I'm stealing.
Came here to comment the same thing!
*tips fedora*
I loved that one also! LOL
This will become part of the lexicon.
You are absolutely correct on Rolex. Well done. When the shortage ends, why should we support AD’s who didn’t support us?
There’s no “shortage” bro
@@clambake3771 Nor will it ever end
What shortage? It's all made up.
@@Slapdash1it will end for a lot of their models. Pretty sure most of their line up is available these days outside of the Daytona, GMT and a handful of rare dial combos. Not sure why anyone is paying over retail for a sub either.
@@Slapdash1 Funnest thing I've ever heard. Everything will end, you included.

underrated
My ex brother in law has absolutely no qualifications whatsoever .. and just BS's his way through life and is earning £75 k upwards ... although I'm sure he gets these jobs.. just so that people don't have to listen to his false name dropping and BS ..
"A mausoleum for a once great watchmaker." Brilliant description.
Andrew, this video demonstrates why you are on people's top 10 list of favorite watch KZheadrs. Not only is your voice so velvety that it could soothe a rabid tiger into docility, but your commentary is so wonderfully witty, so replete with memorable one liners, puns and humorous analogies that you could put most stand-up comedians to shame. Even if someone were not into watches, I would recommend them listening to your commentary on watches to illustrate what a wordsmith truly is!
Thank you 😊
Wit on par with Dennis Miller or the late great George Carlin
Bloody hell, mate! I couldn't help but read your comment in his velvety voice. 😂And now, "goodbye."
You guys need to get a room 😘 😂
I read it imagining his voice.
Congrats on 200K subs. Well deserved.
Jeez you really are knocking it out of the park. I never comment, but your quality output, deep knowledge and lightness of touch are really a joy.

I swear they make the ugliest watches in the industry, I don’t care how complicated the movements are

I made a more detailed post saying the exact same thing. What am I missing?. or are we the philistines here?
Nah guys I agree with this, RM look terrible
They look like lego watches
Amazing, witty, sense of humour I thoroughly enjoy in every video. Easily one of my favourite KZheadrs. Keep on the great work!
Disappointed that Spaghetti Scametti didn't make the cut..... 🙂
They are better than Rolex, Patek and Omega combined...It even says on their website.
@@EricPach 😂😂
This is the worst watch brand list, not the best. Scametti will always have that perfect trifecta of beauty, craftsmanship and credibility that most brands can only dream of.
@@ProfessorPesca Hahaha - good point!
@@ProfessorPesca yes, they are made from exotic materials like forged paper mache
Your video’s are getting better and better. So much fun and knowledge in them.
So good to have you on you tube . Thank you.
Andrew, yours is the most entertaining watch channel I know. Others try their hand at it, but you actually have important things to say amidst the clever humor. Great stuff!
Im so glad you went your way with AMW. Videos are ace, great combination of detailed information and humor.
You absolutely nailed it - again! Well done👍☺️
Brilliant video andrew ! Lots of knowledge and comedy . Just wondering if you and tom will be doing back and forth videos , they were always a joy ! Big fan , thanks for the content !
That Panerai was savage. I've seen a better finish on a 1970 Timex movement.
Yes put me right off them. He just saved me a small fortune.
Spot on with Rolex in particular. When I can walk into the dealer and plop my money down and walk out with the Rolex I want. Then I might.
Thank you Andrew for the pleasure of watching your content free from any commercial cause ❤
Thank you Andrew, and congrats on the 200k.
You are such a writer. Not only an expert in horology and someone with such good notions of aesthetics and technology in the industry, but you write with such poetry. It is always great to hear you... ❤️
Great video again! I agree with most of your thoughts, but I really hope some of the brands like Breguet and Blancpain will listen and work hard to regain their previous glory!
Just discovered your channel last night. I am absolutely enjoying you content. Thanks for keeping it really.
Andrew, you're literal watch royalty (well deserved, if i may add- with your level of knowledge and passion for watchmaking.) It should be a literal walk in the park for you to get any Daytona (or GMT) of your dreams.
Watching this video should be made mandatory for all of the CEO's for these watch brands. Absolutely spot on and to the point, well done Sir!
Exceptionally well written and entertaining vid. Just subbed...
Very informative and entertaining! Really enjoyed Andrew's sense of humor, too.
return to form, I would say.... the last video this good was back in the days when you reviewed Omega seamaster aquaterra vs Rolex (despite my Omega going back to be serviced twice in two years I still wear this watch)
Ah Andrew, you had me in stitches throughout all of that. So many genius quotes in there I’m going to have to replay this over and over again!
Very nice!!! (That patreon list is quite funny! lol, for sure it will grow!)
It needs updating me thinks as I’m not listed, not that I need publicity.
Another great video Andrew, educational and entertaining. Especially the section on DW. Icky is so spot on! Biver "It looks like an Invicta" So true about Rolex, especiall the part of the sales person in a shiny suit.
Andrew, I love how you slip in Simpson's quotes. Keep it up!
On top form with this one Andrew. Brilliant 👏👏👏
Hi Andrew and good luck to your new channel. One recommendation: use the partitioning feature of KZhead for your videos so that viewers can navigate easier through it!
Priceless content. Very well done!
Swiss trying to promote a watch through skateboarding. I am 100% sure why other watch brands especially the ones under the same umbrella ( Richemont ) kept their mouths shut is because they wanted to see what a massive train wreck it would be.
Oh how I missed this wit! Incredibly entertaining, knowledgeable and funny vid.
Kinda sad to see Breguet in the list but I’m agree with you. One of their watches, the Classique 5177BR/15/9V6 is actually the one I am saving up to buy. (I guess I’m a weird guy who likes something that looks vintage with roman numerals)
Looking at a 2011 yellow gold marine right now, same price as a steel Rolex Sub GMT. Makes no sense.
Bro, your humor is on a different level, like an undipped biscoti, I love it
Loved the perfect use of the Abe Simpson quote! LOL
I really think Blancpain could attract more buyers with a 39 or 40mm new release.
Thier "women's models" are 38. Silly dial colors and bracelet. Tudor is dominating simply for listening to people a d releasing tasteful 39 ans 37mm watches, nothing more.
That's what she said
They have just launched a 42mm which with its short lugs wears more like a 40mm
Watch snobs talk a big game about Blancpain’s history and legacy, yet very few pull the trigger. Too expensive for fairly unremarkable looking watches that next to no one would ever recognize or comment on
The issue with Blancpain is they are expensive and don't offer the value prop or features seasoned collectors value such as proper proportions. What do they offer over a Rolex Submariner besides some "history" and "better finishing". If that is all they can sell and it wears like a hockey puck they will remain where they are.
Looking forward to U-Boat's new offering, The Final Solution.
Wow.
"Oh no, my watch disappeared! I've heard rumours it's been seen in Argentina..."
It's like Hamilton offering up the Nagasaki and Hiroshima as their new pilot watches.
If Seiko offers the Kamikaze watch I would be first in line. Not even kidding... the history just too good of making a cheap one time use watches is quite insane. Funny thing Seiko museum just calls it "1940 pilots watch" LOL.
Or “the V2”. Or perhaps a tank watch called “the tiger”. Or… I could go on and they would get ever more cringe. Dachau, anyone?
Your mention of Jean-Claude Biver brought to mind his collaboration with Norqain. I don’t really hear many watch KZhead channels talk about Norqain and wondering what your thoughts are on this brand. I’ve handled their white opaline dial freedom gmt and the glacier dial neverest, both were finished very nicely and looked ace. The only thing holding me from getting one is their price is close or exact to what I can get from Tudor or Omega. I wanna get my first luxury piece this coming year when I turn 40 and contemplating the purchase of one.
I really enjoyed this. Well done sir.
Excellent video 🎉 very well said 👏
I liked that very subtle reference to Blancpain as “white bread” I see what you did there Mr. Morgan… 😂😂😂 Honestly, I’d listen to you narrate paint drying at an accounting conference. Keep it up sir!
Yo great stuff! I'm not a fan of sci-fi but seriously considering checking out the books, esp. if they are anything like the narration here. Cheers, Andrew!
I absolutely love how you narrate and bring forward examples in a very visual manner. The way you depict the conversation and the way it flows is just amazing
Excellent video! I laughed out loud when you whispered “my wife”. You will forever be the OG. Thank you for continuing on.
Another 🔥 video by AMW! 🙌🏻🙌🏻
That bizarre video from Roger Dubuis had me both cringing and laughing. Another great video!
It takes a certain amount of elegance to appreciate Breguet. Thank god most people lack it.
I think everyone appreciates Breguet. They just don't want 'em.
Lotˋs of people lack style. Thank god someone gave them Rolex…
One of your best Andrew!
Why does everyone get this wrong? Blancpain is not the oldest watchmaker in the world. The oldest is Gallet & Co. Founded in 1466, that’s 558yrs of operation!! To top it off, they are still independently owned family company to this day. A long time ago I was participating in a watch forum and this same statement came up, to which I replied as I just did. Much to my surprise, I received a reply from Nicholas Hayek Sr, pointing out that I was indeed correct, and jokingly ended with they still won’t sell the company to me. I saved that email, I think I will have to look it up in my backups, so I can post a screenshot of it. Great channel Andrew, I am rooting for your success!!
Absolutely. I wonder why nobody seems to have heard of them.... They did start out making clocks rather than watches, though, if I'm not mistaken? And do they make watches now?
Yes they are still making watches today. Most of watches they make for public consumption seem to sell out almost instantly. I know they also make watches for many other manufacturers and governments. So they are difficult to get ahold of unless you go used.
@@michaelpetrik334 thanks 👍🏽
The German term "u-boot" describes both civilian, research and military submarines, like the term "submarine"
True, but there are those in the watch world who seem not to worry about making, selling, buying or wearing replicas of things designed to Nazi and Fascist specifications and used for those purposes. I’ve been reading and viewing watchy internet content for 20 years (not, I admit, exhaustively) and Andrew is the first commentator I’ve seen point this out.
Wow. Andrew is at his best - exquisite and elaborate vocabulary combined with a sharp, straight to the point look. Like a cruise missile, which can navigate through a complex terrain to precisely hit the designated target. Bravo!
The vicious quips are coming faster than Addison DeWitt and Margot Channing at the Cub Room! ( and Congrats on 200K! )
Andrew, you are the Roger Bennett of Horology. Thanks for being you! Great video. ❤
I simply come here to listen to Andrew, whatever he's talking about 🤣🤣
I bought a beautiful Rolex solid-gold President with the MOP dial and Roman numerals about 15 year ago, but the price skyrocketed, so I put it away only for special occasions after its 10-year service interval. I was forced to get a cheaper Air-King 116900 for daily wear (I thought about the latest iteration, but I prefer an oyster case). I have tried Breitling (1953 reissue) and looked at Omega, but I just can’t shake my love for Rolex. So, one of the worst is still the best for my wrist! Great content, as always. I’m sure your newest endeavor will be a smashing success, Andrew. Cheers!
Finally you uploaded
You nailed it ! Couldn't agree more...I wish Breguet and Blancpain did something, but Swatch Group focuses only on Omega it seems...also aligned with you on your last pick ;)
Hello Andrew, I’ve been following you for many years now and you just outdid yourself again 😅, great vid and your comments are hilarious 🤣. Please keep up with your great content and all best from Sweden…..please forgive us for the DW, we are still wondering here in our country how this could happen 🤑
Continue to watch. I just purchased a Casio Calculator Illuminator for fun. Lights up when you turn your wrist. Cheap crappy watch, but 100% Gold. Time , date, year, Calculator, Data storage, Alarm and cool. I collect vintage Seiko, but love the reviews and your new channel.
Great video and I must agree with all the brands that make this list even though my watch collection encompasses two Rolexes (the classic Sub and the James Cameron), a discontinued Blancpain Air Command all-steel chronograph, and a Seiko. And to boot, the next watch on my must-have list is yet another brand that makes your list: Panerai (I'm saving for the 47mm Submersible). I like dive watches and all these brands make great ones, although I agree with why Rolex, Blancpain, and Panerai make the list!
Blancpain and Breguet are Amazing Quality watches. Some up there, if not better than the Trinity brands. However, being part of the Swatch group conglomerate, IMO, has ruined the heritage and image of these iconic brands. Bioceramic Breguet next? Anyone?
Andrew, mate, if all else fails, you do have _the most fantastically soothing voice_ with amazing dynamic range, and a career as a voice actor is yours for the taking 👍😉
Daniel Wellington 😂
If only Rolex watched this video and received the message about how poorly most of us are treated by the AD's when all we want to do is buy a watch like we could before Covid. Well put Andrew.
Problem is Rolex likes this situation. Despite many models being valued now below retail prices, it’s still fueling hype, scarcity and manufactured prestige. The most desired models are still vastly unavailable. It allows Rolex to raise prices systematically and therefore increase their profits. I’m afraid in the next 20 years we’ll see a decline in the industry and no one will land harder on their ass, than Rolex.
@@Mr_Paw_revised I feel the same way. In the 1960’s Mercedes made their cars hard to get before introducing the C Class to appeal to more buyers. Rolex and the AD experience is a turn off for anybody who has dignity.
they know and don't care. how many singers mention omega or iwc in their songs? :)
@@ivanovooko I'll bet it's coming. My brother and his circle are "insta-rolexers" (i.e. they know nothing about watches except what misinformation the influensers provide them). And even though every single one of them sports a datejust now, they are quietly starting to whisper about the Seamaster as the legend. When everyone got a datejust, and they can't tell a Rolex from Tudor, they're starting to look elsewhere for their perceived horology-swag and uniqueness.
Really really good analysis
hehe 🤣 good video... I like the design of Biver watches actually... Nothing beats the low point of Panerai's snap on case back..
if this whole watch thing doesn’t work out, u have a bright future in comedy. i had no idea you were so funny 😂
Putting Breguet on this list really annoys me. What they're guilty of is not exploiting their brand and churning out overpriced stainless steel sports watches. They are what they are which are high horology watches that exhibit amazing levels of craftsmanship. A classique blows a calatrava out of the water in terms of what you are actually getting.
I think the point he was making went over your head a bit…
Putting Rolex there was a gutsy one. Appreciate it. They are literally relying on the historical models and some decisions that made them iconic. Otherwise what they have done in recent years
If you want to know what Rolex has done in recent years, start by looking at the Omega catalog and look at everything Omega have copied from Rolex.

Brilliant, just brilliant entertainment, as well as informative. You should be, hopefully will be, at 1 million subs soon. I view many watch channels, yet yours is still the most enjoyable and informative. As for the content on this vid, damn, the Breguet, as an owner of a special piece, plu my second favourite brand, that has a marketing attitude as frustrating as that woman you love, yet is always causing havoc in your life. Then to Blancpain, which, for all its good product, is lost in the forest. As for the others, you have described them perfectly. Cheers!
Didn't a certain Andrew Morgan once own a U-Boat? Congrats on 200k!
Yes he did, and he's made a video apologizing for it.
To quote Frank Drebin: "Nice Biver!"
😂 classic
Surely, you're not serious...
@@chipmartin7608 He is and don't call him Shirley..
My favorite worst brand is Piaget. The make some fantastic watches, have a great history and undeniable luxury credentials. And what they do with all that greatness? Literally NOTHING. When they came out with the Polo 79, I was quite enthusiastic, but the pricetag of 73K is simply ridiculous for what you get (a no complications gold watch). Who the heck is this even for?!
"It's like David Lynch drank lead paint" 11/10 video and very insightful. I wanted to say Universal Genève, but its recent acquisition by Breitling might revive the long-dead brand over the next couple of years (Breitling CEO estimates 2 years) and I'm very excited for that.
Lots of fun, this was a great list. Wasn’t there a certain legendary KZheadr that used to own a U-Boat? Who wore it while riding (and crashing) a motorbike?
Such delicious dialogue. Thanks for the time you take to write these scripts.
You'll surely take the place of sir David Attenborough when time's due 😂 brilliant
About time the word got out. Bravo, Andrew.

I'm a budget-watch man. (Over £200? Not interested.) However, I'm also a fan of stand-up, and comedy in general, so I watch your channel, about watches I'll never afford, simply for the giggles. You are, if you'll forgive me saying, funny as fk. Thank you.

Another great video 😎
Great point with Rolex, I've been fortunate enough to not have to deal with waitlist, both watches I was able to get within two weeks of asking. Love the brand but like you said, you shouldn't have to feel like they are the ones doing you a favor of owning one. A big cause of all of this is the secondary market.
Back in the 90´s. Walk into an AD, "I really like the Submariner" Sure, cash or Card? No nonsense, waitlist, buying history BS. As much as I still like the crown on the dial I hate the faff they built around it.
Not forgetting a discount. Bought my gold day date in 2009. Walked in, liked it and got 10% off.
Andrew quoting Abraham Louis Breguet Simpson is almost perfect. Just needed to hang an onion off his belt. Which was the style at the time.
I just took delivery of a Rolex Sprite, it took me two years, five months and four days but I had zero purchase history, I was just annoying and stopped in every month or two to play with the display model. That being said I had a great purchase experience when my time came and it felt like a dream, the sprite was the only model Rolex has made that caught my eye and it will be going in many adventures with me.
The Baume bit was great. ‘brain sharting’ lol.
