  • These rear tine tillers are ok for breaking ground... if you don't have a garden tractor... but after its planted, forget it, you can't make tight turns to get close, but not to close to your plants.

    • Hi jaycounts4747 - very interesting - we are going to do a video this year to trial this, and if this is the case I wonder what we could design that would solve this issue? I am not sure we entirely understand the problem; Last time we tilled a planted garden we didn't come too close to the plants, that is correct, we stayed out in the middle of a wide row and then pulled the fresh dirt back over the weeds and up to the plants. Your implying that there is a solution outside of rear tine tiller, can you post more about that?

    • Yes, a front tine tiller is the solution, I borrowed a rear tine from my neighbor to see what it was like and if I should buy one , I couldn't believe how hard it was to control,, I constantly had to stop, pick up the tines ,backup and straighten the thing to get it back on course...do that over and over and see how you feel.....I took it back to my neighbor and went and bought a Troy built colt front tine tiller and it was waaaay easier to control and keep on course. @@Powerdogequipment

  • Pretty sure my GG grandkids want a tiller that doesn't try to lurch out of control everytime it hits a root... Reverse turning tines fighting forward moving wheels is how you achieve perfect balance with maximum till.

    • Hey Mat! Yep, hard stony ground is tough to till! Great news is that our tines go both ways, your choice, sounds like something your familiar with - Happy tilling!
