Making a Real Lightsaber Using Rydberg Atoms and Photonic Molecules

2018 ж. 3 Сәу.

In this video I show you an awesome laser light saber and then I talk about light sabers and the possibility of using photonic molecules to build a real light saber. This thing is awesome! If the force is with us (and some quantum mechanics) we will some day have a true lightsaber...
These are very dangerous lasers. NOT A TOY. Will cause instant blindness:

  • Well, in a Type III civilization like the Galactic Empire, one could assume they can control gravity rather handily considering they have light speed capability. If one could create a very small rotating gravitational field that is as powerful as the even horizon of a black hole, and contained in a small area that is projected artificially from the light saber handle, then a high powered laser emission would have a limited range and emission of its photons also contained within that field. Considering we are barely approaching a Type I civilization and already tinkering with the idea of a light saber, then it's not a stretch for a Type III Galactic civilization.

    • @@theorphanobliterator.. By our current technological understanding, yes it would. However, we have no idea what other properties or ability to control gravity. Perhaps that far ahead in understanding gravitational physics, we'll be able to control the effect of the field in a small enough area to prevent that. We have no idea what physical properyies we have yet to be discovered.

Substance stored in the saber handle. Heat source (reactor in handle) agitates it and extends to specific length. Thus lightsaber.

Hacksmith did the best for being able to utilize laminar flow to stabilize the plasma. As impressive as that it, it's more like a sophisticated plasma cutter than blade. Go learn about properties of particles, wave, and energy, you'll be more aware of the meaning of "real".

I propose that a light saber is a force weapon. A one atom thick indestructable force blade would probably account better for the weapon's abilities barring the blaster deflections, an obvious Force usage.

  • *OK SO HERE IS HOW LIGHTSABERS ACTUALLY WORK:* Laser energy isn't electromagnetic radiation, or light. Basically how it is explained (not sure if it is in canon, but I think it might be, so in Rebels or The Clone Wars, which means it could potentially be retconned) is that the laser energy is concentrated by a kyber crystal, a rare organic crystal that resonates with the Force. The laser energy can be held in place by kyber cells. But there is no explanation as to how laser energy is created, and we do not know whether it is a plasma of some sort, or just a new invented laser energy thingy. Kyber crystals are naturally colorless, but they get a color depending on the user's attributes in the Force; blue if passive but ready to fight, green if wise, yellow if defensive, or purple if aggressive. Red is achieved by hurting the crystal and making it 'bleed,' and white by 'healing' the kyber. If a crystal is cracked, it will make the laser energy channeling through it in a lightsaber unstable (like Kylo Ren's lightsaber), and will therefore need an extra exhaust port (the crossguard). However, I don't think this is how it should work AT ALL. This explanation for kyber crystal colors makes no sense at all; we see that the crystal dictates the color of the laser in a lightsaber, but then what determines the color of other laser fire like blaster shots? Clearly they'd need a kyber crystal to channel the laser fire, but then why do all the *non Sith* protagonists have red lasers? They didn't make the crystals bleed, that's for sure. This is how is SHOULD work: the kyber crystals would naturally have a color, either white, yellow, green, blue, purple, or red (or black, there's the Darksaber, but that's special). Laser energy should be (not necessarily, but it would be the most efficient way) CREATED by kyber crystals, as they would be a simple combustion of them, and be an ionic plasma (I think quark-gluon plasma is a bit too far but who knows). Kybers would be sort of the Star Wars version of radioactive element such as uranium or plutonium, providing INSANE amounts of energy for very little amounts of matter, but kybers are on another level. We already saw a Star Wars element used solely for its incredible energy output in Solo: A Star Wars Story, coaxium. Kybers would just have the perfect conditions set to transform into laser energy with simple combustion, which would be the easiest way to obtain and instantly fire that plasma. I like the idea that kyber crystals are organic and almost living, and resonate with the Force, so they should keep that. Then obviously, a magnetic field created by super powerful magnets inside the hilt of the lightsabers would be keeping the blades in place (I'm not quite sure whether that means if two sabers were to clash, the hilt would always stay bound to the blade, can someone please tell me?), perhaps with a second, weaker oppositely charged field on the outside to cancel the magnetic effects of the first one. But unstable sabers should work the same. *So basically perhaps lightsabers would be possible to recreate in real life using plasma and magnetic fields. If you like what I've said, please upvote this comment, perhaps The Action Lab can make a video on it. And tell me what you think, thank you.*
