People forget just what a fantastic player Beckham was.
If your comment is related to this video (as it probably is) then it is just totally of and very casual thing to say.. If there is something people remember him by its his free kicks, however, he was not great player because he scored one or two free kicks per season, but due to his passing and crossing skills and vision.

Keysa Key carlos relied on power while becks was more on precision, technique and execution. Don't get me wrong, Carlos took great freekick but give Becks credit even as a neutral. Man always put in extra work in training to improve and sharpen his set piece technique.

David Beckham is one of the last decades era of footballers showmanship. He was there along with amazing footballers. Ronaldinho, Raul, Henry, Eto'o, Figo, Bergkamp, Recoba, Seedorf, Gerrard, Pirlo.... and the rest of many others skill full players within this era. The last will be these Messi and Cristiano era. After these guys era retired, there will be none of us watching such entertaining footbal anymore. I doubt that there will be one.
