This is the all-new Mercedes C-Class! And we have just one question to ask… Could it be the most luxurious small saloon to go on sale this year?!
Well, when it comes to the looks, there’s no denying that it looks fairly similar to the old car. However, that’s no bad thing! However, it's a different story on the inside, with the C-Class having undergone a complete overhaul, topped off with a huge infotainment system screen just like you'll find in the S-Class!
When it comes to performance, it seems Mercedes has done away with the old generation's 6 cylinder engine, so you'll now only have a choice mild-hybrid petrol & diesel engines to pick from. Given there aren’t any AMG editions available (yet!), the quickest petrol model is the C300, which comes with a 258hp 2-litre engine to deliver 0 - 60mph in 6 seconds - so it’s not too bad!
So what do you think - with a starting price of only £35,000, could this be the most luxurious small saloon of 2021? You’ll have to keep watching to find out!

  • mercedes' external styling is basically the same car for every model. I really prefer the last gen styling for literally every car except the A class.

  • Having been inside the new S class, that touch screen is still a tough pill to swallow for me. The good things about the S class are the new steering wheel and the driving position feels fantastic, and I hope those two elements are carried over into the C class.

    • A Jeremy Clarkson Passion electric sport vehicles are never going to work. The thing that really separates vehicles is their exhaust note. Why spend big bucks on a “amg” electric car that sounds like a Toyota electric car? The reason being “it’s faster and looks better” doesn’t justify the jump in price.

    • @7ension And people who opt for the AMGs are very specific about why they choose it. If its not bonkers and wild its a no no for that crowd. BMW M guys are the most likely to sacrifice the soul of the car for the sake of performance.

    • @@hatymb188 I honestly take an electric motor over an 4 cyl any day. The joy of combustian engines for me always came from the raw performance and sound of 6 cyl and v8. 4 cly leave me cold.

    • Yeah except BMW's don't look the same at all. None have the same lights, grilles, side lines, rear lights etc. Merc has been doing copy paste for years now. Audi did it for a really long time as well but their latest versions actually don't do this.

  • Hi Mat. Could you please let me know your opinion regarding petrol and diesel motors in terms which one should be considered as best buy having in mind consumption, maintenance, durability etc. I am looking at the brand new GLA but not sure which engine should I consider as a no1 option. There is so many stories around such as diesel power is a real power, petrol engine is cheaper for maintenance etc...so I would like to hear what would you recommend or at least what you prefer more. Thank you.

    • there are loads on the road. buy a used one and there is no need for mourning. world is ran by money and usually people with money don't give a monkey's about engine sound or cornering capabilities. they are more concerned now days about population control and depopulation of the planet. electric cars are being pushed down the throat of the plebs and u either build your own car or drive a toaster or a dishwash.

    • It's been that for years. They reveal a new S class. Then they reveal a new C class which looks like a mini S class. And then they reveal a new E class that looks exactly the same but can't decide if it has to be bigger or smaller, so it end up something in between. The only one's laughing are the new C class owners beceause the car they drive looks exactly the same as the next door neighbour who bought a S class and payed over double of that.
