Venezuelan here: most people who voted did it under threat of losing their jobs, particularly public workers. People care more about putting bread on the table than the desire of this socialist asshole Maduro and his minions to get the Esequibo again. Elections in Venezuela have been rigged for years, btw. There's also the issue that there's no real opposition, only a bunch of crooks seeking money and power for themselves, starting with that loser Guaido whi didn't do anything wile having international support.

Venezuela is not much militarily ,but Guyana can be taken over by a bunch of English hooligans😅
What exactly does Guyana have? There is always a big brother nation who will take advantage of a smaller one.
Quite agree. But they already have support from Russia, Iran and China that, belive me, will provide them with what they need
They do have a good army. Many modern Russia equipment. Only colombia and brazil can stop them in the region. Argentina can’t. And they have a lot of training in the jungle.
@larissamello3262 You seem to think that buying technology makes an army better but technology in the hands of a monkey does not an army make. An army requires training, discipline and a positive mentality. Venezuelans don't have any of these ( neither does Guyana)
Brazil has already said they would guarantee Guyana's sovereignty.
Brasil is another poor and corrupt country. They will be fighting with sticks
I doubt that... They wouldn't want to be dragged to an armed conflict and most of all, Lula is a very lose ally of Maduro, at most they'd try to negotiate with Venezuela to avoid the armed conflict and keep a millitary presence on its borders to avoid getting involved!
no they didn't
As much as you can depend on Joe Biden to defend you… 😂
brazil is sending 30 war tanks
As a guyanese, I hope this conflict opens the eyes of my fellow guyanese and the government. Instead of spending money haphazardly on infrastructure they should also think about security, its no secret that every major economy wants oil and rare earth minerals that's exactly why China is running majority of the major mines and infrastructure contracts. Sad reality of the matter is Guyana will be like every other third world country out there. When we are in the sauce we ask the US for help, we sign contracts that are disadvantageous to us and then when the dust has settled we complain that the US is taking advantage of "smaller" countries. Guyanese people need to put their differences aside and seriously think about protecting their country, this conflict has shown that a simple army force can pressure guyana immensely and all it can do is depend on others for help, this is how America gets the oil from the smaller countries. It's supply and demand honestly. You want protection? Then we want X barrels of oil. Simple.
To happen an effective invasion from Venezuela to Guyana, they need necessarily to cross the Brazilian borders of which won’t happen, because Brazil has already placed military forces there and if Venezuela try it anyway they will have a huge problem. So I believe it is just Maduro’s speech to try to win the elections.
Why do they have to cross the border in Brazil if Venezuela and Guyana are next to each other? (I'm probably missing something so I'm just curious)@@lifelearner10
@@AC-yt3we theres no access to Guyana without traversing through this route,,,the other areas are impassable.
Building up the military will take time and money, and it is likely that the matter will be settled one way or another before this happens. My suggestion would be to see if the US and UK, neither of who are fans of Maduro in Venezuela and opposed to Venezuela expanding their borders and see if they are not willing to put small garrisons there to deter an invasion. Same with Brazil - they are not happy about this either.
@stephanledford9792 very good point. I agree it will take time to implement security measures but it's also something they need to start right away and yes more than like the US will step in and Venezuela will back off since they know better than to provoke the US. I would like to see my country grow but that growth won't happen unless the people fight for it as well. If things stand as they are simply every new govt will try to undo what the other has done and push their personal agendas, I hope Guyanese can see this and set our differences aside and work towards bettering the country not for us but our children

I think Venezuela's ties with Russia have a lot to do with the trouble.
All of these "sudden" conflicts currently - the conflict over Gaza, this one and potential future ones are Russia using proxies to cause distraction. Russia cannot defeat Ukraine as long as it has continued high level Western support, so they're trying to distract the West and force it to lower support to Ukraine to assist elsewhere and then force a breakthrough in Ukraine.
Venezuela is the only country in the world with an ocean-wide source of oil but turned from a rich country into one of the poorest on earth. The only reason it's doing this right now is to focus attention away from domestic issues to issues outside of the country.
The classic 'short victorious war'
Yeah and why is that because they want to nationalize their oil so their citizens can profit from it instead of Western multinational companies. The reason Venezuela is poor now is because of Western sanctions and the removal of their oil from the global market by Western powers.
That is tahnks to socialism
Falkland Islands War II
@@zamirroa Its due to power grabs by political leaders and an attempt to buy people off with cake and circuses instead of focusing on real issues. That and a serious case of dutch disease, but most of the rich oil states have that.
It's not about needing the oil, it's about killing the competition. One of the very same reasons Russia invaded Ukraine, after they discovered massive oil fields and gas, in 2013, that could replace the russian supply to the EU.
I haven't heard of that one, I think you taking it out of your azz! Where did they discover oil in Ukraine?
@@quidproquo7044 for that situation its about natural gas not oil.
no its not. russia invading ukraine had nothing to do with oil/gas. the real reason why no one will ever know but only speculate. however what makes more sense is more about strategy. before the attacks, there were talks of Ukraine wanting to join NATO. to the Russians, this is a huge no no because if Ukraine where to join this would move NATO forces closer to Russia and their leaders certainly do not want this. second reason that could be why the attack is economic. between ukraine and russia, they supply i believe 1/3 of the world's grain. russia economy is mainly driven by Oil/Gas but this is not a long term sustainable model ever since EVs and Green energy are slowly becoming a thing. strategically, if you are russia, you would want another large source of income. controlling 1/3 of the world's grain would be a very interesting move. third, its the Sevastopol Naval Base in Crimea. the reason why they attacked Crimea in the first place is because of that Naval base. Russia wanted to have land connected access to Sevastopol. the first part of that move was to annex Crimea which they did in 2014. after building that bridge connecting russia to crimea, they wanted more access..hence the attack on ukraine to claim that lower part to connect russia mainland to crimea. now why is this Naval Base important to the russian? i believe its their main base on that black sea. but this is also all pure specualtion on my part.
the puppet government of Ukraine sought to undermine Russia and enter NATO, just as America would not allow Soviet to establish bases in Cuba, Russia is now too doing the same though NATO and US is forcing the puppet government to resist as they launder endless amount of money and test both sides of weapon systems.
@@jaredrl06 it's both actually. Oil was found, in the sea, just off Crimea in 2013 and gas was found in the east and middle of the country. Here's an excerpt from 2013 "Ukraine’s state gas and oil company Naftohaz has reported discovering a sizeable oil field on the country’s territory. Nafothaz said late July 11 that the discovery was one of the largest oil fields found in Ukraine in some 15 years."

In the quest for resources, Maduro's move to invade Guyana reflects the desperation to offset economic turmoil. With Venezuela's staggering debts and internal strife, the pursuit of additional oil reserves seems like a misguided attempt to remedy years of financial mismanagement. The irony lies in the stark contrast between the country's dire hunger crisis, worsened by hyperinflation, and the audacious decision to engage in war. It raises questions about priorities when a nation grappling with food scarcity embarks on a venture fueled by desperation.
His priority is to stay in power. The desperation is obvious,he,s gotta know that the US already has assets there, including an airbase. And the army has been doing a bunch of war games and training with the GDF.
Only his desperation, not the people of Venezuela, he could not give any less fucks about the people of Venezuela and their hunger.
The people of Venezuela need him out of governance and someone who is for the people to bring their economy back. For decades Guyanese has been taking in Venezuelans and providing an honest job for them equally with our own, so they can feed their families better than they could under their Governance. We have a great relationship with fellow Venezuelans but their government is pushing for war to upset our relationship. This will not happen. We remain peaceful to the citizens of Venezuela, but their government must be changed or the people will continue to suffer and that's not fair. A government should care about their people first and foremost.
@IceMan-sj7ri I m glad you brought up that part. I do.nt think most people outside the region know that. He.s bluffing. He knows it would be a disaster to try a military invasion. Really ill advised move. Venzuela doesn't produce much oil because there are few countries buying crude oil of such a low quality. It's oil has a lot of impurities in it that make refining harder, as well as a refusal by many countries to buy their oil. Being an OPEC+ member they are also bound by their production cuts that all OPEC members have been doing over the last few years as the price of oil has fluctuated
In other words, sanctions by the west keep them from selling their oil efficiently
LMFAO dude where the hell did you get that is the reason? loool Venezuelan oil is extra heavy, granted but it has always sold the very same oil for decades. The decline has nothing to do with that you just wrote
@@angelhernand1057 I'm saying that's not why the was is over oil, among other reasons. They have no reason to go to war over oil reserves. I get it, the oil is off of their coast depending on your perspective, but otherwise it isn't really about oil.
US Companies have Refineries in Venezuela that were CLOSED by the Marxist Government so first point is B.S. Venezuela produces LESS than the cuts required by OPEC so another B.S. Venezuela IS the Problem, no one else is to blame, a self inflicted wound caused by GREED and Marxism
The Essequibo Territory has always been included on the map of Venezuela as a Reclamation Zone. Originally, the British Empire and the nascent Republic of Venezuela agreed on the Essequibo River as their common border. Years later, British explorers who illegally entered Venezuela discovered riches such as gold and diamonds, which motivated them to extend their border beyond what was agreed. Upon realizing this, and no longer having the military power to expel the British invaders, Venezuela decided to go for an arbitration award which in 1899 gave the British empire the rights over the Essequibo territory. 4 decades later, documents came to light that demonstrated the complacency of those involved in the 1899 decision and Venezuela revived hope for justice, so it turned to the request of international justice and that is how in 1966, Great Britain recognized the rights of Venezuela through the Paris Agreement, but it has never been possible to have a firm ruling, it is very likely, due to pressure from entities with dark interests in not applying blind justice, but with an open eye in favor of Guyana. . Like that or more clear?
Well explained.
Basically Venezuela HAS NO LEGAL RIGHTS awarded to it so any Invasion IS A LAND GRAB. Venezuela has the Crude Oil, the Refineries and cannot produce, WHY, STOLEN Refineries. Venezuela run by Corruption/Marxism is BANKRUPT so blaming everyone else. Sounds like Argentina run by similar THUGS, Balls Up, blame everyone else. Falkland Islands 1982, Argies signed the collapse of their economy. Venezuela about to do the same? Russia and China WILL NOT FEED YOU since they have NO SPARE FOOD. Invasion = Starvation

Remember, this KZheadr is not an expert. One of the main things to remember about this conflict is that there are no roads between Venezuela and Guyana, just thick jungle. It is practically impossible to wage war through the jungle. That leaves Venezuela with two options: drive through Brazil (which Brazil does not allow) or create a Naval assault. And the British have patrol boats in the area. Not to mention the Venezuelan Navy does not exist for most practical purposes. While this could be used for a pretext for war, we should not be thinking that it's going to happen anytime soon. The infrastructure for war is simply not there. This is most likely being used to rally nationalist support and help keep Maduro in power.
When a country can't feed itself, find and enemy, blame them and start a war lol

The map (0:04) shows "Veneluza". How is that for not proof reading before publishing.
Its wild how basically all of our geopolitical problems we have today is because of the British inability to stop drawing all over the map.
Romans too
Lol if not the British, they will still be fighting cause punishment border drawing is not that good
@@chiguireespacialespecialthe romans didnt draw, they attacked
Its calculated my man, the British were astute diploma.
You really think overzealous megalomaniacs would not engage in such actions in the absence of Britain? OfCourse that won't happen. Humans will continue to kill humans, seize territory, commit cultural genocide etc. etc. Just as it occurred pre-colonialism and will continue to occur post-colonialism.
2020s the decade of war and plagued
2030s: hold my beer
biden caused every one of these wars.
Where is this Veneluza that was mentioned at the beginning of the video?
it´s a secret!
Madoro is a joker😅😅😅😂😂😊😊
he is a thief
The historical perspective is an important one. This history is mainly overlooked by western mainstream news organizations and the grossly unprofessional and inaccurate "online news" sites. Protecting Guyana - sounds like an opportunity for private militaries. Looks like a job for: Academi, formerly known as Blackwater, is an American private military contractor founded on December 26, 1996. Black Rock Mercenaries are an elite team of hired guns to protect goods or chase criminals. Russian: The Wagner Group officially PMC Wagner is a Russian state-funded private military company (PMC) controlled until 2023 by Yevgeny Prigozhin, a former close ... Possibly Cuban, Angolan, or other ex-american group.
😅 7:51 could have used a Trombone but other than that...great work😊
what animal is that, but a tuba or a saxophone clarinet, akalimba etc
The most oil in the world right now and in such a sad place. The people could use that money to grow and safeguard themselves.
Obviously if you continuously refuse to show up to court the court show impose default judgement. Otherwise nobody would show up to court.
The truth is, it's about rum. Venezuelan rum is truly awful, but the best rum I've ever had in my life (and I've had hundreds of different ones) all comes from Guyana. This is bad news for rum lovers around the world. I'm kinda not even really kidding.
Extremely well detailed prelude as to the main reason for the referendum, but you forgot a "wildcard": South America. Trust us, we're fed up with Maduro, even if we're not venezuelans, we enjoy the fact not many world-changing news come from this little corner of the world, but I don't think we'll tolerate a war of aggression like in Ukraine and from personal experience, many venezuelans would happily take up arms against Maduro, and so a few in other latinamerican countries as well.
Is it true that the Brazilians want to kick their teeth in at this point?
Go for it !
One question i have is; would the Monroe doctrine allow the United states & its allies to intervene in this? After Theodore roosevelt changed it to be a general capability to involve itself in south America the USA has been somewhat obligated to keep the peace & some shred of order down there no? Not to mention if chinese or russian companies try getting that oil, that’s a genuine violation of the monroe doctrine, no way around that.
Also the monroe doctrine was for keeping the French british and Spanish out
US never never tried to keep peace in SA its always been coups, subjecting the natives and stealing resources
@@shafsteryellow russia is not allowed to occupy a nation illegally twice after guaranteeing its independence, and china has no right to the south asian sea and they know it, the United states is legally obliged to protect and keep the peace as is the western world, grow a fucking brain.
@@shafsteryellow not to mention, Taiwan was never once owned by the CCP, and is infact the Older chinese state with legitimate claims over Mainland china.
@shafsteryellow This argument fell out the window, no pun intended, the moment Russia invaded Ukraine. Russia said their neighbors are their back yard, well, this is ours. 🤷♂️
I think youre underestimating the draw of control over local oil production. It dosent matter if venezuela already has oil if guyana can undercut their control over pricing and distribution.
Why does it say Veneluza on the map, right at the beginning of the video?
Who'd think I'd go from watching Captain Planet as a child to seeing the end of the world with wars everywhere and climate change.
That's too fatalistic thought, world never ends by War or Epidemics. It will just suffer because of these events.
The global warming war is a war on you, to take your freedoms and control you.
This video is wrong, Venezuela accepted the arbitration and was actively involved, they even help to demark the border lines to which you cam still find at the borders today. The memorandum was never scrutinized and produced no evidence, it's just a claim. After the arbitration Venezuela celebrated the border and even printed stamps with the border as it is now, you cam still find evidence of those stamps today.
Im not disagreeing entirely with the premise, but it's worth noting that this Guyanese oil is apparently of a higher quality, requiring less processing, and is thus more valuable, and more economically viable to produce at a lower price of oil -- compared to Venezuela's reserves.
Interesting, though what does this have to do with Business? It leans more with Geopolitics
Perhaps Venezuela needs invading.
The US tried that multiple times.
if they had tried they would succeed.@@shafsteryellow
😂😂😂 Aquí los esperamos🫵🫵🫵🫵🫵🪦🪦🪦⚰️⚰️⚰️ , estos gringos creen que esto es Panamá o granada 😂😂😂
Correct. A bus driver is president and has transported most of it's people out of the country by creating a failed state.
they dont even have food, what would they use to invade
It's a rich country... Just look at it before the 2014 oil price collapse... when they sold over 2million barrels of oil a day at $100 to now less than 500k barrels a day at $30... In 2013 they were richer than Argentina... They're banned from global financial markets by the US and the US sanctions cost them about $30 billion a year... So between sanctions, covid, low oil prices and attempted US coup they've had a pretty shitty 10 years but they're still resource rich not to mention INCREDIBLY well armed.
Armas muchas armas Ak y Fal 😂😂😂😂
Yeah I think they already ate all the zoo animals.
2:04 i love this clip 😍. I loved to dabe chappelle show
"everyone wants oil, infact everyone needs oil" LMFAO!!! perfectly summed up!! Like in movies, the world is ending and the world is US alone 🤣🤣
The reason Venezuela wants this oil is because the oil that does come out of Venezuela is not very high-quality and has to be refined more than higher quality oils Also, Venezuela’s oil refining infrastructure is very outdated.
So?
so they have to send there oil to the one place that can refined it, The US.@@abrahanjosuerosasmogollon8507
Venezuela's oil has higher quality than Mexico's, and is comparable to the quality of Russian oil. You say you want Guyana's oil because it has "more quality" but that's stupid.
@@abrahanjosuerosasmogollon8507 so, the country wants that better quality oil to have an edge against the low crude quality that they have
The way to Venezuelan oil is through Guyana. You can do directional drilling from the Esequibo and suck oil out of Venezuela. This is about Venezuela not letting the West have access to their oil. Things will heat up soon as the US gets annoyed with Venezuela stymieing their efforts to access oil. The US has more than likely gotten a 100 year lease on land to build a military base in Guyana....to secure the oil and extract it at give-away price....sorry, to protect Guyana's interest, and ensure peace and security. Once in Guyana, you can never get rid of the US. The Cubans cannot get rid of the US military base on its land. See what is happening in Africa with the British, French and US? Remember, Libya, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and more recently, what was tried on Russia, but backfired? The US will plunder Guyana and leave it dry, just as it is doing all over the world. Colonization continues. The strong will take from the weak.
What are the details of the Geneva agreement?
