I can understand why Miller isn't everyone's favorite comedian. But he was very much a forerunner to how Norm styled his SNL news gig. Miller was also big for giving Norm and his evil twin Drake Sather (came up with Zoolander). This is norm telling a great Drake anecdote: kzhead.info/sun/eLCoiM2te3OVpok/bejne.html Also Dennis Miller: Black and White was a pretty good comedy special. After Colin Quinn took over for Norm was the end of the 90s where SNL started giving the Democrat party protection from ridicule. Tina Fey is wildly funny but she, being a head writer didn't let jokes against Democrat sacred cows get slaughtered while being fairly mean spirited towards Republicans. It wasn't as insidious as it has now become where SNL really speaks power to truth instead of the opposite which has brought them low.

You can hear Norm wanting to praise Dennis for giving him his 1st job, but Dennis quickly changes the subject, so as not to diminish the esteem these true friends have for each other, and to denounce any perception of hierarchy or rank between them in view of the general audience. RIP Norm
Rosanne Barr gave Norm a writing job as well.
I got to meet him several times over the years and the last time he remembered my name. RIP Norm you will be missed.
I only matured into Norms humour the last few years, and I would have loved to have meet him or see him live on stage. I feel like I lost a great friend
Brilliantly funny!
Hard to forget a name like Micheal Smith.

Dennis is growing on me. He's so quick witted!
norm was on his radio show many times. look those up they're hilarious dennis is a good dude and he always said norm is a genius
Dennis is really smart and will pull references that are obscure AF. There was a year of football where they had Dennis doing color commentary…and Websters started publishing a page the next day to educate people on all the deep cuts he would be making. It was surreal. Like watching a college football game with the top English Lit major as commentator. 😂
Spit-take! Comment of my morning!
@@thing12games44 it was Monday night nfl. It was great so he had to go. Norm was just as smart but acted dumb. Funny norm always said he was a terrible actor too.
RIP Norm.... These two are both legends.
NORM RIP THANK YOU

To me, Dennis Miller is one of the luckiest men alive. To have a front court seat to Norm's greatness, wow.
Bravest comic ever , truly a honest comedian who never ran from a joke !
The two greatest SNL anchors, ever.
Young Norm in a leather jacket was a cool lookin dude. Coolest lookin dude to ever drop the word cock 87 times in one segment.
Norm was the heavyweight champ of comedy! Just when you think you're all laughed out, he hits you again!
You can see that Dennis just plainly LOVES Norm. What a great compilation. Thanks! ❤😢
“Did that answer your question?” That shit is funny.
"... Does that answer your question?" is to me on a par with 'Chairman of the B O R E D' as far as legendary ad libbed MACDonald punchlines go. Maybe even better. It's like watching jazz improv - a reluctant Dennis pulled along by the lead line weaving around the cock-motif until the theme seems finally to exhaust itself... and then Normie brings it all back round with a cymbal crash.
Perfect Kit… he was brilliant.
Norm and Dennis were so great together… wish they did more and were still doing it.
@John Nichols yeah…. “I’m thankful for all the women, for without them, there’d be no cookies!” Lol and the poem he stole from jimmy Stewart… that still cracks me up. The original is just as funny too!
@John Nichols here it is: kzhead.info/sun/oNuAnqeBm3qHe2g/bejne.html
Denis Miller loves Norm the most. What a good friend,. 🥰
“You gotta find the goddamn camel”
It’s crazy how Norm actually knew that D.B. Cooper WAS the guy who hijacked and then jumped out of a plane. What a legend
Norm was actually a mathematical genius and a voracious reader.
Norm was the funniest, smartest, most completely original comic of my lifetime. I never tire of listening to him. All love Mr Norm .
I wish there was more of these 2 on camera together

They're both gone. Miller effectively died when he became a raging conservative.

@@jimvo Dennis saw the light. Get over it Libtard.
@@jimvoNope. Dennis Miller is still hilarious. Your leftwing cult is so important to you that you'll hate anyone that has any common sense. It's apart of your affliction. Dennis Miller was always a conservative. He would still make fun of the right because funny people make fun of everybody. Plenty of leftists hate Norm as well. You definitely should.
A raging conservative with a great sense of humor
Man I miss norm. He would go off down a path that was profoundly odd, but he would have me laughing before it was over.
These two should’ve made a movie together.
They did
@GigaBoost what's it called?
“You gotta find the g#^ d&mn camel”. Gets me every time. Norm has so much fun telling Dennis this. Almost as much fun as Dennis has listening to it.
In his prime, Norm was a force of nature.
I could sit and just watch Dennis watching norm. You can tell they are good friends.
A deeply closeted comment.
Dennis is officially the biggest norm fan.
A master of his craft for sure. The man kept Dennis in stitches, and anyone can see it's legitimate belly laughs. Norm was a moon cherry, and should be remembered as such.
I prefer to remember him as a deeply closeted man with a big beautiful cock
I just realized this. The thing about dying is that so many fantastic people go before you, when you do go, you can take some comfort in knowing they all did it. Shouldn't be all that hard.
Makes sense. Thanks for that realization.
There's no comfort in dying, no matter what celebrities have gone before you.

If you like the chemistry between Dennis and Norm check out Dennis’ radio program from the early 2000’s with Norm as guest. Great stuff
2 Legends being Legendary! !! Norm is the comedian that every comedian wish they could be but because of TOS wouldn't
I always saw him as just being himself. He sold that part so well. In the end, it was like he pranked us all the whole time.

Sad to hear Norm talk about quitting smoking for his health and then only living until 61. Life just is not fair.
He paused frequently but usually started back up. Assuming he quit after he was diagnosed but don't know for sure.

Dennis and Norm play off each other so well
Gonna miss him so much. One of the funniest of all time
"....that godamn camel!...." BRILLIANT!!
The only comedian/host pair I ever saw bounce off each other so perfectly like that were Rodney Dangerfield and Johnny Carson. Norm and Dennis remind me so much of those 2 guys that it's crazy.
I was prob 15 and I always watched the Dennis Miller show. Norm and Dennis were just great together
Wow. These guys are so good together
Yesterday sucked. Today, I can't watch anything else but Norm. And its my birthday. Norm is making me laugh talking about his, Miller's, and Spades c@ck$. Ho-hum. ❤RIP, Norm.
Got to give Norm credit for facing his totally erational fear of death.
Dennis Miller references are too obscure for most people. He’s funny as hell. DB Cooper? He’s married to Alice Cooper.
this is the funniest shit, lost count how many times I've already watched it
Norm ALWAYS has all the other comics crying!!!
Unfortunately, Norm Macdonald passed away today... That is the saddest news ever, Norm was a comedic genius and will be sorely missed!! RIP

Brilliant. Brilliant
At the time this aired, I was like ... "shit." Couldn't stand Norm McDonald on SNL. Then he came out and just killed it with Dennis. The best guest turn of Miller's HBO show, bar none.
Norm has said he was trying to not be funny on SNL. An interesting experimental approach that he's rarely used elsewhere.
If I first saw Norm through SNL I wouldn’t have got him at all, it was Norm Macdonald Live thankfully where I saw him first, that made his SNL personality way easier to understand
@burteriksson Norm's sitcoms might have been really good if he had ever learned to act but he's never felt like it.

Dennis Miller was great.
The only reason I'd watch DM is if Norm is on the episode. I feel like Dennis is all of us, just endlessly entertained by Norm. Norm makes DM relatable.
@@ErGo13 that is hands down the best argument for Dennis Miller ive ever heard.
