  • I remember the boys making these in high school wood shop back in the mid to later 60's. They were a little bit longer though. But that is one nice looking bow. She did a beautiful job,with just hand tools.

    • Assuming you're from America, those bows you guys made were probably American-longbows. The asian bows are generally shorter because it's designed to be used on horseback

This lady thoroughly knew her skill and how to use her tools to produce what she did. Any tool/implement, is only as good as the person using it. It was a beautiful, calming film, watching a craftslady at work, who showed such skill and passion. Absolutely fantastic x. I could only imagine, what an amazing experience it would be, to pick up, hold and use, something made with such love, skill, care and passion.   • Personnal TIP : before I glue the arrowhead, I make a groove parallel to the arrow body to chase the air bubble, so there is a void inside and the arrowhead never fall down, even after hundreds of shots.

    • @@mrs.melancholia3820 Most likely nylon, but can be some other (PET, kevlar, etc) synthetic waterproof material. Not historically accurate but awesome for this purpose. Could be silk, but I doubt it, it looks synthetic at the edge where she cuts it.

    • It's all staged imo. You can see they used a power tool to cut the shape of the bow except the last few in shown in the video
