WHO AM I?
I’m Randy, a mixed-media artist most recognized for my vibrant and unconventional artwork.
Born and raised in Northern California, I have been an artist in some form since childhood. I left the corporate world in 2021 to focus on my passions, and ultimately returned to art beginning in 2022, specializing in ink sketches and watercolor.
The transparency in my art and process shows the world that it is not about the final piece, it's about the creative space in the mind that takes you from the first sketch to the final brush stroke. Vintage items, antiques, and Hawaiian scenes are my favorite subjects.
I currently reside in Kailua Kona, Hawaii where I take advantage of the beautiful surroundings; you might catch me some days out at the beach with a brush in hand making the ocean my outdoor studio.

It turned out great.
Thank you and thanks for watching!
How exciting, congratulations!
Beautiful 😍 you make it look so easy, but I know from experience that it is NOT lol great work 👏
Absolutely stunning!!! I love when it is not spun so much and retains it's shape.
Thank you so much! I’m still a newbie, but having fun learning and sharing the ride. 😃😃😃
Love!
Thank you!
Very nice. You should be extremely proud.
Thank you so much for your kind comments. I’m having a lot of fun learning this new art form. Thanks for watching!
Beautiful!, I really like your spinner ,too!
Thank you! 😊
Great job looks beautiful
Thank you!
Use 70+ achol, it tightens better, because of the quick evaporation 😊 I pray that this day finds you blessed and paint splattered 😊
Thanks! I’ll have to give that a try. 😃
I'd replace your blow torch with one a little more designed for the job. It wasn't the blue flame that bothered me... it was the orange flame chewing up your paint. Other than that... great job!!! 👍
I have replaced it with a small butane one. It’s working a lot better now. Thanks! And thanks for watching!
Great job, it’s beautiful
Thank you! And thanks for watching.
Beautiful ❤
Thank you so much!
I think someone's been watching Rinske Douna videos. 😁👍

Thank you so much! And thanks for watching!
That’s really lovely! I know exactly which artist you’ve been watching for inspiration 😁 looking forward to seeing the larger canvas!
Thank you so much! 😊 I have actually been watching three different artists doing this type of flower art. Getting inspiration from all of them. Thanks for watching!
I'd be thanking the art gods for Rinske for this one.
@@RandyDobbinsArtyou should probably give credit to where the inspo came from, it's the decent thing to do.
Lovely flower, well done. Looking forward to seeing some more of your paintings.
Thank you so much! More to come...
Wonderful
Thank you! And thanks for watching.
Beautiful flower 🌺 I love the colors and the design! 🥰
Thank you! And thanks for watching.
Hey…you did great! I’m still starting out and learning too.
Thanks! I’m having a blast learning this new art form. Good luck to you!
Congrats 😊 im still trying to work up the courage to begin 😂
Thanks! Just go for it. Even when they don’t turn out like you want, it’s a blast creating them.
How long did it take to dry? Do you just leave in a warm room or shed to dry?
It was dry to the touch in about 24 hours. Completely dry in about a week. I bring them inside next to an open window to dry. The temperature here is pretty consistent at about 80 degrees and we always have a breeze. If they are enclosed and it’s too hot the top layer of paint will dry too fast and cause cracking as the lower layers dry.
A bit much water on the red but looks very good
Thank you!
@@RandyDobbinsArt u very welcome 👍
Nice ! But turn your torch down and keep it moving across canvas or you will definitely burn your paint ! Otherwise good job !
Thanks! I actually bought a small torch and havent had a problem since. Thanks for watching!
