    @thewedge8823@thewedge88235 жыл бұрын
    • A lot of In Utero's songs were written before 1993 or even during Nevermind's era, the only songs that may have been composed on 1993 are Heart Shaped Box and Milk It, rest on them were composed earlier. For example, All Apologies's first demo was played in 01/01/1991 along with an instrumental of Radio Friendly (which means both song were composed on 1990), Rape Me was written during Nevermind's production and Dumb and Pennyroyal Tea were written on 1990 too.

    • @Eme XII Just to clarify, I am not saying that Serve the Servants or others songs weren't written before or during Nevermind's era. Just that those particular two songs, may have been the only that were written and composed on 1993. The rest, are most likely that were written during 1990 - 1992.

      @davidchez513@davidchez5135 жыл бұрын
    • @Eme XII Earliest demos of Serve the Servants and Very Ape are most likely from 1992, same as Frances Farmer, which in fact may or may not have been composed on 1991, we know that Tourette's was composed on 1992. So that just leave Milk It and Heart Shaped Box as the only songs that were composed on 1993, I would dare, tbh to say that Heart Shaped Box was composed on 1992, tho. Milk It, I am sure that it was a semi random jam that turns out to be an okay song during the Brazil's studio session, like, come on, it has the same style as Moist Vagina and Gallon of whatever Alcohol Rubbing down some shit.

    • JD 5 13 I believe they played RFUS at the Off Ramp Cafe, which was in 1990. There's only a few seconds of the beginning of it that's been recorded as far as I know. Either way, that does go to show that it's been around for quite a while before being on an album.

    • Kurt pretty much wrote all of his songs in like 2 or 3 years 1989-1991. It's hard to know how long the writing process began before 1989 since you can't find many recordings, him being so young. He could have been working on a lot of different parts of each song when he was in his early teens up in his room for all we know.

    • Because he plays power chords with 2 fingers, he often slightly touches additional tone on upper scale. For example, sometimes he plays G5 like that -> 3 5 5 5 x x. This way he include 4th of upper scale. So, the chord became Gsus4. Probably at the beginning he do that unintentionally, but later he find it sound pretty good :)

Worn-in front porch, Kurt sitting casually, and an open chair next to him inviting the viewer to take a seat. That, paired with the warmth of this song, creates a welcoming little moment. I feel agonizing loneliness everyday, but something about this song and photo makes me feel less so.💙

If you could see what music became nowadays, no more soul, no more passion (or just for $$$), no more music deserving using that word. Even the good radios broadcasting nice things in the '90s became commercial af, so much that they became silent to me. I wish I could believe in God, I try but I can't. If I was one of His worshipers I would believe in Heaven and in the possibility to see you again after this life. Wherever you are, I think I'm dumb, or maybe just happy for having had, at least, the chance to see you once live. If ghosts exist please come and haunt me!

  • “It’s a ripoff” and “only steal from the best” is hilarious because I’m assuming he’s starting the running joke the band had about Dumb being the same song as Polly, that continued all the way to Unplugged. In essence, he’s ripping himself off.

  • I like that it is, at the same time, more dissonant yet also more pop than the album version. Also just to comment one thing I always liked about Nirvana is that they had so many songs composed years before they were officially released that they used to play live and record as demos. I confess during my teens when I believed I would be a musician (a fucking rockstar, let’s be honest) it gave me hope and incentive to just keep creating no matter if it was basically a one-man effort.

But next to it there is only a light that shines, public lighting while with a guitar, drunk, drugged, sober, tired I don't know. You just feel like you're in the right place despite what happens in your life That to me is this song.
