Thanks for another honest, balanced review. You make a good point at the end, getting this would be buying last gen specs at a current gen price.
Thanks Bryan! Ya, theres still too many good deals from last year to pass up, especially when compared to this.
@@MatthewMoniz what would you suggest then from last year with a 4060 and a similar price?
Great video and good points made! Patiently waiting for that Yoga Pro 9i review!
Thank you! I need to get one in to review first lol Ill see what I can do
@@MatthewMoniz Yeah I think everyone except for Josh will see that thing in april lol. My pre-order has an estimated shipping date of april 7th in the Netherlands.
I think these companies put dim screens in these on purpose to upsell to the higher end models. This laptop sounds great but 271 nits is a dealbreaker.
Great video as always. Will you be reviewing the Lenovo Ideapad Pro 5 Gen 9 with AMD? I can’t believe how it can offer so much at such a low price. I'm particularly interested in the 14-inch version with integrated graphics. Keep up the good work.
What do you guys think of the ASUS TUF F16? WOuld you buy this?
Here's the thing, as my desktop PC finally died a died few weeks ago, I am now down to my Lenovo Y50-70 with the i7-4710HQ and GTX 860M. I would definitely go for the F16 if I had any money, but seeing how well my laptop is holding up (build quality) on its 10th year, I would be lying if I said I wouldn't look first for a Lenovo if I could afford one. Having said that, I have zero experience with ASUS laptops, never seen one in person, so I don't know what their build quality is like. My mainboard on my desktop was an ASUS one and I know I wouldn't get a new one from them again, hopefully their laptops are better. Looks wise, I like the style and I like the inclusion of TB4/USB4 which for me is a must for any new non ultra budget laptop/desktop. Good for ASUS.
The Asus Tuf F16 I saw has a different display with 400 nits; it is an online store and I hope it is not a scam or a typo: 16" QHD+ 16:10 (2560 x 1600, WQXGA) IPS, 400 Nits, Anti Glare .
I bought an Alienware16 R1 with a 4070 for that price. I have seen other 4070 laptops with better displays and 1 TB SSDs for around 1300. This Tuf is trash.
Finally a 16" beauty ❤
Dude I want that wallpaper. Where did you get it ?
Can you do Acer Helios Neo 14th gen?
Keyboard Light ❤, 4:10
is it worth buying an asus G14 with an r7 5800hs16gb of ram and an rtx 3060 for around $800 usd?
i was a little worried about the thermals on it.. the amd one runs stupid hot and it only has a HS chip. good to see this one runs well.
ASUS hate AMD . They are not beating that allegations 😂
agree!! thermal is insanely bad on my a16
What about A15 2023 ?
Agree, there are some models from previous years at a really good price.
Well, ASUS TUF gaming series is the budget line of asus gaming laptops. But yeah definitely, and they're all have decent build.
@@Mario123007 This is a really good budget laptop I just think sometimes you can find a good deal for the same money. Happens the same with phones and other devices.
@@omarcortes5754 true, with laptops it is the best deal to buy last year models, cuz usually past models get massive price drops.
I would like to see transparent keycaps for the whole keyboard. They look lovely. My keyboard (external) does that and if done correctly it looks amazing. You know what...don't stop there. If you (any company) make a laptop with a plastic body, go full transparent. It's going to look amazing. Oh, and make it orange too...like that transparent orange N64...mmmmmmmm. Wait where was I? Ah yes, good video man. I chuckled with how you dismissed the speakers.
I hate those kind of keyboard, make it look like a cheap keyboard
@@mehshutup3041 You are in luck. Most laptops don't have the WASD keys like that, and as far as I know none of them has it as I want them.
honestly coming from a guy that was using lenovo legion 5 now to asus tuf a16 advantage edition, i dont recommend any of the tuf lineup, its seriously a waste of money, you'd rather buy budget of loq or acer or just try to get a proper gaming laptop. my tuf a16 is all glitchy and buggy with hard reset becoming a normal thing for me.
From what I saw on gizmo, heat is also an issue if you can confirm true or not.
Shouldn't you be using a tuf to say that
Idk man I’ve been using an a15 for the past two years no issues till now and I’ve been pushing it hard
Not my case, I've been using an asus tuf dash f15 for the past 2 years and is still doing great, never an issue. I'm now looking to upgrade just because for VR games in high settings is lagging a bit
to my understanding that's an issue with the advantage edition, since it uses an AMD gpu
This is better priced than the Legion series in my country. I'll probably get this when the price dips a bit more but since I need a portable all in one this I think is far better device for the price where I'm at. After doing many research, this is probably my next purchase. Guess time will tell..
Legion series actually compete against the ROG not the budget TUF. The more accurate rival from Lenovo would be the LOQ series
@@obidean3964 that's a wrong way to see it. Legion 5 is more direct competitor to the TUF F series. It also competes with the Acer Nitro and Predator Helios, Gigabyte G series, MSI GF and GL or Pulse/Katana/Sword. Only the Pro, 7 and 9 series are a competitor to the ROG and Zephyrus line. But now the Legion is creeping up in price where I'm from anyways so it's a bad price hike for not so different features. Better off getting better bang for the buck either from this year or last year's model.
IDK what went wrong with asus tuf series, i own one which is 2021 fx516pe model and i think it looked very minimal and cool personaly i think those new models look quite ugly idk if anyone has noticed this? does asus do this on purpose so people like me would spend more money to buy zephyrus series instead or am i just over thinking?
Why even care about aesthetics... you gonna walk around town and showcase it or something
I need a honest opinion. Should i go with Legion Pro 7i 2024 or ASUS Zephyrus G16 2024? Ive heard that Pro 7i has crappy battery life and plastic build material.
I would go with legion, that laptop has decent build quality and has good thermals.
honestly go with the legion, you'll get better performance better build quality and better overall with better pricing i'd say. g16 is good but tuned down gpu is a no go
Go Asus. Lenovo is trash with bunch of software issues. I'm using Legion 5 Pro 2023 with RTX4060 and it has so much software and hardware glitch and errors.
I already own the the f15 of last year so i think iam good for another 4 years or so .
How is the F15 holding up?
@@MatthewMoniz doing great aside from easily stained track pad and the and lackluster screen peek brightness in long gaming sessions.
@@medo-he2xndo u recommend buying a tuf series laptop, or should i look for other budget laptops ?
PLEASE REVIEW ASUS TUF A16 2024
Anything with the Tuf label is hot garbage. Tuf=budget and ASUS doesn't care about it.
@BadNeighbor762 why are you here in coments
$1350 for a 512 SSD, FHD is wild.
I would choose Strix G16 over Legion 5 Pro, but Legion 5 way better than TUF laptops 😎 The keyboard and area around it feels sooo cheap :(
People flex on Apple but in 2024 Windows laptops have gone to a new level. I would classify this as a low-end gaming laptop, not even mid-range, and the price is £1400 in the UK for the base model with a 4060. And remember this is a year-old chip! The base G14 in the UK is priced at £2400 and that is the new mid-range price, though I think ASUS are pushing that as a low cost premium gaming laptop, though I would not go there. When you have a Galaxy Book 4 Ultra at £3150 you know the world of PCs have changed with Windows simply no longer a cheaper rival to Apple. I can see why Apple wants to get into gaming as there is a great opportunity now Windows OEMs are raising prices (to survive). I could not recommend this at this price and would wait for the 2025 Core Ultra if your current machine can hang out that long. Though I do expect further price rises, but at least you will get a much better machine with an improved iGPU.
Very tuf to say no to a matthew review.
❤❤
This sounds like a good deal. I used a Tuf for a few years while I was on a tight budget.
How did it hold up?
@@MatthewMoniz It held up very well and I gave it to my brother who is using it now. You have great videos.

Scam 400 nits not possible It's only with 250 nits rn
🙏
agree, too much sticker
$1200 🥵 is affordable 😮
I said "more affordable" in comparison to what I usually review
Plastic bad or not.
fried my rtx3060 asus tuf, and now i understand that most laptops are garbage for long-term gaming
What were you even expecting a rtx 3060 to last for...
Any suggestions for gaming pc where I can play valorant around 250 fps
asus are out of their minds pricing this at $1350
What do you think they should do? Give it for 900$ or wat!!!
looks too sunny 😅 Also looks bulky !
Asus has to be the most annoying gaming laptop company in Europe, especially in Italy, they've made the tuf F16 limited to a rtx4060 GPU with QHD screen, while the rog A16 go up to a rtx4070 but limited to a FHD+ screen, now we're stuck with a dilemma, this is beyond frustrating🤦🏾♂️
Just buy the A16 and an external monitor. Easy fix
@@xage2006 you're actually right, but the idea of buying a gaming laptop is to game on the go, an external monitor is just going to become a mobility inconvenience, anyways, your idea is much appreciated👍🏾
I dont get it why a lot of people gets affected with the stickers. Just take them off. Lol
It's ongoing joke
Plastic.. never again. If possible, review the Legion Slim 7 gen 9 AMD. IF its aluminium like the Legion 7i, then its a buy.
Its a "budget" laptop, youre obviously gonna pay at least 500 dollars more for aluminium
😊😊😊😊❤❤❤
why don't any reviewers mention how handicapped these laptops are with intels compared to amds, and how intel has monopolized the laptop market, intel using that us gov money to buy reviewers it seem
Do you have proof that Intel is monopolizing the market? Based on my talks with people from different OEMs is that Intel always has supply where as AMD does not. Supply is important if these companies want to make money and profit.
@@MatthewMoniz Yes, supply-side issues are the problem. Although TSMC is building more factories, it may be 1-2 years before AMD can make more and enjoy further economies of scale. I suspect that is one reason this latest AMD chip cycle is basically a copy-and-paste 2023 chip.
I don't like the logo one bit and same goes to other brands. Stop putting logo on your products and make us advertise them for you. Imagine your house has a logo on it. Imagine your bed has a big ass logo on it. Just make a beautiful and good looking product without your ugly logo on it. See you guys trying so hard to slap a logo on it with different positioning and wordings when you could have just make it clean without any shit on it. Maybe if you stop trying so hard to put that logo in, you can replace it with a good design.
😂😂😂bro calm down
The screen is so shit...😅

this laptop is so bad , selling is ganna be TUF
This product screams e-waste
