Borislav got the recognition he deserved, the Divinty soundtrack was incredible, but BG3 took his music to another level
yeah the bg3 soundtrack is up there with skyrim and the witcher3. absolutely amazing
Except for the home ost maybe until Song of Balduran, Lady Vengeance theme > camp theme any time IMO, I get it, supposed to be a resting time and I understand why it's that way but returning to the lady vengeance really was the best feeling IMO
the dynamic music during combat felt better in dos2 to me. every party member with their own instrument. in bg3 it only changed when "you swing the tide" in a battle but always in the same way
When I listened to the DOS2 main theme back then for the first time, I literally cried because it was so beautiful. This man really puts his heart and soul into his music, I love it!
I love his music and as a fellow Slav I challenge the internet to produce a more Slavic name than Borislav Slavov
Swen didn't just cause an amazing game to happen.......he is literally screaming at the entire industry to do better. I love it.
If you build it well , the money will come. No need to gouge the customer, just give them a well done product. Great philosophy!
Ironically they made a worse game than it could have been had they not listened to fans. So many things in the narrative ruined. So many personalities ruined
Andrew Wincott richly deserved to win. Raphael was a great minor character and him singing his own boss theme song was just the chef's kiss.
hell hell hell has its laws...

Fun fact, Baldur's Gate 3 is the first video game to ever win Game of the Year from all five major game awards ceremonies: The Game Awards, the Golden Joysticks, DICE, Game Developers Choice, and the BAFTAs.
Thats not saying much. I mean this is the same game awards that nominated alan wake 2 lol
@@BonelessPeanutbutter Joke’s on you, Alan Wake 2 is (in my opinion) the second-best original game of 2023 (so excluding remasters and remakes.) I fucking loved it.
@davidbondy2250, And thus, Larian made a record which is impossible to beat. Ever. Like... I can't imagine how anything else could top this. But, Larian will sure do again if they want to.
@@warchiefballer8809 it’s doable, it just takes a weak year with one massive standout game (or one cultural phenomenon in a strong year like last year). Elden Ring nearly did it in 2022, it only lost out in the BAFTAs to Vampire Survivors for GOTY. Otherwise it won game of the year from DICE, GDC, Golden Joysticks, and the Game Awards.
@@davidbondy2250 You are right, being good amongst horrible games is not difficult :D
Borislav's speech was so great, what a fantastic composer and humble guy.
So moving to see how moved he was by it! Couldn't help but cry
I cried when Borislav received his award. He SO deserved it! His music just takes me to another world.
100%
So much better than the US awards where they basically boot off people on the stage after about 4 seconds. Love this
So true !
Exactly what I was thinking, I was shocked they let him go so long. Wish they would've given that opportunity to the rest of the cast at the other award shows.
I need Larian to put the bafta award in the House of Hope for us to steal LOL because Raphael is such a diva he would million percent display his awards
But none of us would be so brazen as to steal that award, even from Raphael!
It's too well deserved to steal it :')
@@Jules_Diplopia but imagine his reaction if we steal it lol
@@harukaru84 or just hide it somewhere in the house of Hope, where he won't find it.

What an awesome acceptance speech from Raphael, a gentleman even in real life
I've never been so happy for other people's success, they all deserve it. So glad to see Borislav get the recognition he deserves, poor man nearly melted on stage. A bit let down Samantha Béart didn't win for a Leading Role though... regardless, I hope the industry is taking notes and sees that putting passion and creativity above quarterly revenues can pay off
Not me tearing up at the music acceptance speech 🥹
me neither
It was a bit hard to watch because I was scared he might break down or something 😢 but he did so well
Raphael, "Hope, such a tease." His character is soooo well written and amazingly performed. Definitely one of my favorites!
I played Baldurs Gate 1 and 2 in the year 2000. Seeing Baldurs Gate 3 sweep awards 24 years later is one of the most epic RPG moments ever. I didn't even know BG 3 was in the works until I heard about it's imminent release last year. I never thought I'd get emotional about a game, but I have now!
Same, I brought a gaming computer for the first time is 2004 to play baldur’s gate 3. And hell, I will be still playing bg3 in 20 years
So refreshing to see the winners actually have the times to give their acknowledgments! I wanted to give Boris a hug- he was so emotional and overwhelmed! Well deserved!
Borislav's acceptance speech made me cry
same
I love how the Best Game announcer was just like "yeah, Baldur's Gate 3" like the most obvious thing in the world
Freaking Borislav Slavov is an ICON holy canoly such an amazing musician :'D
I cried listening to Borislav. The raw joy and emotion in his voice was so palpable.
bg3 is my very first game with so much combat woven into it. i started playing for the plot, stayed for the fun in battles and THE SHEER WATERFALLS THE MISIC IN THE END OF THE SECOND ACT GAVE ME. i never have understood what it is people like about games with bosses and strategic encounters. but now i got it. i got it so fundamentally that now i dream about one day playing elden rings or dark souls. bg3 introduced me to the rush of satisfaction and giddiness you get from clearing the floor with bodies of enemies that you outwitted and bested. i understand what it is to feel dread every battle. i love love love exploring new builds. i love dnd. i am so happy they exist and persisted in creating art.
the joy of the difficulty is overcoming the challenge, you just can't get it by coasting through a game, the strife matters
the uhhh the what now?
It's criminal that we won't have another BG game from Larian. I will never be over this.
can only hope other devs learn from their examples and I'm excited to see what they do next x
Ah for real...? No sequel? Baldur's Gate 4? I would've loved an epilogue and to see the gods and places we didn't see in bg3
It's not so bad. Larian felt very creatively limited because the IP wasn't theirs. They now want to work with their own IP. And imagine how they would do without any limits. I can't wait their next project.
@@NickHunter hope... such a tease
I mean, Divinity OS1 and 2 are fairly identical, so.. BG3 is fantastic, but it's not that different from those games, except better quality in terms of graphics/cutscenes obviously.
Watching everyone get emotional over the music award is exactly the way I feel. I've had the DOS2 soundtrack on my playlist for years. He brings such a dimension to these games and I am so glad he won.
It still hurts so much that they're not doing DLC. I played it when my mental health was going down and it helped me get through a difficult time and all I could be excited for was DLC especially after the epilogue and new "hints" they put in through patches and I was completely devastated. It still helps me through it but whenever I think about the future I tear up. This game was a gift and it helped so much and I hope everyone at Larian keep getting everything good towards them; I may have disagreements with some reasons WHY they canceled it but I love them and they deserve to do whatever they feel like doing no matter how much it hurts me/fans. They deserve these awards ❤
Why no DLC?
@@pedropimenta896 multiple reasons. I believe the main reason (which is reasonable) is that their heart wasn’t really into it. Another reason (which I disagree with) is that they felt like it would feel like a cash grab. There are other reasons but if you want to know fully, there’s an interview with the man in charge himself on GameSpot’s channel.
@@pedropimenta896 Most likely a multitude of reasons. 'Hear Swen Vincke say it it was just that Larian didn't really have their hearts in it 100% and would rather work on something else instead of iterating on an already complete project. Then there's all the Hasbro/Wizards of the Coast BS that was and is going on. Apparently nearly everyone Larian originally worked with at WotC were laid off by the time the actual game launched. That had to have left a bad taste in the mouth of anyone continuing to work with that conglomerate. tl;dr Larian wants to go back to doing their own thing
DLC isn't in the cards. WOTC/Hasbro and their grubby hands are all over the reason why it wont happen.
@@cole9799 It was, they canceled it due to multiple reasons. It was especially obvious it was after the epilogue. Swen Vincke literally confirmed it during in interview while PAX was happening. Also Swen said on Twitter that WoTC/Hasbro wasn't the reason for cancelling it either or quitting the company.
Amazing. Here comes the claws. smiles. I am glad he won.Well deserved. Raphael is an fantastic character. The game is so full of life.Wiping my eyes over this. Its so emotional. The game has meant so much to me and i feel to so many other people as well.
The man deserved an award and most importantly, recognition for playing one of the game's best character.
Larian is one of the few game developers in the top sector who care about creating quality games and profit from doing so. This is what AAA publishers don't get: good game = profit. Proem is they reverse engineer their games purely for profit.
The problem is...bad/cheap game/no inovation + mtx = even more money 😢😢
Publishers get that as long as people are ready to pay money for shyt, why bother putting in some hard work? We players, need to stop funding bad publishers. The choice is ours.
That girl makes everything worthwhile to look because of her extreme positive energy ^^ One of a kind! Great Job Larian for KILLING all the awards this year!
Honestly, deserves every single award. I've loved Larians work for years, so a D&D with Larian was a no brainer. I've replayed into the double digits now, I haven't done that with a game in decades. You can really tell the passion that went into it and the awards show we're recognising that.
When you create something like this. A true work of art. Something that affects so many people, in so many ways. You end up cleaning up the award ceremonies and you're showered in praise, because you've earned it. You become a guiding star that others should follow. Larian is that guiding star.
Borislav 💜🎼🎶 all the wins, but the music and the musical GENIUS winning, Ah! It's the best! The best big win! Im so happy! 😭
I'm really happy for them. Especially Borislav, he deserves that award so much and what a nice and humble man. I love his music. And Andrew - he did such a great job as Raphael, that he made him a truely memorable character.
Honestly I only have 6.5 hours into baldurs gate 3 and for what little I’ve seen and heard they’re deserving of all of this
You've got a wonderful journey ahead. I'm about 600 hours deep and many completed playthroughs and it never ceases to amaze me how much thought and care has gone into this work of art.
Never stop experimenting. If you think you might be able to do something no matter how batshit you probably can :D Enjoy!
I think it might be my favourite game ever... it's not the one I've played the most, but the one that made me say: 'I love to be a gaming nerd' I haven't said that in a long time! Just amazing
i never cared for gaming awards... but with bg3 i am really happy they get this kind of recognition
As a 39 yr old guy who has Been playing since the 90s, this gave me hope. I finished BG3 recently, what a fckng great game
38 year woman here too. Also started playing since the 90s :)
You know gaming is doing well this decade when both Elden Ring and BG3 are sweeping all the rewards.
I love the way you are wholeheartedly happy for them!
I love this game as much as I love my cat... as much as you love Boo, Luana. I am so happy to see the creators get the recognition by the industry for the fantastic job they've done, and all the while, they keep acknowledging the fans in their thankfulness... Whatever Larian has planned for the future, I'm on board 100%. Cheers ! !
OMG! I was upset why BG3 did not win the best music at the games awards. Now, seeing boris so emontional makes me even more pissed about him not winning best music at GOTY .. I think I am in Love with his soul now.
What a voice!!!! Best voice in the game. Everytime Raphael show up, i listen careful every words, it's so good. Congratulation 🎉🎉🎉.
Great post and side commentary!
BG3 is the greatest game since The Last of Us, since Mass Effect series, since Witcher 3…… it will forever go down as not just a gift of a game but as the game that changed the world of gaming. Period.
It’s a brilliant, beautiful, game. The acting is astounding and the story is compelling. Loved every second of it.
This is so wholesome. Love it
I teared up at borislavs acceptance speech, his emotions reached me and wow I’m glad he won
Rafael finally got his hands on Karsus' crown
The BG3 soundtrack is something truly special
Larian just collects one game award after the other, many of which i never even heard of. So deserved and i'm so happy for them
As a non DnD player, BG3 got me into DnD games.
I am so happy that a great game made by great people get the recognition it deserves. A game that means so much to so many people. A game that came at just the right time for so many people. For myself included. A game that had brought so many people together. Everyone who worked on this game gave it there heart and it shows. Congratulations Sven and team. You deserve all the awards, all the respect, and all the love.
Love the game and all the creators. Great channel.
After this award..i m going to play the game
I love this game and Lua's passion for it so much.
2000 people that worked on the game……that is a telling statistic. Just goes to show how difficult and complex it is to make a great game. So many different aspects need to be worked on by so many different people and it all has to meld into a near perfect whole. So, for people that criticise games released for not meeting their own lofty standards, bear in mind the sheer love, dedication and complexity of the process. People who work on games are lovers of gaming and they don’t set out to make underwhelming offerings. Sometimes time itself and greater powers conspire against them. Congratulations on the awards. Well deserved.🏆
I'm currently developing a JRPG and utilising some scripts that others have coded. Trying to do everything solo, especially when you have so many ideas, and it is VERY daunting. I'm using stock art and free music as they're not my areas of expertise. It has however, opened my eyes to how much you need dedicated teams and experts for several areas within game development to get the best form of your work out there. Once this project is done, if I do another, it will be hiring talents to do so lol
It's nice they got a good amount of time to speak; although it's not the only award show that gets this kudos.
Baldur's gate is undoubtedly the greatest RPG of all time, and might be one of the top 10 best video games ever. It's a work of art.
What a team 🥹
Oh Joyous Be This Wonderful Day!
"I'm not crying, you are crying!"
Goosebumps from Raphaels speech
Borislav's acceptance speech was heart-wrenching. So well deserved!
This game is the epitome of let it cook.
Fanfic authors be writing through hurricanes, births, and life crises. DMing their fics to an actor I can only assume is one of the easiest nonplussed things they could do xD They amaze me every day. but in seriousness, this award ceremony was lovely. The BG3 clean up, as well as Nadji Jeter getting the award for Leading Role was just, MWUAH. The game awards was fun and goofy sure, but I really like this ceremony a lot more. Especially Borislav, pulled right on my heartstrings.
Now that, dear viewers, is a nose. In all its glory and splendour, it shines down on us. Not just any nose, the founder of all noses.
I've never played any DnD in my life. I've never played anything slightly close to it. Yet, I fell in love the minutes I started playing it. I'm currently in Act 3 and man did I enjoy every second of it
I wish Andrew Wincott sing Raphael’s song
Finally Raphael gets the recognition he deserves, the best preformance in the game and a great MtG card as well.
It's heartwarming to see deserved praise for a change.
I cried with you
Can't wait what Larian has in store in the future. Saying their next game is bigger than bg3 is an exciting news!!
So... So much better than the game of the year wards... Proper acknowledgement for the artists 😭😭😭
I can see Raphael VA as the next games narrator.
OMG! Never thought about that. He would do a fabulous job as narrator for sure.
Down down down by the river.... 🙂
Be calm, be patient, be rational - be human.
I love Raphael
Everything is fine, I'm just eating chicken wings and unexpectedly crying at Boris's acceptance speech LMAO
Thank god for the sheep they won best game 😅 but seriously it is great to see them win after all the effort they put into making an all time classic.
lol I was like "wait, who's this guy calling a feckin shee....?" then I remembered she said she'd eat the sheep if they didn't win :D
Never was there a more deserved music award.
Great reminder that sven built a team of amazing people over the years. Bg3 is just the conséquence of decades of work, training people, keeping them in the team, valuing their inputs etc... A studio can t reach excellence if you keep firing people every three months and keep a high turnout... Looking at you big studios...
Deserved!!!
I usually don't worship anything or anyone, but Swen Vincke is almost a deity in my eyes. He and his team, all the contributors to the game - I take my helmet off and bow deeply.
Oh I like Raphael.
I put 400 hours on this gem of a game and i could see my self putting more☕️
I could have bet my life savings on her crying during this

Borislav is a beautiful person
I feel they are more happy for winning something here than in the games awards or maybe it's just me ^^.
I bet they're getting bored of winning lmao, all the success they're getting out of this game is so so so SO deserved. Well done guys, looking forward to the next one :)

I know Borislav was nervous and overwhelmed, but taken out of context he looked absolutely scared out of his wits when complimenting Swen Vincke, as if he were scared of bodily harm from his boss should he say anything not top flattering about him. I just thought that image was funny.
No gonna lie, Larian team deserve all of this rewards more than any others, but im so pissed of main character reward. How the hell, main character from spiderman was better than ANYTHING in BG3?

BG3 deserves the wins.., but lets be real, if it weren't appeasing the over-woke community, it might not have won as much ... just like why Hogwarts didn't even get nominated at the VGA
I'm a big Harry Potter fan, read to book series over 5 times and have played most games that have come out. Hogwarts Legacy is great, but its no where near BG3 and many of the otehr games that came out that year. Reducing its lack of awards to "not appeasing the over-woke community" is ridiculous. And how is BG3 "over-woke"? What does that even mean?
@lespaul5734 common, all the females facial features are either too realistic or masculine.., while Astarion looks perfect / hot.., besides "gay" is pushed more than normal etc.
@lespaul5734 Hogwarts should have been at least nominated in some categories
@lespaul5734 odd.., my post on why BG3 is woke got deleted.., not gonna bother posting it again (but interestingly, only posts of mine calling out wokeness get deleted.., any other kind of post don't)
@@VampireNoblesse Which ones? It was a fun game, but much smaller and less successful in scope than the major games of the year nominees. Again, I enjoyed the game, but its no where near the others. Nor did it try to be a game of the year.
Swen and Borislav both great real speeches and well deserved, Andrew definitely deserved to win but actors just have to be cringe and longwinded when accepting an award.
Feel like I'm going insane or something with BG3. I think it's massively over rated. It isn't in the same league as games such as elden ring, breath of the wild, metal gear solid, mario galaxy ect.... It's a solid 9 out of 10 but I can't see it ever being in any greatest games of all time lists.
You're right it's not in the same league as those games, it's far above them. Oh I assure you it will be on many lists of greatest games of all time. It's fine not to like bg3, we all have different preferences, but to deny the objective quality of the game it self is silly.
@@Einomar The game has jank, lots of it. A.i both enemy and companion can be utter brain dead, walking straight into traps and such. Traversal is horrible, the jumping especially. The music is forgettable and generic I felt I heard it before. The graphics are just ok. It's missing the extra bit of magic the games I mentioned have. Saying it's better than elden ring or breath of the wild is silly.
BG3 was such a mediocre game. Its not that its bad a bad game or anything its that the industry is so awful right now that the bar standard has been lowered. That being said, if any game from 2023 deserved all this praise, or even half, it shouldve been Lies of P hands down.
