For all those who wanted to come to MalaMala but cannot, we'd like to bring MalaMala to you. In the coming weeks we'll endeavour to share with you everything from game drives to field work. Basically, what rangers do when we don't have guests. Enjoy and stay safe.
This is best close up of lions feeding I have ever seen....can't stop watching them....you are fantastic with the video....seriously rangers well done!
Thank you so much Daryl 😀
@The Big1 Do you have the link please?
Gorgeous gorgeous lions. Those sub adults are just so handsome like their father(s). Lion feast audio is AWESOME and totally INTENSE to watch. Thanks guys as always.
Awesome indeed Kimberly. And thank you.
Lion feast audio is very very AWESOME.
Incredible video and such a lovely close up of lions feeding, especially Tinyo. This kambula pride needs to hunt a daga bull and not a calf.Hats off to the rangers for providing us the luxury to watch such incredible lions from home. You guys are awesome !
Our pleasure Aninda!
I laughed towards the end when the big male picked a piece of meat and there was a cub hanging on for dear life! Priceless
😂 Thank you for watching!
I laughed when the guy said, well it looks like things are setting down now.........
The only thing better than the video was the sound. Amazing job!
Thank you Alex!

Here Here I agree totally .
Gorgeous family pride 💞 Lions have no mercy for the weak, no room for the weary, and no pity for cowards. The chase is on...a very intense sighting, amazing sounds. Geez, one young cub got a couple of smacks on the head for complaining 😕 Full-on, super-charged feeding frenzy. I feel wide awake now 😲 Take care there, thank you MalaMala, I'm saving this video.
Glad you enjoyed it Carolena. Thank you for watching!
Wow! Incredible! I' m speechless! Masterful camera work. Elegant, super-tolerant big pride male behavior. Even the lionesses lounging on the backs of their pride mates seemingly with no concerns whatsoever. Blown away! A+++ to MalaMalla.
Kind words indeed. Thank you for watching Phillip!
Nothing like a veritable lion feeding frenzy to start the day. Thanks for the video. It's great seeing lions in all their splendor.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for watching!
Incredible footage, the feeding habits of lions are ferocious and am happy the cubs did get something to eat. WOW!! Truly amazing... Those shots of the sub adult males at the beginning are stunning. Absolutely beautiful boys. Thank you MalaMala.
😇 Thank you Annette
Many many many thanks for letting us just hear the sounds with no voices what so ever, really great. I am meditating to this in a loop. Very deep and primal. I love it.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I love their "fights" for a better place at the dinner table!
And it was a small table this time! Thank you for watching Davide.
This is the best video I have seen that truly shows the ferocity and power of lions. Gripping vision.
Thank for the kind words1
we have covid to be thankful to for, for putting these Rangers In Isolation and that they share these videos with us... best thing on youtube atm
Such kind words! Thank you for watching.
To think scenes like these have been acting out for possibly hundreds of thousands of years. I find watching lions eating hypnotic. I could seriously watch them for hours. Great video thank you
This is awfully wonderful!! Scary but so awesome to see nature in action and see them peaceful after their meal! So difficult for me to watch yet so awesome!!
Like you can't watch but you have to watch? We know the feeling. We definitely do not enjoy watching an animal being devoured but we can still be in awe of just how raw nature can be. Thank you for watching Lizette!
@@MalaMalaGameReserve Yes! Difficult but can't not watch! Had been wondering quite a bit if you as guides also find it difficult seeing animals getting caught and being devoured. I guess its all about perspective. Focusing on the whole picture instead of the animal getting caught? Thank you so much for sharing!
Superb content of the Kambula pride feeding. Absolutely loved the manners at the crowded dinner table. Thank you rangers!!!
Glad you enjoyed it Cynthia.
I would not want to join these lions for dinner. What an amazing sighting. Thank you
You'd probably become part of the meal! Glad you enjoyed it Sandy!
I saw a family of 4 boys eat just like that over 2 roasted chickens! 😅😅😅 Fantastic work MalaMala!!
Thank you Darcy 😂 😋
Damn, this brought me back to the days when I was a kid eating Couscous on the floor after Friday prayer, with my large family in Morocco.
Must've been good couscous!
@bruceownsu Exactly man. It wasn't just the father. It was the uncles and aunts too. I am telling you. It was like the video. Though I was able to save myself a leg. The key was to sit next to my grandma. HAHAHA Good old days.
Lol
Thank you very much .... LIONS PRIDE documentary ... always on my MENU FOREVER.
Glad you enjoy it! Thank you for watching
Amazing - love the photography - catching the family dynamics - thank you so much for all these videos - makes quarantine much more bearable. Wish we would be there with you again!
Our pleasure! Thank you for watching!
That was the most amazing video I've ever seen of lions eating together snarling at each other all the while looking so healthy. Mother Nature at its very best. Except for the young Buffalo that is. ;)
Thank you for watching!
I'm watching it again for the 1st time in a year and it's just amazing. It's hard to believe so many lions can be crammed on to one kill.
I guess passing the salt is out of the question.
😂😂😂
Another feeding-time frenzy with the Kambula Pride-incredibly noisy and quite terrifying, especially if you’re a little cubbie trying to get a meal. With Tinyo and Nhena both present too, that buffalo calf was never going to last long. The Kambula subadults are so beautiful. I wonder how long before the males are ousted from the pride. 😢 Thank you for sharing this amazing sighting, @MalaMala Game Reserve. ❤️🐾😊
Probably soon!
I'm early! I love Mala Mala!! Thank you so much for your videos. I simply adore lions.
Early indeed Donna! Thank you for your support. Enjoy the video! It gets a bit 'rough' when the lions feed but that's nature.
This is an unbelievably interesting video! Thank you so much for sharing this! This helps during Covid! Keep em coming!
Thank you! Will do!
Really and truly awe inspiring footage! The sounds! The various angles! How do you guys manage to capture these moments!! Well done!
Glad you enjoyed it!
For this video it was nice to see the two Biringham Kings Nhenha and Tinyo are doing well with the Kambula pride their starting to get up in their age now I hope they will be around for at least another three years. Thanks for the video take care and be SAFE.
Thank you for watching!
Beginning at 5:O0 makes me 😂😂😂 so hard! What a beautiful pride. Love the Gowrie males for.being tolerant dads but maybe not for long with all those voracious young boys.
Thank you for watching!
I hope over the years kambula pride improves the buffalo hunt👌
They already are making progress Gustavo. Thank you for watching!
We need a bigger buffalo.
They certainly do! Thank you for watching!
Wow! The subadult male at the beginning..his mane is getting to be thick. Those lion sounds!! You have done it yet again guys...Excellent! Be safe.
And thank you again for your support Giraffe Girl 😁
Love the sounds from the lions you are capturing.
That's a very tolerant male
He is indeed
Good morning Rangers.. Love waking up to new videos..
Hope you enjoy it Christine!
Another feast for the awesome kambulas
You know it!
Amazing this pride 👍. It's facination to see all the lions at the kill. 💯
Fascinating indeed Heidemarie! Not so fascinating if you're a buffalo...
This is one of those videos where your on the edge of your seat watch and listening to this unfold. Wow.
😇
Glad you enjoyed it Linda!
Soundtrack to blast out from outdoor loudspeakers on a dark Halloween night.
😂 The town folk will have nightmares!
Best video I've seen by far of lion's feasting . Well done camera man👏👏👏👏
Appreciate that Joshua! Thank you for watching.
This is the best frenzy and most comical I've seen on you tube
Thank you for watching!
Great work guys. A fantastic footage for all the true lion lovers. Stay safe.
Thank you! You too!
Excellent and captivating action MalaMala! Thanks!
Thank you very much James! We appreciate your support.
Wow, that was incredible!
Glad you enjoyed it Jazzy :)
Woof, that was great! Thanks for the beautiful filming.
Glad you enjoyed it Sandarah! Thank you for watching ;)
It’s truly amazing how these lions can eat all that meat with absolutely no seasoning whatsoever.
oh my god !! thi is too much hangry !!thanks for your time and work !!
Did that lioness actually fall asleep at the back? LOOOOL. Don't blame her.
🤣
7:40 I feel sorry for the young lion that's getting wacked in the head twice. Poor little lion. 💔
The cubs do show guts though - getting involved in that ruckus. Then again, they have to eat. Thank you for watching Donna.
@@MalaMalaGameReserve I wish I could come to Mala Mala. Maybe one day. Take care 🙂
that lion has to know it's place in the in the pride
Lolol I felt bad for him too but it WAS pretty funny. Besides, that’s about par for the course when eating with the Kambulas. Besides his ego I think he was just fine. Soon he’ll be the one whacking some cub on the head while they eat XD.
Damn that sound, it's scary, my cat freaked out. Edit: That's a huge pride, how many are they?
😂😂😂 our apologies to your cat. 22 lions in the pride. Thank you for watching!
@@MalaMalaGameReserve 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Cat realizes it's no lion.
This is not the platform to sell your religious beliefs.
The amazing part is how by the 7 minute mark you’ve already forgotten that 8-10 minutes before that the thing they’re laying around was a young Buffalo running around the Savanna with its family.
Although it might sound like an oxymoron with all the fighting and roaring that is going on, but these male lions are probably some of the nicest most tolerant males out there. I have never seen a male lion wait his turn when getting near a kill like that lion did at minute 7:00. Usually males will kick everyone out, especially if the kill is too small. But these males are letting everyone eat and even fight them back. They never seem to strike anyone. And if so it is done gently. Even the cubs are not afraid. One the males was even careful with that last cub who grabbed the leg from his mouth. Also this pride seems to have a few adolescent males. One of them was even standing his ground against one of the males. Many times these young males are exiled around this age, but here they seem safe. I guess these are 21st century male lions. True gentlemen indeed. :)
They are rather tolerant males. However - these females have been quite aggressive towards them in the past - I think that's also in the back of their minds!
@@MalaMalaGameReserve - Too true. And no-one, but no-one, wants to be the subject of the wrath of a bunch of pissed-off Kambula lionesses! 😳🤕
Thank you for going out, putting your own life on the line to bring us these beautiful pictures!!! The gory bits don’t bother me as I’ve seen worse as an RN. I wonder if you’ve ever had close calls with the wildlife?? Being an animal lover I’d want to pet the tiny baby lions but know better! Mama is close by! Haha, I have a toy poodle that’s 7# and she growls like that when you “bother” her when she’s sleeping, or doing something she just isn’t too keen on, even growls at her sister and visa versa but it’s just a show. Big softies at heart! But even they are pack animals with a hierarchy. Thank you again for beautiful nature at its finest ❤️🦁❤️
The pleasure is ours Toni and we are not in any real danger while we're in our Land Rovers. The 'close calls' mostly happen when we're on foot! Thank you for watching!
MalaMala Game Reserve oh I have binged watched your videos and love them! As an RN, the gory bits don’t bother me at all. I sure have learned a lot about lion and animal behavior from you all, I could probably give a lecture on it now 😂. On foot would be scary. I’m sure they are so used to seeing Land Rovers it doesn’t phase them. What would get me if, while pursuing a buffalo or any prey and they jump in the Land Rover accidentally 😧😲 Again, thanks for all you do in bringing Africa to me here in Texas. Now if we could just export our coyotes to you, I’d be great!!! Two coyotes came up on our porch chased me and snatched my little dog from the leash around the neck and poof they were gone!! I tried to save my baby and they were so strong like your spotted dogs! That’s why I’m not fond of them or hyenas. At least they ran off with her and did not take me or ravage her in front of me. The Vet said that her Adrenalin kicked in and she didn’t suffer but I am still....💔 Anyway, thx again!!! ❤️🦁❤️ They are the scabs of Texas!
@@tonistark4169 - I’m so sorry you lost your little dog to coyotes. That must have been a horrific experience. 😢💔🐾 Best wishes from Downunder, Nadine
@@nadineireland3361 aww thanks Nadine!!! It was HORRIFIC! I’ll never get that out if my mind! Thank God two little toy poodles 🐩 that look like Katie (who I lost) rescued me. We named them Cadie, after Katie and Sadie who is black & white where Cadie is all black, like Katie except just under her chin. (white) We are blessed. We will NEVER forget Katie EVER but being rescued help ease the pain. That’s so sweet of you to reply. Love from Texas to you Downunder, 💗 Toni
@@tonistark4169 - My theory is that new dogs don’t replace the ones we’ve lost. Instead our hearts grow bigger to accommodate our love for them all-past and present. ❤️🐾😊
Good video of them lions with all that growling !
Thank you Wykeisha
Your video's are Amazing!!! I am watching them in order straight down you site and they are amazing!!!
Spectacular videography and sound. I wish I could behave at the table like that
Ha! Society would frown down on you Chaim ;) Do it when you're alone! 😂
Very tolerant lion!
To a degree ;)
Beautiful pride! May they thrive and stay safe. While I was watching these lions eating, I thought of the Tsalala queen and her beautiful cub. I mean, I hope they are also eating well, full bellies. So MalaMala, I really hope you will give us an update regarding the Tsalala pride as you had 2-3 weeks' ago. Thanks.
Thank you for watching. We'll give you an update as soon as we have one.
Extraordinary and Awesome and Amazing video's!!!
Nice video, I feel hungry after watching this...time for dinner.
😂
Bad behavior around dinner table. Imagine taking them to the local restaurant :)
That was the local restaurant - you should see them at home! ;)
@@MalaMalaGameReserve They more than welcome I ll probably introduce BBQ :)
🤣
This reminds me of a similar video you guys post last year of a lion feeding frenzy. The sounds!
Nice video. Love Lions
Same here! Thank you for watching.
@@MalaMalaGameReserve Thank you very much. New Sub and by the way can't wait to see more videos on the way.❤❤😊😊
MalaMala Game Reserve Is the Daytime hunt for them different ? Very good Video Thank the all Game Rangers , Please
Hi Ronald. They have indeed been hunting more at night recently. But they have hunted during the day on many occasions. So not necessarily 'different'. Thank you for watching!
That's crazy! There's so many lions on that Buffalo that you can't even see it 😳
Thank you for watching!
It would be very much appreciated if you would name the bird calls you hear out in the tall and uncut! LOVE your videos - you never cut or blur what really happens.....Thank you so much!
Hi Sheri. Thank you for you suggestion. If there are any specific bird sounds in this video or others - please ask in a comment and include the time stamp. We'll gladly point them out.
MalaMala Game Reserve Wow. I feel so important. This reply came from the ENTIRE MalaMala Game Reserve! ;-) I hate to admit to it, but I have absolutely how to include a time mark? If you could tell me, without making me seem too much an idiot, I will do that. Perhaps it would be easier to just say “ALL of them.” (WinkNudge)
0:40 that boy has the face of Mfumo 😍
Thank you for watching Hawk Eye. Who is Mfumo?
@@MalaMalaGameReserve the one who have the scar under his eye and the one who disappearing in June 2018 . We call him Mfumo the 4th Gowrie male lion .
MalaMala Game Reserve Birmingham male #4, Mfumo a.k.a “The authority” The one that disappeared around may 2018.
I am listening with headphones. Never heard the depth of power in their throats.
Fascinating !
They need two buffalos, one is not enough
They will hunt again soon after a meal like this. Thank you for watching!
You know what they say a good meal brings the family together.
Not enough food to go between 18 mouths. I'm curious if they've tried hunting Giraffe or even elephant (although I believe elephant hunting is only see in Botswana)
They have killed giraffe - in fact they killed one after this sighting. And no, they wouldn't dream of going after elephants.
Wow dont ever get in between a lion and his meal, sheeeeesh!
I was waiting for the ridiculous overdubbed musical sound track. Wait a minute, the producer left the natural feeding sounds in the film.🦁
Glad you enjoyed it Jonny.
Has there been confirmation of one of the lionesses being pregnant? This was a speculation during an earlier video. Always wonderful footage by you Rangers. Beautiful part of the world!
Hi Kathleen. Yes, she is pregnant 😊 Thank you again for watching!
4:57 The lion is like he was saying: Can you be quiet PLEASE? We are working here.
Hi there. Thank you for your feedback. We do strive to strike a balance between our commentary and natural sounds - many of our viewers do enjoy the explanations of what is happening. We hope you understand. Thank you for watching.
@@MalaMalaGameReserve I was not complaining my friend. I was simply stating that the look that the male lion gave you at minute 4:57 was as if he was telling you "Be quiet, we are trying to concentrate here". He gave you a mean look. LOL.. Keep posting your videos. They are great. We love these animals.
@@TheWitness1001 - Ha ha! My immediate (flippant) thought was that he was wondering if the camera operator was getting his best side! ❤️🐾😊
Wonderful animals!!!
Thank you Andrea!
@@MalaMalaGameReserve 👍👌💪❤
The picture quality is great
I thought my family were messy eaters, but we never hiked across the dinner table with muddy feet!
The Kambula pride should take lessons on how to hunt buffalos with the pride of nkuhuma 😆👌
😂
Is the other male ok the 2nd one? He looked abit off when he walked in
Hi Blair - we believe he'd already eaten and wasn't as hungry as the rest - didn't feel that he needed to get involved in that frenzy. And who can blame him!
Good morning you guys them lions look so pretty.
Good morning! :)
Just in case you didn't get it I LOVE YOUR VIDEO'S!!!
Violent family dinner
Definitely not for the faint hearted
Nice video long times after also brave lions voice!
Welcome back! Thank you for watching!
Oh man, were so all over that young buffalo we did even see it.
Thank you for watching!
A ? For the rangers. I've seen vids on predators eating prey b4 they're dead. How soon do the prey go into shock from blood loss? Does the prey start to go into shock when the choke hold on the neck or nose is applied? In humans 1/5 blood loss we start the shock process...
Hi Bobby, we don't know the exact answer on time but it's probably quite quick. Shock may result from different things, not just blood loss. Trauma is one of them and so is the a lack of oxygen getting to vital organs - these 2 come into play more often with wildlife.
Great video 👍
Now you know what they mean by the term “behaving like animals”😆
😂
Poor table manners. I fault the Rangers for not stepping in and teaching these magnificent beasts the art of civil dining.
We did try Ray. But gave up after the 3rd ranger became part of the meal...
@@MalaMalaGameReserve Good one! Ha, ha, Ha!
Love it 😅 this is epic table
