thinks before he opens his gob, whether I agree with him or not, and he doesn't feel obliged to follow the herd.
I thought the real issue is that, surprise, surprise DM would not play a young Zaha when they were at Man U…
Zaha still fit still hungry to play be good additionn
No doubt Zaha is a clever player, however I think at 31 now he lacks pace as a left winger. All he offers are clever free kicks/fouls. Would have liked him some years ago. Would like to build a team with pace utilising some of our talented U23 squad.
... And just to add on to my previous comment, he's 31 now, how did that happen? Wouldn't that out him out of the not signing players over a certain age and it goes completely against the thoughts of bringing in younger players through/in
No thanks, 32 in a few months. We need younger and more energetic players not old and slow players
Look how good Willian has been and he is getting on. Zaha will do well for us.
Zaha will be better for us than against us.
@@davidryley4162 hows he guna play against us when he's in turkey 😂
Just seen Moyes has already got a job with Talksport 😂😂😂. Didn’t see that coming 🤣🤣🤣🤣
They gave him the horse racing slot due to moyes appetite for horse porn
I won’t say it’s a bad signing but this is ridiculous, the long and short is the fans will never get what they want once Sullivan is there, youths are required, Jack Clarke or Jonathan Rowe as back up to Zaha atleast🤷🏻♂️
Good player but for me wrong age profile with no re sale value, I feel we are at a point where players we get in should only increase in price to keep us moving forward
What better way to usher in the post-Moyes era than to sign the guy he hates the most. LOVE IT😂
Despite his age and being out of the Prem for a short while, I actually think he could be a good fit for us. Looks like Paq will not be charged by FA so v likely we will have over 80 mill to spend on a number ten and a left winger. We've still got potential to be very decent, especially in attack. (providing we hold on to Kudus)
Great vid yesterday I give media a wide birthday these days can't stand it. You'd like zaha in your team but personally dislike playing against him coyi
Whatever you think of him he’s a very good player.
If we cannot get Wesley from Brazil ... then Zaha will have 18 good months left in him.
We need a Zaha type & a young understudy as coverage. No media place likes us & I don't care, so long as we're thriving!
When I heard we were after Zaha I genuinely got goosebumps. And then someone mentioned his age. I immediately cringed and thought oh no... We need to get the age of the squad down drastically. But the more I think of it, he is such an exceptional talent I'm willing to let it slide. Just as long as we don't make a habit of buying 30+ players. He can be the only one.
Zaha, if he's not past his sell by date would be good
Zaha with a younger player like that Brazilian Wesley chap from Corinthians would be ok imo. Just Zaha would get a no as we need to be looking at reducing the age of the squad.
Zaha brilliant player box of tricks But does he still have the legs for the premier league?
I think Saha is a good signing, if we only get one over 30 in the six alledged signings for this summer then thats a win win. Saha is home grown, can play across the the front four, now has European experience, will suit J-Lo's style of play & will help to reduce the pressure on bringing the youngsters through. Ideal squad player for either starting or bringing og the bench, we just now need to sign Olise & Eze for £100 million for the pair. Paqueta's money can buy them with a little top up. ⚒️
Zaha would be a great signing, I actually wanted him at Fulham to have solid depth with him and Willian. Just keep him away from Maria Lopetegui.
In fairness to Sullivan, he doesn’t know the history between Moyes & Zaha probably because the way Sullivan sees it is a manager should do his best for the club. That means there should be no personal grudges preventing any player from playing for the team. But as we all know with Moyes if he likes you then you play. If he doesn’t you don’t.
He’s getting old but it’s a player u can’t turn down he’s a baller
Zaha now would be fine whilst sourcing his replacement for the future ?
Our money needs to spent else where . Our defence needs a whole new rebuild for a start , however if we can get him for low fee that may make sense . But I think this is a contingency plan if we loose paqueta to appease fans 🤷🏽♂️
Zaha is 32. Past his best. We need young hungry players.
Maybe Tim is getting Wesley and Zaha Is a fill in while Wesley gets used to premiership football
