  • Who ever this man is, he ran a legend for years. The beautiful Sliver Spade is one of the mothers of all equipment.....and when you operate that giant Lady like this man does, you are legend. Period.

  • Thank you so much for giving those of us who don't get to see this great equipment the opportunity to see it! I'm an operator myself and I love seeing these views from the cab.

  • Fantastic What a operator he’s really smooth and he’s picking those low level rock up effortlessly. At 14:09 that point he’s using the white rock has a ballast to sit on brilliant What a find this video is.. Thank you so much

  • As amazing as that machine is, the work looks very repetitive. I have a lot of respect for the men that do this day in and day out and also the guys that have to keep it maintained. Not an easy job - lots of responsibility, too.

  • Is the coal under all that dirt and rock and this operator is removing the dirt to get to it? Is that what's going on here? Whatever he's doing, he is damn good at it.

    @ATOM09@ATOM097 жыл бұрын
    • ATOM09 Yes he’s removing probably min 500ft of rock/soil “overburden” To get at the coal seam That is what he’s most likely sitting on is the coal seam. So much of our population switch on a light and have no idea the work that goes in to get that electricity to the light..

    • @@MICKSHRED The thickness of the coal seem will determine what type of excavator to extract the coal that sitting there.. The coal extraction will be a very thorough job as not to containment with burden or as little as possible… The world is still sitting on a huge amounts of coal of poor quality and also of very good quality.. I believe coal will be around again in decades to come again as we humans will find better ways of extracting more energy out of it with far less emissions.. Reason in my opinion our government 🇬🇧 in the late 70’s early 80’s they started to close our pits.. So as to keep our energy under the ground and to import some other country’s energy deposits so as to retain our future energy if needed..!! My thoughts 💭 Before anyone starts having a dig at my opinion !! I lived and still live in Staffordshire in the central area of the Uk 🇬🇧 and lived with miners and saw first hand the hardship the strikes caused,the people were fighting for there livelihood.. It was such a terrible time..

    • He’s removing the overburden to expose the coal seam. This type of mine is called a strip mine, not because they strip off the overburden, but because they complete the coal extraction in strips. As they uncover and remove the coal , the stripping shovel replaces the overburden on the mined strip and uncovers the coal right next to it.
