I remember the boys making these in high school wood shop back in the mid to later 60's. They were a little bit longer though. But that is one nice looking bow. She did a beautiful job,with just hand tools.

Assuming you're from America, those bows you guys made were probably American-longbows. The asian bows are generally shorter because it's designed to be used on horseback

Personnal TIP : before I glue the arrowhead, I make a groove parallel to the arrow body to chase the air bubble, so there is a void inside and the arrowhead never fall down, even after hundreds of shots.

she has that one single arrow transition from the sachel to the rope. that is a fast reload if you are shooting on the galloping horseback.
I remember the boys making these in high school wood shop back in the mid to later 60's. They were a little bit longer though. But that is one nice looking bow. She did a beautiful job,with just hand tools.
Assuming you're from America, those bows you guys made were probably American-longbows. The asian bows are generally shorter because it's designed to be used on horseback

Personnal TIP : before I glue the arrowhead, I make a groove parallel to the arrow body to chase the air bubble, so there is a void inside and the arrowhead never fall down, even after hundreds of shots.
Bamboo arrows are hollow, unlike wooden ones, and do not require air bleeding

What are the threads she used while making the bow rope? I couldnt understand what type she used.
@@mrs.melancholia3820 Most likely nylon, but can be some other (PET, kevlar, etc) synthetic waterproof material. Not historically accurate but awesome for this purpose. Could be silk, but I doubt it, it looks synthetic at the edge where she cuts it.
