Mike the Throat Goat
i've been googling for these feet pics he's been talking about but no dice. he must have some kind of side hustle. something to do with this gym maybe?
Mike's been grinding for years, putting out content, teaching people, making us laugh, running RP, creating apps, and training like a madman...so cool to see him build this dope gym. Good work.
and I’m pretty sure he’s a professor on top of that
and apparently consuming marijuana and looking at his anal cavity doing rows
Found your channel recently and I’ve been really enjoying your content. Happy to see you’ve done well for yourself. Congrats on all your hard work.
Props to the butlers for moving all the lambos out of the driveway on a short notice for that final shot. Being able to work out at home is amazing - even though my home equipment is just not enough to be called a home gym, not to mention it's kind of scattered around, I get way better workouts at home than I could ever get at the gym. The only reason for me to go to the gym now is to creep.
lmaooo I love this channel's community so much
Work out at home is faster but only if you dont have lambo labyrynth to navigate through you would spend at least 2 hours in. That's only reason they moved all of them away.
I see the people have inherited Mike's sense of humor
@@RishabhSharma10225He do be spreading his seed far and wide...
Meanwhile my home gym, I just added some rusty brake discs to my barbell
Hey Mike just want to throw this out there, I really appreciate the vast knowledge and humor you give us for free. I'm 6'5 and used to be about 500lbs, I finally got my weight under control and got myself down to 195lb mostly through diet and cardio. The problem I had after that was I was essentially just skinny-fat and struggled with strength training because I was afraid to put on weight. But your work has really helped me out and I'm finally making healthy gains, thanks again.
Awesome man!
That's amazing, dude. Thanks for sharing this with all of us, keep grinding!
Same i've been 160-180lb for a few years after losing a ton of weight, but im finally going to bulk and not be scared of fat so hopefully this works out.

Well deserved. Genuinely glad our coach on the KZheads is doing good. Thanks for all of your hard work.
Really heartwarming to see you so happy with your home gym. Wholesome stuff
"Not a huge gym." Bro, it's literally twice the size of the little hole in the wall gym I train at. You could easily sell memberships to your gym, but I imagine you like your privacy. Super nice setup, Doc.
This is the nicest home gym ever. You can tell the equipment has really been thought out. Top tier.
Juji has better for body building. Brian has like 3x gyms, all godly.
Four Words... Jay Cutler's Home Gym
@@flexxwilliamz514Pff, Brian Shaw has so many gyms I don't even know which ones are his. Shaw has gyms like Seinfeld has cars.
@@brandonhoover2120 Something about Mike's gym makes it better, I feel like the equipment in his gym look like the type of equipment I would use. The vibe of his home gym just looks better.
@@abootz5188 Doesn’t even make sense the way you’re trying to phrase it. It’s smaller, less equipment, and aesthetically worse than Juji. Brian has more space, much more variety, and substantially more overall equipment. Mikes can’t be better when it’s objectively worse than both. You may like it more, but it’s like factually just worse.
13:00 one thing i don't see anywhere and i would love to see it is actual "marked lines" like every inch with different color so when you find the perfect spot for yourself you can always get it and it would eliminate grabbing it unbalanced, would love the same on Leg press / Bars, just an all around quality of life improvement, maybe with some super strong "duct tape" ??? idk, it's just an idea.
I just can't get enough of your sense of humor, it just hits the spot and never gets old. Your home gym is dope, even though it seems that it consists mainly of machines and not free-weight equipment. Anyways, very cool setup. Cheers.
why would u prefer free weight equipment?

One of my favorite videos of all time, would love to know more about the building process
The more I watch your vids, the more I'm impressed with what my gym has. We have a few kinds of Freemotion machines. And with their recent organization, they created a deadlift station WITH DL jacks. I love it.
Im so happy for you Dr.Mike. You are so helpful to all of us and deserve the best gym.
Happy for you Doc! Although every time you said how it’s not that big, I laughed bc your gym’s square footage is about double my childhood home 😅
It's bigger than typical urban middle-class family homes in cities and many in the suburbs even in a famously spacious and space-hungry country like the USA. My friend grew up in a four person, two professional income family in New Jersey; I just went to his family's house and their very comfortable home is far smaller than this all storeys put together, as are all houses on their quiet professional neighborhood. This is a straight-up humblebrag and not a subtle one. Mark Wahlberg's $2.5 million home gym that made all the celebrity media gush in awe at how palatial it is is exactly the same size as Dr. Mike's.
It's much bigger than a lot of public gyms in the UK
It was glorious. Brought a tear to my eye. And I love the POV on bar pads, lol!!
As a metro Detroit cop myself, I don’t enjoy driving to the gym this time of year as I spend enough time out on the roads as it is. Your home gym looks incredible! Great set up and I love some of the little things you’ve added for your machines and exercises.
I've taken my training and nutrition much more seriously since I've started watching your videos, been training for 2 years but now I feel and look as good as when I started having newbie gains, thank you for your work Dr. !

Amazing gym! Very inspiring. Appreciate you Dr. Mike
Wooooow what a gorgeous gym.. Mike definitely deserves it
You have the best gym I’ve seen yet, Dr Mike!
Amazing gym. Congrats on your hard work and success!
Just started watching and following your content. You’re very entertaining, and incredibly informative. Already a big fan. Oh, your home gym is gorgeous.
Big +1 to getting a variety of bars and grips. My home gym is small but the first thing I got after my bar and plates was an ezcurl bar to make better use of the plates I already had. Next on the list is a cable machine (or something comparable) and a variety of grips for the same reason.
Amazing gym. I have exactly 14m(2) to work with. It’s a little comfy when more than two are in there. My dream is to be able to build out something like this. Inspiring. Thanks Mike.
Having my own gym and putting on the music I like including movies if I’m doing long cardio session is the best
Cable attachment recommendation: the vulken handle. Fantastic for pushdowns, upright rows, face pulls, curl variations, and it’s incredibly comfortable. I train in commercial gyms but I carry it in my bag, it’s that good
I second this, I travel a lot for work and I take it everywhere.
Why not just a rope
This gym is insane. I don't know if you're going to do tutorial-like videos in the future but I see some very rare and specialized machines and contraptions that it seems that "regular" people won't be able to replicate the exercises in most of the gyms, cause let's be honest very very few can afford personal gyms.
what do you mean most people can't afford quarter milly gyms? ugh, how disgusting
@@MHNK77 I didn't mean to offend you my Lord 😂
Misconception. Powerblocks are $500 for the top end. They offer payment plans with zero interest. The bare bones Rep Apparel Power Rack, barbell, and plates would run you a few hundred dollars. Do the steinborn squat, clean to press, deadlifts, and then dumbbell work and you’d be in insane shape. Top top end of all that is maaaybe $2k and you could buy it in installments. Most people can afford that over a two year time period.
@@Dtaysh I have a bench (for the past 23 years) with few transformations it can do and around 100kg of weight, it's good enough to do some workouts, problem is space, in my last apartments it was and is impossible to use it because of a too small space to deploy it.
but why would you want or need those machines if you are indeed regular people? a rack, a barbell, a suspension trainer/rings is really all you need, and that can be quite affordable. and if you want to spend more, a cable system some specialty bars, dumbbells and voila, you can really train better than in any gym.
I do something similar to the duct tape thing for front squats, but I use Figure 8 straps instead of tape. Works great!
You deserve it. Your videos are priceless.
Ok,, don’t we all just love Mike 😂❤ thanks for making the world better in your own way!
That’s an incredible gym. I’ve kitted out my own gym in the garden outhouse. Limited space but enough equipment to be able to do all the exercises I need to do. Love adding little accessories to it over time. Been life changing for me
The Best what ever I had seen. Thank`s for this Video
Holy shit. I saw a little of this in some of the workout videos you did, but didn't realize it was your *home* gym. I thought it was a multi-person gym your company was putting together. That's sick!
Love this along with the fact he also uses it for work as well! So I’m sure a good portion can be wrote off as well! Double positive if you ask me!
Extraordinarily gym buddy! God bless 🙏
Man, you must really be into working out! Never knew.
Damn nice 😊 congratulations on your gym! Can you maybe go through the rationale of fitting machines to different body sizes? Can one do it with a big enough towels in a pinch? As far as commercial gyms go, I could've used some additional adjustments options but wasn't aware of the rationale behind them.
Its amazing how much i get done in my very small home gym without feeling like i even did anything just screwing off and watching you on the TV, distracting myself from work with a few sets hear and there... it adds up and my rest time is maximized. Instead of gas i can afford more protein and toys too. Literally dumbells, a barbell, a bench, gymnastics rings and bands. I put an old shoe over the barbell and jam it in the corner for a landmine. Works perfectly. And for cardio, i power walk OUTSIDE. That is all i have and there are so many things i never even do. Home is where the real work happens. The commercial gym is more of a social outing to see some tail and say hi to the bros because its so packed in there. Good place to polish up the physique but i no longer rely on it to get my gains. If i have a plan itll take me 3hrs stressing to get it all done waiting on machines or ill have something come up and i dont make it, then i feel like a failure. With a home setup, there are zero excuses. Zero none nada. I'll go lift in my underwear. Dont even need laundry or shoes.
Super awesome and love the fact that your in my backyard
I like how he actually thought about the lighting for a camera. The goon lighting is on point.
I feel validated. The Freemotion (Dual Cable Cross) machine is my favorite multipurpose piece of equipment. I'd go so far as to say one can work every body part on this one piece of equipment (if you have all the attachments). Great gym!
I totally agree. Add a multi-hip machine and an FID bench and you can even do a complete BRIG20 workout.
Lol the gym I go to has one and it's ALWAYS the most desired machine.
Love the gym man congrats on the success!
This is the dream ! 💪
Really beautiful facility. Congratulations. I'm particularly jealous of the Free Motion machine. I built a home gym in my basement. Not nearly as nice or as big as yours, but I completely agree about how awesome it is to have your own music, own equipment, and not have to deal with the many frustrations of most public gyms. One thing I worried about is emergency/safety. I'm a bit older than you, and I was concerned that if I ever got badly hurt -- hopefully not likely, but also not impossible -- it might be hours or longer before my wife missed me and thought to come look. If I had a cardiac problem, or a bad accident with heavy squats or something like that, where I couldn't move or get to a phone, that could be a bad day. I ended up doing two things. First, I put an AED, medical oxygen, and a good first aid kit (with a tourniquet, etc.), on the wall. Second, my home alarm company hooked up a wireless medical emergency pendant that I can put on when I'm doing squats, etc. If I get stuck in a life-threatening way, and I'm still conscious, I can push the button and get help on the way. Anyway, just a thought. As annoying as public gyms can be, if you get hurt or in trouble, there is usually someone around to help or call the ambulance. Maybe worth thinking about that aspect of working out at home.
Man i bet that is sick and that is a great idea makes you wonder why their isnt more medical devices at a gym
I've been working out at home for over 20 years. All I have are a pair of adjustable dumbbells that go from 1.5kg-20kg each, one bench, and a pullup bar that is attached to a doorframe. That's all you need folks.
Well, if you plan to keep on hypertrophying without plateauing... eventually you'll need those dumbbells to go to 40kg. I have an almost identical setup, and the 20kg lasted me less than a year before I had to upgrade. So, heads up to anyone who plans to do the same, if you're in it for the long haul, invest in the largest adjustable dbs at the start.
Shoutout from the D. Dr Mike is the man.
Love it, ur a great trainer and motivator.
I’ve been a long time non-fan of Mike since I first started lifting several years ago. However, this video of him in his happy place has done the impossible. I can finally see his warmth and passion behind his knowledge. He so relaxed I would watch his other videos if they were like this.

Very interesting Dr Mike. However, my autism is all-consuming and and all I want to know is about the structural, mechanical, electrical, and Plumbing design of your home gym. Please share.

Hi Doctor Mike, as a newbie to the gym I have a question regarding gym wear. Should we wear hoodies or singlets or short sleeved shirts? Cause I see the rock training indoors with a hoodie , and am wondering… is it better? Or is it more of a bald thing?
An oversized suit is usually best to train in.
Having a home gym is probably one of the best purchases I’ve ever made. Most of the time I save is in traveling and changing. I can roll out of bed and workout first thing if I need or at the very end of the day if I’m super busy.
