  • i love this version of you aspyn. so raw and real about your emotions. and i love that youre not showing your babies faces and keeping them out of vlogs. ive been watching you for a while, you’ve always had this picture perfect life on youtube and it’s so lovely so see you authentically yourself.

  • I appreciate seeing someone actually talk about this. All my pregnancies have been different, but ALL of them have been near torture. It’s so hard feeling to awful for so long and feeling guilty for ever admitting it too. The first year is always really hard on me too. It’s so hard committing to 2 years of feeling miserable the majority of the time.

  • Nap advice: My daughter went through a phase of skipping naps for a while shortly after turning two. I moved her nap an hour later and it helped her to nap even though it made her bed time later it got her back into the routine of napping and then we moved her nap back up a little depending on what time she wakes up in the morning. She turns 3 next month and still takes 2-3 hour naps. Hope it works for you too!

  • I’m 8 months postpartum and can’t imagine going thru being pregnant and giving birth again. It’s been such a hard journey! Still not feeling like myself but it’s probably because we have a bad sleeper and I just cannot function 100% everyday. Lol. Being a mom and growing humans is so so hard! Thank you for the vulnerability, I think it’s helpful as moms to know you are not alone in struggling! Hope you are feeling a lot better soon 💕

  • it’s so validating hearing you talk about your pregnancy experience! i just had baby #2 and i am so put off from his pregnancy that i genuinely don’t think i want any more. after my first i was so excited to be pregnant again (had 1st in in 2020) and get to experience the full thing (because obv 2020) but i truly feel a little traumatized from this pregnancy instead of having the experience i hoped for. i think it has tainted my postpartum experience a bit as well because i feel like i’ve recovered physically but not at all mentally. i had the exact same symptoms you’ve talked about: not sleeping at all, nauseous/yucky feeling all the time no matter what, taking unisom&b6 combo did nothing, etc. it was miserable. truly, entirely miserable and to everyone else it just seemed like i was complaining when i truly was suffering. i do feel like i’m grieving the experience just a little. hang in there, i’ll be praying that you start to feel better and have a joyful remainder of your pregnancy ❤️

  • My son stopped napping right after 2 and when we weaned. It sucked but he had also never been a huge sleeper, very low sleep needs, so it ended up being fine and helped our nighttime sleep. He also refused quiet time 🙃 She could just be ready! Every baby is different and some kids are just ready earlier than others! Good luck and hang in there mama 🥰

  • I had my son in March! I struggle with SAD each winter and was worried about being pregnant all winter. You can do it and there are ways to make it bearable! Stay warm, embrace the slower and colder days, get outside and breathe in the fresh air even when you don’t want to face the cold, use your pregnancy as an excuse to stay home 😅, and know that when your baby comes things will be bright and warmer and beautiful. ❤

  • I didn't feel well my entire pregnancy with my first son, it was rough. Probably the 6th and 7th months were the most decent I felt and then I had him 6 weeks early. Thankfully he weighed 6lbs and his lungs were good so he was perfect. The nurses joked it was lucky he came early as he would have probably been a 9 or 10lb baby and I'm very small. I hope you feel better soon, you look wonderful as always!

  • I'm a first time mom who gave birth at the end of March so I definitely understand having the majority of the pregnancy land in late fall / winter. Since I only know this timeline, I had people tell me it was a good time because I didn't have hot weather stacked on top of being hot from the pregnancy. It also meant I got maternity leave all summer and was able to fully enjoy the end of spring and summer with her which was super nice.

  • Had depression/anxiety with my second during pregnancy and post partum with sprinkle of intrusive thoughts. I got through it thank God. I would say for me the anxiety/depression post baby was more painful than giving birth or being pregnant. It kinda cemented that my second will be my last baby. I am good with my two loves. I realize you really have to take care of yourself if your feeling this way mentally though. I think you need to give yourself a good break and get away maybe with your friends or something. It's hard your overwhelmed and be a mom while pregnant and sick is not easy. Rest up and take care of yourself.

I went through PPD first time around due to some life changes and it came out of no where. Planning this time around but in a much better spot. Just know it's possible and no one believes it'll happen. It's just a good thing to prepare for the possibility of if you can (set up how you will handle certain things, therapy, planning out your help, ect.) ❤

It does sort of take away from “me” time but I do love to get out of the house and feel like he’s too young not to nap and those things always put him to sleep and he doesn’t fight the routine as opposed to being in bed at home. You will be so busy getting ready for baby you wont even noticed the winter blues. At least that’s how it was for me. Also bonus, being pregnant keeps you so much warmer when it’s freezing out. The unisom I took at night because it’s a sleep aid and it helped me sleep and I did notice a difference with my nausea.. could be something to ask your dr about! It might help you sleep (which could be why you’re still not feeling well!). Hope you start feeling better!!

  • Same thing happened with my 2 year old. We had cut the paci end off and it was a fight for a while. We just sat with her in her room while she was in the crib to encourage her and let her know she wasn’t alone. We’d sit in there for and hour, queue the green light on if she didn’t sleep so she knew it was over. Lots of tears. Solid 2 week battle but it suddenly improved and she’s a happy napper! We were able to only sit in there 5 minutes towards the end of the 2 weeks. My friends son stopped napping at 1.5 but would sleep in until 10 every morning (7 bedtime). She has 8 kids and he was the only one to do it, but it worked really well to allow that. Less ideal option, but something to explore if you need more time.

  • Have you tried taking unisom + B6 before bed? It helped me with sleep and nausea for my pregnancy!

  • My daughter dropped her nap when we took the pacifier too… the only thing that worked was tucking her in really nicely to my bed with a show and she would doze off eventually. 😅

  • Sounds like you have a corian (solid surface, acrylic material) for your countertops!

  • The is a genetic mutation that doesn’t allow your body to absorb folate which is the main ingredient in prenatal. You should def check that out. It can cause you to feel pretty icky. Magnesium also helps a lot with all of this

  • It's still summer weather here in California. It's 80 degrees here. It feels like winter will never come. I can't relate to you Aspyn.

  • Most mamas I’ve heard who kept the paci this long said that nap times are gone after you take them. 😖 something about the age seems to make it harder for them to want to nap anymore without their binky.

  • For Lola: the same thing happened with me, soo I would honestly just talk to her and tell her, “mommy is trying to help you and we need to do quite time or take a nap” and I would set a timer for however long I needed or wanted that she could visabley see counting down. As for what I would give her for quiet time… I’m about to get shamed from everyone BUT I would give her toys and books (which I would switch each time so it was new stuff) to start and if that wasn’t working….the tablet😭I have restrictions tho, Khan Kids academy, Lingo Kids, anywhere teacher, PBS kids video and games, and a couple random fun games. There’s a couple more I can’t remember off the top of my head. I’m just sharing in case you want to. Not all tablet time has to be pointless mind numbing content. But you do what is best for you and your family ❤

  • My daughter is 13 months and I’ve started weaning her from the pacifier by letting her have it for naps, but then gently removing it from her mouth as soon as she falls asleep. Same thing for bedtime. Hopefully this will help make it easier when I fully take it away.
