Some gold smugglers in Northern Ontario Canada, would remove the oil pan beneath large cars such as the 1970's Lincolns and place gold in the oil pan, then bolt it back on the car, and refill with engine oil. The cars would be driven to Toronto, the the oil pan removed at a garage, where the gold bars would be removed. The oil pan would be replaced and driven back north for another trip.
These smugglers are clever but they aren’t the smartest the smartest haven’t been caught.
Only the smart ones get through only the dumb ones get caught. Sometimes smugglers get caught because they act suspivious instead of just acting like their natural self, calm and going on a fun trip. Suspiciousness is always a good give away into getting caught and arrested.

Congrats to the Singaporean authorities in catching the huge ivory haul, considering it was only in transit through Singapore and not the destination. It's simple maths to work out how many elephants/rhinoceros were killed and the fact that this cargo destination was China for traditional medicine. One of the worst culprits in this trade is the Chinese government. Many of us have seen videos of how easy it is to buy medicine using elephant ivory ingredients in it while in China. It shows that their government don't care that they are helping to wipe out multiple endangered species worldwide.

The woman carrying the suffed chickens was clearly just a mule and not the mastermind behind the trafficking. The fact that in the video it repeatedly states "the woman had ingineously utilized" and "the woman's creative subterfuge" and also that she was just caught because of her "uneasy demeanor" further demonstrates that the real traffickers are still at large.

Apart from the live animals/insects etc, who obviously need to be saved ASAP, I personally think that customs officials should implant tracking devices into the goods. That way they could connect the other end of the chain and make a more intense impact on the networks. (On looking at my above; probably need to include some botanicals to avoid ecosystem impact for instant intervention).
These narco subs should duplicated by us navy they could used for special missions by navy seals. There could be improvements made.

Luckily, those airline passengers were saved due to Reeds ( show bomber) stupidity. thankfully, he wasn't aware that you're not able to set off high explosives by lighting them with a match. Hell, I know nothing about explosives (except that fact I enjoy watching explosions, lol), and even I know you need blasting caps or some other means to set them off.

The cocaine cast reminded of a video I saw were the smugglers had made an electric guitar from cocaine, then covered it in some plastic. It even worked! They got caught because the guy carrying it did not know how to play it!!

It's ironic that most of these smuggling operations are entirely due to the "war on drugs" much like prohibition!
Some of these methods were really ingenious and I liked learning about them. However customs agents estimate that for every capture they make 800 get through successfully (at least in the US). This includes major cartel shipments like the submarines which are a favorite because of their capacity, but also small amounts brought in by travelers as well as mules. Still, every catch is a little less for the streets so the agents should be commended for their efforts.
