The Sheeran Loopers Story - (Full Version)
Over the past decade Ed Sheeran has paved the way for looping artists all over the world.
"I got my first loop pedal when I was 14 for my birthday, I used that same one right through from pubs, to clubs, to theatres, to arenas throughout the whole Plus tour. When I got to arena level the pedal I was using wasn’t fit for purpose and the quality of the sound suffered. I approached the company that made the pedal to see if they would make a custom specific one for my requirements, but it was a ‘no’. So I thought, why not, il just make it myself. Which is how the first Sheeran looper came to be, 10 years ago. Me and my team built one in 2014 for the multiply tour, which took me to stadiums round the world, and it worked amazingly in any scenario. I’ve had people ask me where they can buy them, but til now I didn’t feel we could mass produce them affordably, because it was so specially custom made. But we found an incredible company with Intime Audio who took the task on, and now we have the Looper + and the Looper X to bring out. Coming from someone who has looped my entire career, in every venue imaginable, these really are the best loopers on the market, and can do anything a looper might need, and more. I’m so excited to bring them out, and put my name to them, I hope everyone enjoys them, whether you are a beginner, or an expert. As a metal head his music is very much not for me but my god this man deserves everything he has. The definition of rock n roll. Did the toilet circuit, busked, slept on floors, overcame a stutter, played exactly what he wanted and is an exceptional talent. The complete story. Big up yourself Ed.

I’ve been looping for fun for 10 years and this is by far one of the best full featured loopers I have seen come to market! Exciting stuff!
Nearly as fully featured as HeadRush's Looperboard (which it ist clearly based on and was cheaper) or the Boss RC-600.
As a live looper who plays 7 gigs a week right now - I’m very excited to get my hands on one of these 🍓
My first band didn't survive the bandmates' first children. The second band failed due to different interests. The third band did not survive Covid. I think it's time to be my own band. Nothing replaces a human bandmate. But some paths you have to go on alone. Thank you Ed for sharing your looper with us. Nothing can stop creativity! THANK YOU Ed!

I've been eyeing some looper type pedals after my first one bit the dust in 2022, finally found the best upgrade!
I'm super stoked for this. Having built a handful of loop rigs using Mobius, Quantiloop, Ableton and loopy, it's super nice to just have one unit that's all in one case that you can pull out, plug in and go. Looking forward to seeing how it progresses.

I have a bunch of loopers. They all have issues with sound quality, lag, dependability or they're just to freaking complicated to use. I'm looking forward to getting one of these pedals!

Get the Boss RC-600. It doesn't have the sync mode he uses live but two more tracks.

So excited for this. I’ve always wanted the loop pedal that he uses on stage and now I can! Amazing what you can do live with one of these!

They (his team not him) used already existing hard and soft ware (4 Boss twin-pedals, a Roland DP 2, a Lilliput screen, a bigger (and more reflective) screen and Circular Labs' Mobius VST hosted in Ableton Live on a MacBook) to build "THE CHEWIE MONSTA" (a controller with displays). Then they built "CHEWIE II" (a controller made with 5 Boss twin-pedals and two screens) which controlled a custom VST which ran redundant in Ableton Live on two MacBooks. Even the redundant set-up crashed from time to time (for example: Shape of You in Hamburg in 2017 (I was there (he played it twice))). Now (I'm guessing on this 'cause there's no info) he uses 5 controllers (that say "Sheeran Looper" on them but aren't the once you can buy) to control the same custom VST.

All respect to the man who has paid his dues and now packs stadiums. As an 80’s metal guitarist/vocalist, even I can see the potential of this pedal, which is vastly unlike any looper I own. I’m looking forward to them being available in my country, although I could probably only afford the small version. Great stuff!
I'll leave the looping to Ed. He's made it all his own and it's part of his music DNA.

Just curious, doesn't Ed use a much bigger version of the loop station?
He has used the boss loop years ago. Then he had one built and it was called Chewie. Then a few years later, she had one built called Chewy 2.. The Ed Sheeran Looper that is being sold now is similar to his chewy two, and a head rush. People are making a huge deal over this new looper, but the boss RC 600 has so many features and has and 6 loops instead of four. Oh and it’s half price!

Yup except the Aeros has 6 separate loops I believe (like the RC600) the Sherron x has 4. The x looks like a solid looper but definitely not breaking new ground. Ed’s going to bank big time! Good for him
hello to you, your looper interests me but the boss rc 500 offers more things...an intermediate looper between the largest and the smallest or an update of the small looper...there you go, I remain very interested by your looper.
Just to confirm this pedal comes with a case to store it in, it has two tracks, an easy track switch and great sound quality?
24-Bit AD/DA-conversion (Boss has 32-Bit), 32-Bit floating point processing both at 44.1kHz sampling rate. No case

Ugh! And I spent thousands going through art school to be a graphic artist, and yet you got this hysteria. London muppet millennials will go for this shxt.
Actually as a sound engineer I can tell you this is actually amazing. Having individual outs for each layer of looping that can be sent to the FOH to mix individually like a band is huge, and would elevate the sound quality exponentially. One of the few new products that is actually worth the hype for live performance.
The funny thing is that apart from Sheeran no one else uses the loop pedal that extensively … so I don’t see right here a big crowd that will spend that much money … a boss with 100 bucks can do the job for most people
Is this based on the Mobius Looper that he used to use?
It syncs up in the same way. But he is probably still using the custom VST hosted in Ableton Live to keep vocals, guitar and keyboard separate.

Im glad he’s turned his custom chewie II into a production model, something I think every guitarist should have, the perfect amount of tracks that can be singularly used or all at the same time, the functions, and the fact it has the sound levels for each each and you can control the levels (anyone whose played an Ed song that requires a beat, a slap too hard can ruin the whole loop and sound like army marching shit😅) amazing Ed, now can you sort the price out though and make em affordable ish) 😉😉😉

Not the biggest fan of Ed's music, but what he does with a looper is very impressive and the Looper X looks fantastic. Well done all!
