@@peted5217 when I've done similar interference fits on tooling in the shop just using the lunchroom freezer. It's feasible, freezers are set to -18°C( -0.4°F), cold enough to reduce dimensions a few thousands. Plus heating the block, should drop right in.

I worked in a parts house with a machine shop, they would put the sleeve in dry ice for about half hour ,and use white lead to lubricant and pull it in with a air wrench and a threaded puller, and didn’t heat block,

Would of been even better if you removed the locating dowels for the head and cleaned up the block face before fitting the liners because the flame rings on the liners protrute a few thou to seal the gasket and you got next to no show cleaning it properly once liners are in.

And that's how not to install the liners. Heating the block, hammering are bad bad choices. You should just cover the liners with liquid nitrogen and after it stops "boiling" just slip the liner inside without any need for a hammer or heating. *Heating the engine case like that will deform the metal as well as change it's chemical composition* It will never be the same material as it should be.
