As World War I got going with its tangle of alliances, the war quickly spread beyond the borders of the main countries involved, all the way into the Balkan countries and the Middle East. Germany had been quietly preparing his secret ally, the Ottoman Empire, to join the war on his side, and lead him through a seriess of battles from the Black Sea to Egypt- battles that didn't always go the way the Ottoman Empire wanted them to.
Narrated by Captain Meatpie of the UK and Captain Kebab of the Ottoman Empirek, who end up face-to-face in the trenches of Gaza and realize they have more in common then they might have expected...

  • I love this standalone prequel to "Who started World War I?", and the story has taken place before that video, because France died at the end. The most breathtaking part is missile bombs that explode when they make contact with the ground, but won't shatter surfaces.

    • @503redbull the ottoman empire was in decline after the discovery of the new world since it lost influence with the spice trade joining the central powers in ww1 was partly too regain some of its lost influence they did fight agnist the Russian empire but the ottoman empire dident survive ww1 it collapsed and became turkey it was allready haveing problems and wasent ready too fight yet loseing ww1 was just the mistake that finished them off im guessing from this video it didn't have the resources it needed too win

  • Yes, the sad truth is that World War I was entirely about ego. Even when the armistice was signed, Allied generals ordered their men to continue pressing the attack until it went into effect at 11 AM, even countermanding orders of inferior officers telling their men to hunker down and not fire unless fired upon.

Though I cant help it feel if you get native speakers for each country, it'll feel like they are actual voices from those countries. Just a suggestion! • I'm currently studying WWI at the university and reading German soldier's memoirs about that war. War became his daily routine or maybe way of life. He defended his part of the Western front against the British. They were bombarded several times daily so he always looked at the sky, he always had a respirator. Death became common. Shot at the skull, wounded by fragmentation bomb, shot, trying to catch some birds for breakfast, shot through his cheeks, standing guard. In spring trenches were full of knee-deep water, hiding a skeleton in a French uniform. Once the author had a gunfight with an English rifleman who hit a sandbag with a shot and the sand flew into the eyes of the Germans. During the battle of Somma the English had a raid on German positions, the author found several German soldiers with their skulls smashed by the butt. Once he had a rest in a Belgian village. The village was terribly bombed, there left nothing but an incompleted shelter where people were hiding. I don't want to accuse any nation of their deeds during the war, just want to deliver the idea that humanity has no right to let it happen again.

  • World War 1 Summary: World War I or the First World War (28 July 1914 - 11 November 1918) was a global conflict fought between two coalitions: the Allies and the Central Powers. Fighting took place throughout Europe, the Middle East, Africa, the Pacific, and parts of Asia. How did it escalate:? The assassination of Franz Ferdinand stoked old tensions beyond the Balkans. The crisis spread as other powers pledged support for either Austria or Serbia. Austria knew that conflict with Serbia would likely involve Russia, which saw itself as Serbia's protector. Austria-Hungary turned to its own ally. Casualties: Entente Powers: Russia - 164 Million - 1.81 Million - 2.25 Million Serbia - 3.1 Million - 275,000 United States - 98.8 Million - 117.00 Million Australia - 4.5 Million - 61,966

  • Take some time and listen to this story. It was after the conflict on the fronts in Çanakkale in the First World War. After the conflict all day long, both sides were healing their wounds. An Australian soldier's painful calls for help were heard from a place close to the Turkish fronts. The commander on the British front ordered his soldiers to take the wounded soldier there, but no soldier wanted to go because he was injured. The place where the soldier stood was very far from the British front and close to the Turkish front. They were all afraid to go there, but then something interesting happened. A soldier from the Turkish front came to that wounded soldier with a white piece of cloth tied to his rifle. People on both fronts were watching the incident carefully. The Turks who came to the wounded Austrian soldier The soldier walked towards the British front, carrying the wounded soldier in his arms. The fence on the battlefield was dead-end, everyone was watching them. The Turkish soldier gave the injured Australian soldier to the soldiers on the British front. The British commander said something to him, but he did not understand because he did not speak English and he returned to his own front. According to the Islamic rules on which the Ottoman Empire is based, the wounded, children, elderly, women, etc. cannot be killed or harmed in war. Do you think a British soldier would do the same thing to a wounded Turkish soldier?
