In May, Tua Tagovailoa and his family returned home to Hawaii for the first time since moving to Alabama last summer.
AL.com was there for a behind-the-scenes look, as the Tagovailoas reunited with family and friends for a celebration-filled week.
During this five-part series, TUA | Homecoming, you'll be transported to the reigning CFP National Championship Game MVP's hometown of Ewa Beach and meet the people who helped raise him.

  • I absolutely HATE Alabama and love it when they lose and I used to hate on Tua but after he got injured I started watching videos on him and his back story and family and now I'm happy he won. He's a really humble guy. And I appreciate his professionalism.

He totally stole the entire show he ran down the fastest man in college football and strip the ball.. I have been with them ever since through the bad times the hard times and the sad times thank God it's nothing but good times nowadays.

  • Oh man...I was stationed on schofield barracks. My wife and I made some great local friends. I can’t express how wonderful Hawaii is. It became our second home. I hope I can come back one day

Me also being Samoan like Tua, I 💯 percent agree with what he said about Alabama. Cuz when I was there, it was God, army and especially Football.
