Fuad is 100% RIGHT, midfield trio should be Jude Rice Foden. Asking someone like Mainoo to START in the EUROS who hasn’t even played 30 senior football games is crazy. Fuad is 1000% right. Rashford Kane Saka Jude Rice Foden
My exact thoughts. The thing that makes Jude so so special is that he can do anything anywhere on the pitch, unbelievable baller. He’s not the best player either, it’s fs Kane so you’re not “risking” your best player. Jude can 100% play in the 8 with Foden at the 10 and rice at the 6. The guy is a gem and it’s not like he won’t be making runs into the box he’s going to be doing that. He’s got the engine to be everywhere on the pitch. With Foden as well the guy is just a pure footballer, the type of guy you just can’t leave out of the team because in a single moment he can change games. I know some people don’t watch city because he can also put in a defensive shift. So much talk of 6/8/10 we can just have 6, 8/10, 8/10. This also allows Kane to drop deeper how he wants to and give balls in behind to your 2 other most in form players. When you’re in that semifinal or final and the game is a tight 1-1 70th minute, and Foden gets that ball either on the counter or just in possession and he does his turn, English fans are going to feel so stupid for even trying to put him somewhere else😭

And guess what next season when Mbappe comes, there’s gonna be games he plays as a 8 when Carlo go back to the 433 with Mbappe as the ST, Vini-Lw, Rodrigo-Rw, Jude is generational he’s generational in both those roles 8 and 10. For his current Madrid team he needs to play higher up with the likes of Tchouameni, Camavinga and Valverde surrounding him, for this England team he needs to play further back…and that’s okay as the purpose of the tournament isn’t for Jude to win Ballon D’or and score goals…it’s for England to win the Euros.

Kobbie Mainoo is a good player with insane potential but people saying he should start are taking it too far imo He hasn't even played 30 games of senior football yet and in spite of some aspects of his performance against Liverpool a few days ago, United's midfield was also insanely open throughout the game, bailed out by Liverpools lack of quality in the final third He should be in the squad 100% but you have to remember that players like Michael Owen, Wayne Rooney and Jude Bellingham who all hit a world class level at a very young age are considered once in a generation for good reason

The midfield is open point you made about united is because the brother is almost playing ALONE in midfield. Bruno wants to go forward, Mctominay is always getting forward to get on crosses. Mainoo doing all the defensive work alone hence why the midfield is so open. In englands system alongside jude and rice who are absolute engines, he will slot right in to make it a perfectly balanced midfield. And Im sorry if you dont rate mainoo highly, you either have an agenda or you simply dont know ball.

I’m going to throw a wildcard here and I hope the SDS pod sees this and I want people to see this. The left back area is pretty starved as both Shaw and Chilwell are always injury prone. But there’s one guy that wasn’t even in the video. And that was Alfie Doughty from Luton. Honestly he is a wicked left back I’ve seen him play a couple times and been really impressed. He loves to drive up and has some wicked delivery on him he’s got some amazing crossing. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s on the plane this summer as he would be a good option to have at left back he’s 24 so fairly young and good age.

Everyone's always so adamant on playing Trent in the lesser games. But you're tuly missing a trick, not playing him in the biggest games. He's a big game player, and can split even the most solid of defences. When you need to create a goal out of nowhere, against an opposition that gives you no space to do so, he's your guy.

It also comes down to competition in certain positions. That's why I'd take some like Gordon or Mainoo instead of Palmer for the Euros, because despite Plamer being better than them, he has to compete with Jude, Foden and Madders and isn't gonna see the pitch regardless.

Foden off the left, a midfield three of Bellingham, Rice, Mainoo, and Trent at RB in games where you expect to dominate the ball. In games against better opposition, Rashford off the left, Foden comes in for Mainoo and pushes Bellingham deeper, and Walker comes in for Trent.

It works best as a CB because of the distance that they have to travel defensively is decreased both for the RB that ticks into RCB and for Stones who only needs to drop back a few yards.

Solanke this season has probably been better than Toney last season. Solanke 23/24 has 14 NPGs in 28 league games Toney 22/23 has 14 NPGs in 33 league games Solanke has 1 more NPG in all competitions whilst having played 3 less games. Toney should be 4th choice striker for me.

John stones is so vital in this euros I think if you have stones pushed into midfield next to rice if you wanna do foden and jude together create a box 4 in possession and walker Maguire shaw as the 3 I think makes so much sense then have Rashy and saka wide with big hk up top
Branthwaite is a good young CB but going from a Dyche park the bus football to a possession team and defending large spaces is a huge step.

I’m a bit frustrated with the analysis of Colwill. He is one of our best defenders, if not our best, maybe behind Gusto. This season specifically. He hasn’t played LB in a while despite what people seem to be assuming cause of earlier in the season. He also wasn’t always playing as a LB. People assume it’s 4 at the back traditionally, but systems differ all the time. Mostly he would be a LCB in a back 3 on the ball and covering LB when Chelsea were off the ball. And even then he has been good. I understand if he doesn’t start because of his recent injury issues, but whenever he plays we are 10x better defensively. He is still young and needs time to get into this inconsistent and young squad, but he hasn’t been bad at all. People saying he has been bad cause he is playing at LB have not watched him play recently cause he does not play as a LB traditionally at all. Plus in the last few games he started as a LCB in a back 3 and a LCB in a back 4. And even he sort of switches to LB after subs usually, it’s usually to give gusto the license to run forward and contribute more up the pitch and then it becomes a back 3 on the ball like I said earlier. Gotta do better to give analysis on him. Plus everyone else doing their tier lists have been putting him on the plane sooooooooo teehee.
Jude has to play higher up. He’s so good in that 10, sometimes going past the ST. Can imagine him & Kane inter changing positions midgame. Jude in the 10 reminds me of Bruno in his first year at United bc he used to score a lot by playing like a ST

I do understand Gallagher is a work horse but everyone making these squads almost seems to forget Jones plays in a gegenpress and has done for his entire senior career. At least test him out against the dry starter teams in the euros.

My England Playing XI would be in a 343 formation, I think for England to win trophies they should focus on their strongest aspect, the midfield. They have lot of gud midfielders. GK - Pickford 3 CBs - Stones, Maguire, Walker 4 CMFs - Foden, Bellingham, Rice, Trent 2 Wingers - Sancho, Saka Striker - Kane Manager - Not Southgate
Ben white should plat at CB for England. He's arguably the best defender aside stones plus i think it would be a great partnership
