SUMMARY:
-Infestations usually start in the kitchen, especially in those dark hard-to-clean spaces behind and under cabinets and appliances.
-Try tucking bay leaves or leaving a clump in those hard-to-clean places. This method may take a lot of bay leaves and patience, but it’s a nice natural way to send roaches packing.
You can use garlic or onion powder, and sprinkle it in and around their favorite hangout spots.
-The lemon juice will effectively repel these pests, and your kitchen will smell amazing too!
-Just fill a medium-sized spray bottle with mostly vinegar, and add enough drops of peppermint essential oil so that you can smell it. Spray your kitchen and bathroom.
-Neem oil keeps away a lot of insects and pests because it contains a certain chemical that’s poisonous to them.
-Cockroaches and similar pests breathe through the pores of their shells and skin, so when they start crawling around in this soap, the borax will get the job done.
-Put some fresh catnip leaves in a sachet - you know, those little sheer drawstring bags usually used for steeping tea - or other porous bag. Cockroaches can’t stand it.
-Once you’ve put the traps together, place them in the spots where you think the roaches are coming from, like nice dark places for them to look for food and water.
-The sweet sugary smell attracts roaches, so they eat the powder mixture. Once they take a drink of water, it reacts with the baking soda, and, well, let’s just say the roaches get a bad case of bubble guts.
-Cut a sizable strip of duct tape off the roll, maybe about the length of your forearm. Put the strip sticky-side-up, and fold down each end so that it’s easy to pick up and dispose of later on. You’ll also need a bait.
-The cockroaches will climb in to go after the bait, but they won’t be able to climb back up the slippery surface to escape.
-Roaches are drawn to the smell of coffee too, so they’ll climb in after the grounds but won’t be able to get out since they’re not the greatest of swimmers.
-If you try any of these natural remedies over time but it doesn’t seem to make a difference, then it’s probably high-time to call a professional!

@@TheTriangle444 it's concerning if you're saying that isn't a solution cuz you must maintain your house clean...bro, just keep your house clean. Though, I do agree that you should seal off crevices and holes regardless.
Keeping your house clean to ward off roaches is a myth. They will come in due to extremely hot weather or over abundance of rain. Also, what was not mentioned is that they like cardboard containers like cereal boxes, etc. what I do is after grocery shopping I take everything I can out of the boxes and put the products in air tight plastic containers. That also helps to keep mice from nibbling on your food stuff. Just my suggestions. They work for me.

Even the slightest grains of sugar on a countertop can attract roaches. Those aluminum door sweepers that are drilled onto the outside of the front door work great. They can't get through the bristles and go away. But unfortunately, many people live in apartment buildings where they clean, night and day but have surrounding neighbors who refuse to let exterminators in, so it's a big problem. And if it's a private house next door it's coming from.. forget it! you have to move.
Also trailer parks, those are just nasty bug parks, once 1 gets roaches or bed bugs forget it, you might wanna just move

@CJB OCD roaches in the states have been around for ages. I think it has to do with climate as in in Sweden it's a lot colder than in the states. I'm pretty sure Canada or even Alaska has a lot less roaches too.

Hello, thanks for the useful tips, shall try them out .
Great ideas to eliminate roaches.
True story: I once received a phone call. I politely said, "Hello?" The lady on the other end responded, "Yeah, let me talk to Roach." Confused and thinking what a strange nickname, I replied, "Sorry, I think you have the wrong number." Without missing a beat she then said, "All those roaches in your house and you won't let me talk to one?" Then she hung up without letting me reply. One of the best prank calls I'd ever gotten. 10/10
XD
Ok
If she phoned back, I wonder what she'd say if you put the phone up to a roach and had it on speaker, and told her you'll pass her over to him 🤣🤣🤣
Personal note about borax: you can sprinkle that stuff all over (every room in your house on the floor) even with an infestation of roaches and fleas and it'll do the job. It takes a while but I was able to basically eliminate a bad infestation with just borax. Don't ask how long exactly, I think it was about a month before the fleas died off then a bit longer for the roaches.
Diatomaceous earth works just like borax, and will also eliminate fleas and roaches - even in carpets.
@@suzannereiter3600 oh really? Do I put it in the carpet or what because I have a carpet and I see reaches.

How many times did you have to reapply? Also I’ve read that you must make sure the layer of borax is thin, if it’s caked on the cockroaches won’t walk on it.

Hello thanks for the info your channel is soooo interesting
I am waiting for this Video for a Long time!
I'm immediately trying most of your suggestions, especially the coffee grinds. If they work you'll change my life!!!
Did they work I gotta know 🤔
I had a roach problem not too long ago. They only live for a year or so, but they multiply very fast and before you know it they will form a colony in your home. Before exterminating them I studied them for a period of time. They are nocturnal, extremely photosensitive, once you turn on the lights they'll scatter immediately. I also saw them eat fresh onion and garlic. They can climb well, but steel, say a steel sink is a trap for them as it's too smooth. They like dark places to make their nest where they hide during the day such as in wall cabinets, behind and under furniture, drawers and similar dark confined places especially where human presence is scarce.
Is there a way to get rid of them without calling exterminator
My exterminator said our are comeing from pipes what to do about it?
🤔 (considers putting LED lighting everywhere in the kitchen cabinets)

None of these things work as well as Combat. Years ago I rented a place, but before I moved in, I realized it was infested with roaches. I almost didn't move in, but a friend of mine who was an exterminator told me to get Combat at the grocery store and put a couple of boxes all over the house. Within a week, there wasn't a trace of a Roach and I never got them again the whole time I lived there. The active ingredient in Combat is what exterminators use.
That's true, I cleared out a place I was moving in to with Combat as well. And just like you, within one week we had them cleared out
Combat is VERY good, however I've seen it fail many times:if you are in an older building with a major infestation, it generally does little.
