❗You can substitute lupin flour for chickpea flour
🥣 Ingredients:
7oz | 200g | 1 cup yellow lentils
5oz | 150g | 2/3 cup cabbage
1 onion
2tbsp lupin flour
1 oz | 30g | 1 cup parsley leaves
🥣Seasoning:
1/8tsp turmeric powder
1tbsp cumin seeds
1inch | 2cm ginger
1 garlic clove
salt and black pepper to taste

  • In India most of our daily cooking is vegan, we did not know about this term "Vegan" but realized that we have always been making it! also bcos Vegetarian food which is mostly vegan is very poplular in India with infinite varieties. We also make probiotic ( fermented) foods like idli/dosa as our daily breakfast.

  • In India we make the same with gram flour and coriander leaves using the ground yellow lentil with cabbage and green chilli to make it on fry pan called thepla or vadi.( cake) in oil...

    • Thepla is totally a different flat bread, it is thin and made to wheatflour with flavorings. , I assume you are referring to handwa. Wadi is more like flavored pasta because it needs to be cooked in water or curry.

    • I wish the Indian restaurants in the US would do more vegan. They unfortunately cater to the meat and dairy population of the US. ☹️ I don't live in a big city where I'm sure there are plenty of Indian restaurants that have more traditional "vegan" Indian dishes.

  • I made this today. It came out so delicious! I added 1/8 teaspoon of ground coriander and 1/8 of ground cardamom. I made a tomato salsa to eat with it. I will surely make this again.
