  • That’s awesome! I have lost 45 lbs with WW. It is a lifestyle change. It’s all what you plan. You’re not “cheating” yourself. I am no longer pre diabetic. My blood pressure is normal again. I was so close to going on meds for both. That was a huge encourager. I want to be around for my kids. I’m walking at least 10,000 steps a day. Moving and keeping on, keeping on! I started at 5,000 steps as my goal and increased from there. We can do all things through Him!❤️

  • That’s so awesome to hear how the new system is. I too did ww back when they had the slider trackers. I’ve done weight watchers off and on about 4 or 5 times. The last I did it I couldn’t lose more the. 10 pounds, but I was also diagnosed with hypothyroid. I switched to keto almost 4 years ago now. I dropped 40 pounds on it pretty quickly. I still stick with keto because I don’t crave carbs/sugar. I used to save up my points on ww to eat a snickers or drink a coke 😂 at least once a week, but I would still lose wt while doing it. This new way of ww does interest me though. Ww will always hold a special place in my heart because it does work. I always loved going to the meetings .

  • Thank you for sharing this information. Like everyone else, I’ve tried a number of different methods to lose weight. They were all too restrictive so I didn’t stick to them. I was on WW when they had the sliding calculator, but I felt it was too much work and i didn’t stick to the program. The app makes it easier for me to track. I too don’t like eating foods with artificial sugar, so I avoid them and am more careful not to eat too much sugary foods. I also have been tracking my water and that helps to make sure I drink enough and also fills me up. Someone on WW mentioned that they once tracked what they ate at a meal prior to WW and their points were triple what they now daily allotted. That was an eye opener for me. I’m really watching my portions. If I want a bowl of ice cream ok, just don’t have too much.

  • I just weighed myself this morning, and I weight 210 lbs. I’m 10 lbs over I thought I was and 50 lbs over where my healthy weight is. Your explanation was timely and very helpful. I quit after they switched to the new points because I was kind of overwhelmed by it. I just signed up and I am going to start over.

  • Thank you very much for sharing this video. Your insights really hit home for me. I've done Weight Watchers in the past (about 3 separate times). I had a lot of success and then as soon as i let myself relax and eased up on my tracking, everything went out the window and I regained my weight each time. In the past my attitude was to be spot-on perfect. All-or-nothing. That does NOT work for the longterm. I love how you tweaked the program to work for you. You inspired me to make this LIFESTYLE adjustment for myself. Thank you! Looking forward to following your progress!

  • Way to go! I just started Noom. Trying to change my thinking about food. And be more aware of why I want to snack (boredom and stress) and then trying to redirect my focus - maybe do a household chore or do something on my tondo list- and for me I need to leave the kitchen / living room area. I was just eating so many extra calories

No fake stuff here either. Making the decision to make this be a lifestyle change for myself means I want real food and I’ll budget in my points. I have the opportunity now to learn,grow and loose. • Great and very helpful input. I am also trying to do WW this time with the mindset that if it’s high points it means eat 50 percent of it because it is not good for my health and longevity. Also my big sinker has always been same food over and over because it’s low points but this time I am reminding myself how much I need complexity to be satisfied which of course includes variety. Please keep your success ideas coming. Kathy

You are so right, getting into a "diet food" mentality is a slippery slope, much better to eat real, eat less. • I'm so glad I found your video, and I can relate to every topic that you discussed. I did very well with WW over the years, but I too got tired of tracking everything and then fell off the wagon. Again. I also don't count my morning coffee w/creamer because I tend to not use all of my weeklies and so I don't really consider it cheating, and it allows me to enjoy my coffee without guilt. I'm starting again today, my son is getting married in November and I just got my dress last night. I have great motivation to loss some weight before then if I want to be able to breathe in my dress come November, lol. Thanks again, wishing you much success and good health.

  • Finally someone has figured out a way to do WW long term and to fit into an individual lifestyle. I gave up on WW because I can't live off chicken my body needs beef. I think I will try to design my own WW plan for my need to eat beef. I also was unwilling to eat fake foods or have them around my kid. Thanks for the motivation to give it another go.

    @Jayla-dj2gj@Jayla-dj2gj Жыл бұрын
    • In the quiz one of the questions is how often you eat beef. We eat beef at least twice a week, and points are really fairly low for most of it (except full fat ground beef) based on my answer. Definitely can be done without eating chicken for every meal!

  • oh, how exciting!!! i am like you i that i'm to the point where i'm tired of the losing and not maintaining. i have done WW a couple times way back in the day, but then i had kids and just wasn't making smart choices. a few years back, we became vegan, and i naturally lost weight because of cutting out dairy, which is simply made to get cows heavy fast, so, just cutting that out helped, and i was so excited i was losing weight from doing nothing fancy or extra. but then i discovered alllll the joys of vegan baking and local vegan spots, aha!! i did noom last year with a friend, i lost all my weight, yay!!!! so, i know some people also hate counting calories, and it IS frustrating that this is what i do, but i just feel like i can't be trusted, lol. as soon as i stopped counting, it went all back on. i LOVE to bake and make and share with neighbors, but i always want to try ALL the treats, so, i fit it in with my calories (because yep.... back to noom again as of a couple weeks ago), but i know i'll get to a point where i stall out on losing weight (and already, it seems to be harder than last year/slower), and i'll need to realize that a treat a couple days a week is far better for me than 5 ;) i watch a very reasonable person on youtube who just speaks facts, and she says maybe not everyone has to count calories, but for her and her very poor eating in her past, she just has to be held accountable, and i really do, too, i think.

    @cottingtonmae@cottingtonmae Жыл бұрын
    • I agree. When I’m not tracking, it’s much easier for me to think I’m doing fine when really I’m not. I’ve heard good things about Noom. I’m glad it works for you.

  • I understand the feeling of "I can't eat that or I can't eat there". Instant left out feeling for me. I just started on Personal Points and am still getting used to daily eating. Will try to convince myself to use the weeklies, at least some of them.

    @pamrosenberry7575@pamrosenberry7575 Жыл бұрын
    • Some people say they can’t lose if they use weeklies. I have found that if I don’t use at least some I will hit a plateau and stop losing. That’s where I am now for a couple of weeks. I would suggest experimenting to see how your body reacts using some or all weeklies.

  • Congratulations on losing 17 pounds!! That is wonderful. I just started WW this week and I am down 2 pounds. I have about 70 pounds to lose so I am just getting started. I agree, if I have to cut out whole food groups or certain foods, I’ll fail . I think it’s better to still have the things you love just in smaller portions/moderation. Keep up the good work!! • And I think that’s the ticket! Whatever you choose to do it needs to be sustainable because you have to do it forever. So people need to be realistic. The same thing goes with exercise. You better choose some thing that you can do forever instead of being discouraged and stopping altogether which is not good.

  • I have returned to WW after many years, and really identified with your focus on sustainability. I have retaken zero points quiz a couple of times when I have asked myself the question 'can I eat like this forever?' If the answer is no, I take the quiz again until the answer is 'yes'. Working for me so far .

  • I have just started and I agree that changing your lifestyle to suit the plan is not sustainable. I like butter and full fat yogurt. I will take on board what your have said and will redo the quiz to ensure I can sustain my weight loss long term. I don’t mind tracking my main meals but I do not put in coffee as I do not take sugar and very little milk. I take black tea so I don’t track that either although I do track water as I do not take in enough and it reminds me to keep drinking. Hopefully in a couple of months time I will be able to say I have lost at least a stone (14lbs) fingers crossed. Thank you for the thoughts and suggestions

When I was on WW I tried not doing the fake food but some how it really ate up my 23 points very very quickly

    • I did well on blue too. Some real foods can be higher in points and that can be difficult. I usually don’t count small amounts of butter or avocado oil for that reason. I feel like these are healthy fats that I need and so far, I’ve been able to lose while doing this.

  • I lost 58 pounds doing Whole30 a few years ago. I had been under a lot of stress and gained all of that weight in a short period of time. I kept it off for years, and felt so great being back to my high school weight. In the past six months I have gained 30 pounds while dealing with my mom being sick since October. I am ready to shed the weight now. I need to deal with my emotions rather than eating them. That would be a really good breakthrough. I am not sure if I will try any specific plan or diet, I will probably just try to drink lots of water and eat mostly from the garden and limit processed foods. I am also trying to move my body every single day. I'm proud of you, 17 pounds is a big deal and you are looking wonderful. I hope you feel just as great.

    • Thanks so much! I do feel great! I gained during Covid from business stress and again with both our dad’s medical issues last year. At this point in my life, feeling better is a bigger motivator than trying to be thin. I really need to do better with water. That’s one thing I haven’t done well with.

    • I track steps throughout the day with my Apple Watch. Lately My aim is 4 miles or about 10,500 steps. This equates to 4 activity points for me. After dinner I will walk with walking shoes and track either an outdoor walk or an indoor walk until I get the rest of my steps needed. I walk on the beach if the weather is good, or on neighborhood walking paths. If the weather is bad, I walk around my house-up and down our hallway and around the kitchen. 😂 I have tried treadmills but I need to be moving to do it, so my weird way works for me.

  • I started WW after Christmas, and I also want it to be sustainable and a lifestyle. I had/am having success with it, but the biggest issue I have is just the tediousness of tracking my food. I changed briefly to just tracking Monday through Friday because I needed a break, but then I stopped altogether. I’m trying to get motivated to start tracking again. I really like the new system and the free foods/healthy habits I think it encourages. I just wish the food tracking was easier. I get bored eating the same things, but it certainly makes tracking take less time. Great work! Thanks for the encouraging video!

  • How does the new plan vs the smart points plan differ? How long does it take to understand the new plan? I did smart points and got my little calculator out all the time lol. I really need to join since my sugar and cholesterol are high. When I was on WW everything went down to normal range. Thank you so much for the your help! Congratulations on your 17 lbs in 9 weeks.

    • Thank you! 💕 Personal points is similar to smart points. The main differences are: 1. Instead of a list of zero point foods, you take a quiz and have your own personal list of zero point foods. The more zero point foods you have, the less daily points you’ll get. 2. They now give you points back for eating non-starchy vegetables snd water. Other than that, it is very similar.

So I am listening attentively to you because I don't think those foods are good. If they are fat free then there is more sugar content...so which is best?? For me, as you say, for you, I plan on not going to fat free cool whip route this time. So thanks for your vote of confidence. I have to get to the grocery store to get my food....and soon as I do off I go on my ww trip, again, but hopefully to make it a lifestyle this time. thanks again.

  • I have learned to not obsess over certain things. I was doing low carb (Atkins) and it just didn’t work anymore. I started noticing the ingredients. In the Bible they ate bread. It wasn’t the garbage they sell in stores now, it was homemade bread without all the chemicals. I focus on meat and veggies, the rest is “fluff” as I call it. I don’t add a ton of sugar, but I don’t add in some fake chemical stuff as replacement. I don’t buy low fat, that has proven to be worse for us. Did you know fat doesn’t actually make us fat? God created us to eat food, not chemicals. So I’ve been focusing on that and I’m noticing slow changes! Good luck to you.

  • When you go over your points (daily or weekly), how does the system respond?

    @Wiley799@Wiley799 Жыл бұрын
    • If you go over your daily points, the app deducts from your weekly points. If you go over your weekly points, it goes negative. So the next day when you get points for exercise, they start to build up again. Your daily points reset the next day.

  • I’ve been in the keto/ low carb lifestyle and did well, lost over 60 lbs before my little boy died. Gained it all back and more in grief. Had starred back last May and it’s gone slow, lost about 50 lbs. well our finances hav3 taken a nosedive and we literally were stretching and not having enough food the past while. Well a week and a half a go we were given a bunch of foos. I had prayed for the Lord to help us with food. And He did but alot is processed boxed etc. in the past two weeks I have gained almost 5 lbs :( I’m so scared of gaining back over 300. I still need to loose ALOT. I HAVE to come up with a way to eat what we have for the next month or so at least and not gain. I have been eating less and it seems to not matter with what we eat. Add to that some of the foods seriously increase my pain and swelling with my Fibromyalgia and Arthritis. I have a local friend using ww and she loves it. Maybe someday I can try it. Needing to loose 164 seems overwhelming but I’m fighting for my life and trying to get mobility back and not need wheelchair as much!
