For some reason i wished it wasn’t a that ending. Tragic ending is alws what we will ever remember. August will be the happiest.
You can see that August realizes that being a king isn't that great. When his friends point out that now he will have responsibilities and not just the privileges, he knows it won't be like what he imagined. It's actually a sad end for him coz he is trapped. But it was an open ending because Wilhlem only told his parents he didn't want the throne, he didn't officially do anything. Maybe when Wille and Simon grow up they actually figure out a way for Wile to be King and still be together. Nothing is set in stone. We're all satisfied but the end is open.

@@reginageorgetownuni He very clearly said he didn't want to be king at all. So I do think it is clearly stated that he won't be. He even stressed that while he might have said it in anger or frustration before, this time he means it and won't change his mind. What is unclear, is if August will actually be king. The queen has him as a spare, but when Wille said that August will be the next king she really didn't seem happy. After all, she probably still has enough dirt on him in some way that she could make sure he won't actually be king. There probably is some other cousin that didn't publish child porn on the internet that could be the next in line instead. And of course we don't know if August will actually want to become king when it will come to that. And even if he does, it's clearly shown he will be unhappy.
The parallels with season 1 with the lyrics, the name of the song, the meaning of getting rid of the frog… that scene was perfect 💜

Of all the songs I've heard by Omar, I personally think this one is his ultimate song --- both in voice and lyrics. As I listen to him, I not only feel he [as Simon] is singing to Wille [of course], but is offering this song for the world to hear and accept. I sincerely hope he [production/Netflix?] releases a longer version in the same "style" as this. Omar proves he is a great ballad/folk singer above any other type of singing.

i literally cried watching this season, i love how the story has developed, of course im sad this is the end of young royals, but the final scene it's just so perfect, i couldn't ask for something better, so im okay with that (💔😭

This ending was bittersweet to me. I am happy that Willhem and Simon can finally live their lives together without any duties tearing them apart, but I cannot help but feel so bad for August in the end. This ending sucked for him: He lost Sara, the only person he truly cared for and loved, he lost his freedom now that he’s to be the new Crown Prince, and I don’t know whether or not he will even be able to handle the pressure of the Crown because of his mental issues he still has. I don’t even know if he wants to be King anymore. And everyone else has each other for support but now August is alone, with nobody by his corner, and nobody to truly confide in. I know he did some horrible things but I really liked his character development in this final season and can’t help but feel so bad for him. The writers completely screwed him over in my opinion.
I think that in that moment of him realizing that that was Wille walking away, he knew that he was going to be king, but also that it was his punishment. I think he will be a good king having the experiences that he’s had and the emotional growth he’s had to go through in the past seasons, but he will also always have this haunting memory of what he is capable of. That hurts but it only makes him more self aware and absolutely will make him a better king. Losing sara will also just hopefully make him more self aware of his own inner demons. I wish they would do a single season spin off dedicated to August just so we can see where his story goes, because I also think his development was amazing. I would want to see more about him learning how to love healthily in every aspect of his life. Love himself, love others, and love the monarchy but in a healthy way. Idk, I don’t think he’s as screwed as many think

Just deserts. He was so deeply twistedly horrible, I wasnt willing to see him face anything other than punishment for how badly he treated and manipulated everyone around him so completely all the time.. I didn't think he deserved a redemption arc honestly.. but by the end, it helped to understand more of his journey, and to see him have to take the consequences of his actions, and he did.. and I'm so glad to see it, that he caught himself jn time to develop better habits for life, and not take the bad path he had been on. Im so relieved and glad that Sara chose her self respect and refused him. He treated her as a toy, never saw her, and took her innocence away. He broke her trust, and I'm so glad she realises that she deserve so much more, no matter how much glamour or presents he might send her, she deserves more than to be used and paraded. He has his "friends", he has his influence, he has the queen and dukes encouragement and acceptance now, maybe he realises he can rely on his new step dad, and his mum, and he knows himself better. He truly recognised that he had to make amends not to grease someone or manipulate them into "forgiving" him... but to do it because it's right and to reclaim some integrity and improve his own self esteem, so he learned to be a real man afterall. Maybe thats what he was really trying to get by doing all those manipulative things from the start, he found it inside himself from rock bottom.. and in a way he owes Wille thanks for that for refusing all his games and insisting on honesty and integrity all the way, even though it made wille suffer, he role modelled staying true to august. Maybe he has a chance after all.

@@personal8001 Couldn’t have said it any better. At the end of episode 5, I was like that’s it, Wille is out, August is in, and that is his cosmic, karmic, and literal punishment. The whole last act I was just waiting for it to happen! The look on August’s face when Wille runs out of the car is absolutely spectacular, these actors just absolutely outdo themselves at every turn. August is a monarchist and I can totally see him turning around and making it work. For me, even though August did detrimental things, the writing and Malte’s portrayal made him a sympathetic character and capable of changing even in an off screen situation.
Nothing to say, I'm speechless. Beautiful interpretation of Omar. During seasons 2 and 3, we had 2 masterpieces intended for Wilhelm but particularly this one because Simon sings it just for him. Wilhelm was spoiled by Simon for his birthday. He sang her “happy birthday” in her native language, brought her a cupcake and a sandwich (a little nod to Wilhelm) and finally “this wonderful song”.

It was so cute and so sad, the end was so unexpected thank you for everything Netflix, I am sad that this is the end because I was attached to them and I recognized myself a lot through Simon I have the impression to have grown and matured with them especially since the last season came out on my birthday on March 11 for my 17 years as Willie, so I am sad, but so happy for them I would love to know how their life has turned since! The emotions that I felt thanks to this series will never go away, the work of the director, the actors, Edvin and Omar is just incredible, the series had this aura that I had never felt before, the scenes of love where you hear them breathe, when they touch and kiss one another one really feels that they appreciate the present moment, this magic is crazy and will remain forever in a corner of my head, it is with a broken heart and a relieved heart that I say goodbye to this series and I would have forever WILMON IN MY HEART.
