Kissinger at 100: New War Crimes Revealed in Secret Cambodia Bombing That Set Stage for Forever Wars

2023 ж. 23 Мам.

A bombshell new investigation from The Intercept reveals that former U.S. national security adviser and Secretary of State Henry Kissinger was responsible for even more civilian deaths during the U.S. war in Cambodia than was previously known. The revelations add to a violent résumé that ranges from Latin America to Southeast Asia, where Kissinger presided over brutal U.S. military interventions to put down communist revolt and to develop U.S. influence around the world. While survivors and family members of these deadly campaigns continue to grieve, Kissinger celebrates his 100th birthday this week. “This adds to the list of killings and crimes that Henry Kissinger should, even at this very late date in his life, be asked to answer for,” says The Intercept’s Nick Turse, author of the new investigation, “Kissinger’s Killing Fields.” We also speak with Yale University’s Greg Grandin, author of Kissinger’s Shadow: The Long Reach of America’s Most Controversial Statesman.

The wars of aggression in the Middle East (millions of human beings of all ages were murdered) and the ongoing war against Russians by using ethnic Ukrainians as cannon fodder have the same origin -- the supremacist mindset encouraging looting and mass slaughter.

This pain was and is still past on to future generations. As a former German, I know that the capacity for evil acts is not owned by one Nation only, but is part of who we can decide to be. Those who oppose it, often pay a high price. We are facing similar times, on a global scale. It's time to resist the war mongers and those who pretend to act in the 'Public's Interest!' • The Khmer Rouge was killing people in massive numbers. The US was not supposed to be in Cambodia but we were. I know an army ranger who was dropped into the country and was captured by the KR. He was lined up in front of a firing squad 3 times and 3 times he pissed his pants. Each time they used blanks. Later the US sent in troops to get them out and at one point the enemy pointed a pistol at him and it misfired. Later after his service he related this story to me. He was not right after that trama but who could blame him. So I agree Kissinger was a no good prick but the whole story is not being told. We were in Cambodia on the ground even though the US denies it.

  • I have asked my father who is now 72 years old to write his memoir about the bombing. He used to tell how he and his friends and villagers ran for their lives while their village in Takeo province was bombing. It was terrifying. Also, I heard that farmers need to harvest their rice at nighttime to avoid the bombing at daytime. It resonates with me about the phrase he uses 'shot at everything that moves'. They were just harvesting rice. To eat. Just to eat and be able to live.

Search "R2P: Responsibility to Protect" as a legal defense for Vietnam, and in February, 2022, for Russia to prevent the "ethnic cleansing" of Donbas. The UN recognizes the right of people to vote and secede from one country and join another, or be independent. Just as the corporate media brainwashed the American people about Indochina, they have done the same with Ukraine and Russia.

  • Greetings from Cambodia. I protested the war and illegal/immoral bombings perpetrated by this disgusting, evil man during my high school and college years in Indiana. I came to Southeast Asia 10 years ago as an apology for what was done here in the name of my country. I can assist students with English if they think that is something that will help them achieve their goals and support their families. I've heard the horrifying stories of what my country did here in Cambodia and Laos in the villages of my students. Unexploded ordinates dropped on the people here still take an average of one life a week or physically maim villagers nearly 50 years later--usually farmers working in the fields or children thinking the baseball-sized ordinates are toys. The US set the foundation for the mass murders by Khmer Rouge in re-purposed school buildings and temple grounds. I met an elderly man once in Phoenix when I was back in the US teaching for a few months. He was driving a sports car and returning from a game of pool with buddies at a bar. He smiled as he told me about his job loading US bombers in Thailand for the bombing raids over Cambodia and Laos. I'm glad to be back in Southeast Asia.

God maybe allowed the devil to keep him alive, hoping that he might regret his evil actions and turn to God, or the devil has free hands to keep him alive, and then when it pleases him to end his life and let him end as a lost soul, because God dont want evil people in His Heaven. I dont think these butchers believe in God, so they dont spend time on salvation, and that is the perfect possibility to grab this old man in his own time. We might think that hell are for the few, and Heaven for the many, but it is the upperset, many will enter hell, and few will enter Heaven, one can say that this old tyrant, have had a really long life to choose which way to go to be saved, but sadly I dont think he will ever repent.......

  • I'm Cambodian who lived thru Khmer Rouge regime and almost died under their heavy hand approach. Why does American love to dig old wound and shows the World the true color of American democracy? I love America, but I won't blame America during Vietnam war. I blamed my late King, Sihanouk, who kicked out American force from Cambodia and helped China and Vietcong to fight American. CIA then toppled him from his palace and put General Lon Nol in charge. If you want to blame, blame Vietnam, China, and Russia who are behind these geonocide. American just wanted to eliminate Communist countries to make sure the World won't be ruled by communist. If Sihanouk sided with America as Thailand did in the 60's, Cambodia won't be dragged into this mess. The US and EU should look into Vietnamese behavior tour Cambodia country. Vietnam is very dangerous this day. They know how to play diplomacy with the Super Power. American government now helps Communist Vietnam to become strong and invade other countries as the China does. Vietnam is smart by placing Hun Sen (Current Cambodia Prime Minister) into power and then Vietnam secretly encroach Cambodia land everyday by moving border posts along its border and robbed two Cambodia islands. One of the islands is called Kos Tral (Vietnam changed the name to Phu Quoc). Hun Sen allows it to happen by crashing Cambodian who protest about encroaching Cambodia land. If you go to Cambodia, go to the border and observe the border. So, go after China, Vietnam, and Russia if you want to dig out the old wound. I had a nightmare myself too after I landed in America in late 1981's. It lasted about a year dreaming Khmer Rouge shooting at me. THE REAL WAR CRIME IS VIETNAM, CHINA, AND RUSSIA.

  • Henry Kissinger was the face of what happened in Cambodia but he was acting as a US agent. Nothing he did was not under the direct authority of the US. If any entity should be on trial at the Hague it should be the US. Anything less would be allowing sovereign entities to escape responsibility for what they do. These behaviors, the atrocities will continue until the root cause is addressed. This doesn't mean that he has no fault but not addressing the US responsibility allows us to continue to commit these types of atrocities. That's what needs to be talked about.

He literally believes that the "goy" gentiles or anyone who isn't what he deems acceptable to live is a slave. And deserves nothing but abuse... Don't believe me? And also, Kissinger have tried “connect the dot” from Trumps to China but unsuccessful. In last 48 years the names Henry Kissinger often appear in my minds any time that April 30 returned ( the South Vietnam lost to freaking North Vietnamese Communist in April 30, 1975) because Kissinger was a architect of the deal that sold Vietnam to China. Too bad that Obama, Clinton, Hillary and Biden are all looking up to Kissinger who’s just the old men without my respect. Thanks Leealex.

I visited Peace Trees Vietnam with a group. I observed a group of ordinary citizens learning how to remove mines outside. People are still being wounded or killed by the land mines we left there. The first thing I noticed was his eye patch hanging from the pilot controls. He explained that he would put it on before the start of the bombing run to protect one eye, to be able to continue his mission, after a flash that was expected to blind his unprotected eye. My uncle was a warrior willing to sacrifice his life to protect Freedom. He refused to commit "B 52" war crimes in the "Vietnam" war after he and his B52 were sent to Guam for that purpose. The evil in the US air force then tried to see he would be killed by pulling him out of his B52 and putting him, alone, in an unarmored, single engine, Cessna to fly forward air control for field artillery where 1/2 the pilots, so assigned, died. He survived and drove up from the Colorado Springs air base, as he was being mustered out, to visit me at school in Denver and tell me the details of what was going on, that forced him to take the stand he did , that forced him out of the air force. Peter was a Honorable True Warrior.
