What comes across your mind when the word “acceptance” is mentioned? Do you imagine a monk sitting quietly under a tree and accepting everything within and beyond him? Or do you imagine a weak and powerless person who simply takes no action at all and gives up his life? Either way, those imaginations do not represent the full idea of acceptance.
In his talk [The Power of Acceptance], Dylan will share his profound insights on why acceptance is one of the most important mental attitudes that you can cultivate today and how acceptance can improve your life in both big and small ways. If you want to live a grounded, fulfilling and productive life, his talk will certainly give you a valuable perspective.
#Quote :“Acceptance is all about the art of coexisting with reality, instead of mentally resisting it.

  • I just learned about acceptance today- something clicked in my brain and it all makes sense to me now.I am in my 40s- it took a while to get to this place. Wow! This is so freeing.

  • Hi! I'm Dylan, the speaker of this talk. Today, many people aim for better lives, yet they are stuck. Why? Often times, it's because they confuse the fruit with the root. An improved life is the fruit. An improved self is the seed. To produce the fruit, we must first plant the seed. Before you think that this is plainly obvious, hold on. All of us get this intellectually, but our actions deviate from this understanding easily once we lose the big-picture thinking in this fast-paced and ever-changing world. We miss something not because it's too hard to grasp, but because it's too obvious. I made that mistake. If we want to make a lasting impact in our lives, it's crucial to embody this understanding: To change ourselves, we must first genuinely accept ourselves. Only with that, we can proceed with the next step, which is to either take the right actions or live with it completely peacefully. The key word is either. We must not oscillate back and forth. No matter which stage of life we are in, never underestimate the power of acceptance. It's much stronger than we think. Accept > LIVE IT/CHANGE > Repeat. Plant the right seeds and you'll be rewarded with trees, or even lush forest. Have a good life. By the way, you can find me on Quora too. :)

    • Very great thanks to you for showing us the reality, and one thing I want to tell you that why this video of yours is underrated, it is only because people don't want to accept their faults, they don't know that to reach somewhere you first need acceptance that you really need that thing, because if they think that the real solution is illusion, then they will always move towards illusion, by recognising the false to be true, in reality they don't know the power of acceptance. In the last I would like to share something, that we must learn to respect every one because whatever the life we are experiencing is because of the level of awareness at weare, we must develop compassion towards them also

    • I needed to hear this. Wallowing in worries/ wallowing in self- pity-- finally it clicked- acceptance. Once I accept reality, then I can move forward with what I want to do. I can see clearer now. Like someone said- so much wisdom spoken here. Thank you for explaining it clearly and with examples, Dylan Woon.
