“I’m a sinner, I’m an old sinner - but you forgive yourself and you move on”
A true master. He's been killing it once again in Westworld.
He was phenomenal in Westworld, hope he gets the Emmy for it!
hello from the future
too bad violent delights have violent ends...
nah he's back
Hopkins, when he said Clarice, did you realize that Hannibal lector is still behind him
He is one of the most humble actors I've ever heard of.
But you have heard of him.. :D
Don’t kid yourself.
Not necessarily . Swiss actor Bruno Ganz was very humble man. An absolutely fantastic actor , extremely intelligent, and very sweet person.. It is just we do not know any actors from Europe.
So nice to come to him from the fake Ben Kingsley.
@@slavvalb3933 how do you know she’s heard of Bruno Ganz 🤷♀️ he could be the most humble man in the world but if she hadn’t heard of him he won’t be the most humble man she’s ever heard of. And why would we not know actors living in the same place we live? 🤔
What I admire the most about Anthony Hopkins is his HONESTY.
Anthony Hopkins is the most active old actor ever lived. amazing
Mr. Hopkins is getting sharper by the age, living legend.
Mbv of mop
He's always been sharp..
All these years later with all the success and fame he's still just a down to earth lovely humble guy. Love him.
"im always very insecure, as we all are.." how can you be insecure? "well, that's being human, that's being alive" I love that ~ most humble man of such fame and a net worth of +130mil USD ~ incredible
Nixon, Remains of the Day , Howard's End , Silence of the Lambs .Brilliant career Sir Anthony Hopkins
"I love being on my own", being an aspergers like him, I understand that.
I am from german.Sorry for my bad english.I like him as actor and i have sighs of asberger but not a test in my life.I hear his orginal voice.A nice guy.
Me too. I love having friends and meeting people, but I really need to be alone a lot and I love it more than anything
Haha aspergers what a weird condition that is. I do have the condition myself and what's weird is that i like people ALOT but that dosent matter, my feelings turns off when im around people for to long. I tell them Okey my asperger just took away all my feelings! Bye I go home now to sleep not worth being awake. Always the same chapter and I always gets super angry and frustrated that it's even possible to happen.
Lived in LA since the 70s... still has Welsh accent. Leg-end
NC2871926 Great voice. I could listen to him read a 1980s phone book.
“I thought it was a children’s story, Silence of the Lambs.” *I bet it was a bit of a shock when he got the script* 😂😂😂
Love how he explained his nature of being a "recluse" … He had no shame in it and didn't make it sound depressing. A lot of people assume that its a bad thing or that their is something wrong with someone who doesn't have a lot of friends. If you can still care about people, communicate and enjoy the company when it is there, then there's nothing wrong with it.
That's me! I full agree.
Well, it does suggest that he doesn't trust males, Colour me surprized..
@@SightForMemories what do you mean and why are you surprised or were you being sarcastic? If so, why?
People often think solitude and loneliness are synonymous.
Exactly!
I have never seen a man at this age...with so much IT, PIZZAZ and sex appeal, he is freekin awesome!

My mother worked with him once when she was a child. Said he was one of the nicest people she had ever met, always ready to play games and do magic tricks for the children on set.
and 5 years later he won the Oscar for a 2nd time . LEGEND .
He turns up at So Cal AA speakers meetings. I wouldnt break his anonymity, but since his talks are on youtube I feel it's ok. Listen to it if you REALLY want to know this great man.
RIP Larry King
These days there are too many personalities and not enough actors. But Anthony Hopkins is an ACTOR. He leaves me awestruck he is so talented.
ohsnapiam59 I think the exact opposite is the truth. In the acting world that is.
Mr. Blunt how so do you figure? I see ‘personalities’ as meaning people interested in being famous and being on magazine covers, and ‘actors,’ as people who are genuinely interested in the work, and so the quality of work is better. How do you see it differently? (I’m not asking for a fight, I’m genuinely curious about how you see this, because I haven’t heard this point of view before.)
Its insane that he’s still at the top of his game after all this time. I mean I’m Gen Z and knew who he was early on but it was Westworld where I really learned how truly brilliant he was and after that made sure to watch his older films, how the hell in his 70s he can still give such a masterful performance in Westworld that rivals his best roles, and now in One Life too, or The Father. A true legend.
I love Anthony Hopkins cause hes real as shit.
When he said "good morning" I may have shat myself
Thanks for sharing!
this guy is a legend, if you want an actor, see this guy's movies. He's an actor that brings it all.
Hopkins, Daniel Day Lewis, Pacino, and few more old fellas are the golden core of Cinema. Without them, 90% of Hollywood is gone.
Director of Silence of the Lambs: "You're playing Hannibal Lector, you can't be scary by just saying "Good Morning Clarice"! Anthony Hopkins: "Hold my Chianti"
Just for the record, it's _Lecter_ . Great comment though! 😆
a Hopkins and DeNiro movie, god I want to see that.
Ive kinda grown tired in a way of DeNiro, cause basically _every_ mafia movie has him and It's just that, he NEVER sucks. He's just always great. And when I see him do the same thing 7 times it just starts to get stale... Great actor nonetheless. :) I just wish he was cast in different types of characters. If anyone has suggestion I'm willing to listen
I want to see a movie with him and Glenn Close that would be so fucking scary. And I would love to see him work a third time with Emma Thompson and a second time with Jodie Foster.
Hannibal Lector and a Max Cady mash up would be cool to see!
Deniro is a idiot.
DeNiro died in the 90s as far as im concerned.
I'm not just saying this as a fellow Welshman, but Antony Hopkins is the greatest of all actors. A huge star with a zero ego!
I mean... "Hannibal Lector is one of my favorite roles, because it was so easy!" 🤔💪🏻😂
Tudor Agreed
He was praising the writing of the character saying it made Him easy to play
The UK is still run by monsters. You are my Hero Anthony Hopkins. Thank you. You sure as heck showed the bullying British Academic Elites. I love that. I know you did it for yourself. But you give everyone hope. You are a very intelligent man. God bless you. ♥️♥️♥️♥️
an actor everyone would love to be friends with, doesnt have friends
he has aspergers could explain it
He’s Autistic, while I have friends. I definitely understand what he means about liking being alone.
He is what he is, no adamant behaviours, or ravish dealings, just a plain guy.
@@SightForMemories A plain Autistic guy.
@@briandooley1516 Mental indescrepancies is not a death sentence, you can still live in harmony, just not in the same way.
Here after I just saw him give the best performance I've seen any actor give in THE FATHER. Definitely his career best. What a masterpiece of an actor.
His voice is my inner monologue.
So real
Hopkins Antony es un hombre hermoso !!!!
De Niro and Hopkins in a movie, Hollywood, make it happen.
He is an example of what can be achieved if you you live a life true to yourself. That is why he is such a great actor and why he is so liked. He is in touch with himself. He knows who he is. Actually, that is the essence of enlightenment.
You know, I think you're right!
That's the price you have to pay for being a genius , a real genius i mean , you never fit in quite well because you are almost every time few steps ahead and others can't keep up and sir Anthony Hopkins is a genius , really wonderful person , with manners , educated like a walking wikipedia really , not to mention his acting skills , we all know who he is in front of a camera and what he is capable of doing ...Brilliant !
Favorite actor ever.
Rip Larry King 🪦 🙏🏻
I watched that one crappie Transfromers movie just cause of him!!!!! SPECTACULAR ACTOR!!!!
*When He said 'Clarice' i passed out.*
The part where he said that he likes people but love being on his own, just might have cured my depression
I used to know a girl who lives in his old house in Port Talbot. He went round and visited his old house and had tea with them. You can't get any more normal and humble than him.
There is always something about Hopkins that when I see him, I can just see an endless amount of wisdom, intelligence, and talent.
This man is a genius, would be really cool to have a conversation and pick his brain (not literally like Hannibal did)
+RC What would u ask him?
Verkkariritari I would love to just talk get to no him the real Antony... just thought I'd just in there ha
RC We know you love fried brain 😋 with a glas of mellow red 🍷
RC hahahaha 😂
Ha!
Anthony Hopkins' Hannibal Lecter is one of the most impressive performances I've seen. I really get the monstrousness in his performance, but also the impression that he's a likeable person.
De Niro? Wow such a humble answer from one of the greatest actors about another one. You can feel a lot if respect. Hannibals portrayal will stay unforgettable.
"Remains of the day", this movie is a gem.

"What's your favourite curse word?" "Beep." What a coincidence. That's my favourite, too.
I know it is a rapid-fire Q&A but having such a legend in front of you is this really the right format instead of having a conversation.
He's so powerful, like he just commands so much respect and admiration!
Gentle soul .. the mark of either the very young, or the very strong ❤️❤️❤️
he is powerful, the only reason why I watch westworld he runs the show cant imagine the show being better without him

Remains of the Day... One of the best movies of all time
I find him to be very fascinating. love the guy
A class act in any role
I love how Anthony just does not want to say that most of Hollywood are vicious monsters and thats why he is not friends with any of them. Makes me respect him even more.
I was happy when said that his favourite role was in (remains of the day) because it was my favourite movie and I think it’s underrated.
A true legend.
Amazing Atheist Yes and not an atheist. "Being an atheist must be like living in closed cell without any doors or windows" Sir Anthony Hopkins.
GamerDares wins It’s quite the opposite.
Remains of the Day!! By far my favorite Tony Hopkins film. Pleased to hear he agrees.
And now he’s a two-time Oscar winner. Congrats, Tony 💙💜
Wow, he mentioned "Remains of the Day" first.. to me that is his best role..
Oh yes, finally some one who shares my opinion! That was my first thought, too! Nothing against The Silence of the Lambs, obviously! Hannibal Lecter might have been greatest piece of art, his most breathtaking 'creature' to portray, but Mr. Stevens is the very very best job he's ever done portraying a human being! You could feel the man's pain with the slightest move of his finger! Sublime...

I really liked him in The Elephant Man, one of my favorite Tony Hopkins roles.
What a legend
the bad side of having such a memorable role is that most of the comments are about just one of his many great performances. granted it as a career making role, but hes made many other great things, I loved him in The Edge where he shows how humble he can be. his latest role i westworld is another tour de force from the great man
the edge is the best man. It would be nice to see him and Baldwin back on some project together in the future.
A humble genius.
Remains of the Day is a great one.
Best actor !
He was born. To be an actor
Hopkins is wonderful. Underrated film, "Meet Joe Black."
loved that film though i remember cringing when he kissed his daughters in the film on the lips i thought thats a bit cheeky hopkins, do parents really kiss their adult kids on the lips did i not get that memo.
I have been saying this for years.. he was absolutely amazing on that film. Couldn't agree more
@@lucamolta Yes. Many parents do. I disagree with it.
i mean its ok if your not really bothered about kissing your folks but if its a slow non european go for the lips kinda kiss thats weird. im only talking about adults kids whatever cute. Hopkins is not their real father so if anything that took me out of the film straight away because its not a popular thing.
Love that film on so many levels
One of my favourite Welsh actors. He stated that Jodi Foster was the best actress he has worked with but he never actually worked or even met her in the making of Silence of the Lambs
I appreciate him that much, especially for his sincerity when he said about his former alcohol addiction, he had suffered a lot about, and he did a hard work to get rid of his ghosts.... He deserves all his awards, he's a great actor as well...
What an intellect. We don't deserve his like...as such. We need to appreciate his contribution and his craft!
Anthony gives me hope for my own life.
Britain's answer to DeNiro and Pacino. And boy did they nail it !
I want to see a movie with him and Sylvester Stallone.😀
Love Hopkins. He's amazing in The Remains of the Day.
Him in The Elephant Man is so underrated
''There's something in Lecter that's good, but basically mad.'' What a suggestion!
When he says Clarice I get all giddy haha
it takes me back to that scene
He is the master, you can’t not help but like the man. The Hopkins is always so brutally honest and I think that’s what makes him super cool. He is the man the legend and he always will be
So refreshing to hear that he doesn't have 'buddies'. Would love to join him on his travels if he could tolerate a navigator.

5:13 The eyes. He turns into Lector for a moment
It's _Lecter_ , just for the record! Yeah instantly gave me chills, too! 🤩
Lol. Hopkins gave an interesting performance in The Silence of the Lambs
@@tiearts I'm sorry, I.N.T.E.R.E.S.T.I.N.G. ?! Matt Damon gave an interesting performance in The Talented Mr. Ripley, Anthony Hopkins' portrayal of Hannibal Lecter was hands down divine! 🙌🏻
I LOVE Anthony Hopkins He is a Master in His Art❤
He is a gift to the cinema.
what a man.
Jonathan Demme: There's something in Lecter that is good, but basically mad. "... and i said i got him" - Anthony Hopkins on playing Lecter.
Love him. Remains of the day my favourite movie too. 🤗
Love the fact he said he loves been alone. Iv been saying that to people for years and get all sorts of looks !!
His performance in Remains of the Day is phenomenal.
Totally agreed! That was one of his Top 5 performances!
The best ones are always the most humble ones.
He is truly one of my favorites ❤

I LOVE SIR ANTHONY HOPKINS!!!
I love him. he's so smart
This dude is a really cool person
I'm having Fava Beans & a Nice Chianti while watching this ...
Seein him just chill and chat is insane to me. Like a unicorn
You are so beautiful and lovely dear for me you learn me each days and beleive it dear Sir Anthony Hopkins 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Absolute legend
Anthony reminds me of my uncle, he is a remarkable respectable person in his community but he is not a people person, and has few friends
His voice is amazing well spoken
Fantastic , His role in Bligh is very good and makes me laugh.
It's great to see him back with such good material in Westworld. He had amazing success in the 1990s with Silence of the Lambs, the Merchant Ivory stuff, Nixon, Shadowlands and Amistrad. I'd love see him work with De Niro as well, and Pacino - and Michael Caine again(I know they were both in "A Bridge Too Far").
Shadowlands one of my favourite films
