  • tyson would have been the greatest if cus was still alive and kept him disciplined. better then ali by miles, the footwork, speed, agility, power, head movement NO OTHER BOXER in history moved like tyson at his peak and prime. anyone who just says ali are just casuals who just go with the trendy media.

    • @@RosvStudiosif you box you know sparring is harder than the real fight. No ref to save you and you both can hit as hard as you want basically do anything you want and no one will save you. This is my own experience boxing. Step into a gym and you'll learn the hard way. Alot of undefeated fighters because the guys they fight don't take spar serious.

    • @@sky-oq5mrI spar in kickboxing. The problem I have is with people who are going hard and they are beginners. I literally remember when I first started and idiots were throwing bombs at me which didn't do shit for me because I was forgetting my technique all the time. Now I throw bombs only when someone throw bombs, otherwise I spar lightly because I don't want to have fried brain from all the hard sparring.

      @RosvStudios@RosvStudios8 ай бұрын
    • @@RosvStudios bruh, you have to adapt fast. In a real fight they don't care if you are a beginner or not. I got the same treatment and now after 2 years I compete the the best in the gym easily. Technique did go out the window and it will in a real fight as well just as easy unless you deal with that scenario enough to where you don't panic. Look at fighters today. They get stunned once and it's over because of that light sparring. Even Spence he gets stunned and turns away, fight hard.

      @sky-oq5mr@sky-oq5mr8 ай бұрын
    • @@sky-oq5mr Sparring is not a real fight, get it straight. Amazing, you compete in a gym. A fighter should go only hard spar when they compete and they have technique down, otherwise you are getting your ass beat and you ain't learning shit. I don't know what you are talking about with fighters being stunned, lol. Hard sparrings should be down but in low doses by pro / amateurs fighters. if you want to go the CTE route like a lot of boxers like to go to, then go ahead.

Back then ESPN has most of his fights we could watch him working up the ranks , he used to fight like once a month, where like nowadays you'd be lucky to see your favorite fighter go at it once a year. I loved his Peek a Boo style that Cus ingrained in his psyche, like Floyd Patterson,and Jose Torres, only Mike PERFECTED IT. I loved the Team that was built around Mike so sad when Cus passed , Jacobs passed, rooney was pushed out by Don King ,and the rest was History.

  • Growing up with a Father who was a boxing promoter in the late 70's thru 2000 I remember most that when Tyson was only 18 he was the talk because NOBODY alive that could stop this Dynamic kid who had a style that seemed beatable when he stood in front of a guy with both hands at his chin. seemed amateurish ,,,,,, but then hell broke loose and it was time to call the EMT. To this day I have to say that feeling of something special,,, a once in a lifetime fighter does not exist today. I do not care about anything he did outside of the ring because he is human. • R.I.P. Cus D' Amato, I've watched all of Mike Tyson's fights, Including the 3 part, before & after fighting Mike comments, his opponent's said some interesting and some BS replies, Eddie Richardson was asked after being KOd if he had ever been beaten as hard as Tyson beat him, and his reply was "Yes, about a year ago, I was hit by a truck" The opponent for whom I have the greatest respect for, not making up excuses and telling the truth was Lorenzo Boyd, when asked by Larry Merchant if Tyson could beat anyone in heavyweight boxing right now, Lorenzo said "Yes, He'll Go All The Way" And when Tyson fought Pinklon Thomas, I've never seen a man take as many brutal punches to the face and head as he did, and Tyson said "I hit him with everything I had, and didn't care if he died" of course he changed that later down the road. Thanks S.V. Great Channel. 👍 🇺🇸

    • Kevin Rooney trained Mike to fight the way HE (Kevin Rooney) fought! Watch the Kevin Rooney V. Alexis Arguello fight, and see if the fighting styles aren't EERILY similar. Even the the way Rooney gets KO'd, the combination he ate, looks like the same combination that Mike lost on to Lennox Lewis. Check it out. Mike Tyson is my FAVORITE ATHLETE OF ALL TIME, but Cus D'amato's death left Mike in the hands of a trainer who tried to clone himself in a Heavyweight. He basically kept the "philosophy" of Cus intact, but adjusted the method.

  • After rooney he stopped moving his head didn't use angles an foot work to position his opponent where he wanted them after rooney he would kinda just walk forward at you take a couple hits in the face an then try to throw a heavy punch cuz he know all he had to do was connect with one clean shot an it was lights out

  • The sign of a true boxing casual is when they point out the limited talent available during the era Tyson fought in, or how Tyson wilted whenever he faced tougher opponents. They never acknowledge his freak work ethic and what that would have carried him to if Cus had been 20 years younger and Rooney had remained his trainer. It seems crazy to think he wouldn't have gone down as the greatest boxer of all time.

    • A kid obsessed with Tate and smashing his underdeveloped head on boxing gloves oh boy. this won’t end well lmao. Let me tell you something. I went through a similar phase like you (12-16) I sparred hard everyday and had five amateur bouts. And just with that I already have some CTE. I got a stutter, my thinking speed has slowed down too. I only joined boxing I wanted to become the best fighter at my school lol. In the end I got that but it meant nothinf With this CTE, I can’t run a gang, I can’t roast people, I can’t talk shit, I can’t talk to girls, I can barely crack jokes anymore. Without my old speaking and thinking speed, life is just dogshit man. Everyday is hell. It only Happened to me because I sparred heavily daily. But i still wish I just never entered boxing

  • I think once he reached the goals and the fame n fortune that was the statt of the end for Tyson , he must be so hard to sustain yourself at that level for any athlete the constant effort to motivate yourself has to take affect once your goals ate teached and the constant discipline , especially under Mikes circumstances. You can see the steady decline in skill as he becomes less and less interested . I think the start was definitely when Cus died thats when the influence of what Mike bevame was lost , thats when the fire started to go out . But hey everything happens for a reason and nothing lasts forever on this earth
