Their democratic institutions and the rule of law are very strong, even stronger than anything in the US. How about learning something from an ally for once?

Since after WW2, through ARROGANCE, IGNORANCE, HUBRIS, CORRUPTION, PRIDE, GLOBAL INTERFERENCE etc. etc. etc. the United States has continued steadily down a road of ignominy, violence etc. until it has now finally ended up as a VERY DANGEROUS ROGUE NATION. We have a large economy, a powerful military, NUCLEAR WEAPONS and a GIGANTIC debt. But, INTERNALLY our country is broken, divided and DOES NOT FUNCTION as a true country of 50 United States. Our bullying days are coming to an end, and our INTERNAL INABILITY to deal strongly and effectively with ONE SINGLE seditious, treasonous, fraudulent criminal name Donald Trump has shown us up for the BROKEN, WEAK, COWARDLY country that we have finally become. We will NEVER listen and learn from any of out allies - we are too PROUD and STUPID.

  • Conservatives today rely on political institutions that brazenly undercut majority rule. The Senate, the courts, the Electoral College - all provide conservatives with structural advantages at the expense of the many. But the Right isn’t content to sit back and cash in on the tilted playing field. It actively labors to restrict voting rights, skew the census, gerrymander districts, and generally increase the sway of the country’s most anti-majoritarian institutions. When confronted with criticism, they resort to the nonsensical argument that “we’re a republic, not a democracy.” Free speech rights, civil rights, and other protections are essential to a flourishing democracy. But conservatives’ contempt for majority rule does not spring from a concern for a beleaguered minority (unless you think big business qualifies as an oppressed group). The truth is, the Right doesn’t expect a majority of Americans to support their policies, nor do they particularly care.. To defeat conservatism today, the main thing we have to do is to explain what it is, and what is wrong with it. Q: What is conservatism? A: Conservatism is the domination of society by an aristocracy. Q: What is wrong with conservatism? A: Conservatism is incompatible with democracy, prosperity, and civilization in general. It is a destructive system of inequality and prejudice that is founded on deception, and has no place in the modern world..

  • Justice Merchan's "delay" is anything but troublesome. There are higher levels of chess being employed here. First, Merchan could be letting this issue hang over the head of Baby Hitler. Second, he could come out with a ruling with a proviso that any further violation would result in jail time. Third, ideally, he will come out with a ruling soon but will withhold judgment until AFTER the trial, taking into consideration any other violations and behaviors during the trial, and taking those into consideration in the sentencing phase of the trial.

    • One way is for the judge to simply ask if Donnie made the posts himself. If he says yes, he's violated the gag order. If he says no, judge will demand the people who violated Donnie's orders for him, if he refuses to list names, he'll be held responsible. So either way, the court has people monitoring social media. Prosecutors also have people monitoring social media sites. That's how they've been able to file a motion to request Donnie gets punished for violating the gag orders. It's not that easy for Donnie to deny these things. However, I don't think Donnie is worried about hiding this. He wants the court to waste more time dealing with this issue. It's one of his best ways to delay this trial. So far it's working. Working slowly, but still working.

    • Because the IRS is invisible.

      @RC-qf3mp@RC-qf3mp16 күн бұрын
    • Because the IRS would have to go through the channels and get Trump indicted for tax evasion and fraud. They would have to work with a separate team to gather evidence, present it to a federal grand jury to be able to prosecute Trump. Besides, mixing this in with illegal usage of campaign funds would just complicate the case. It's best to seperate the crimes and indict Trump on seperate charges. My guess is if Trump is found guilty in any or all of these criminal trials, then the IRS would work with FBI & DOJ go after Trump's tax crimes.

    • One of the concern is they think Donnie wants to go to jail so he can fundraise and try to rile his base up. They don't want to give Donnie what he wants for his political circus. Personally I think Donnie's plans would backfire if they jail him for the full 30 days. They've only considered a few days in jail, but that would work out for Donnie. A full 30 days and no Internet access would mean Donnie has to rely on others to do his grifting. Others may not get all the details Donnie may want if they restrict all visitors and communication. However, this could be spun as political and could get messy. Any other regular criminal defendants this wouldn't be problematic. That's why Merchan is dragging his butt. He simply can't make a firm decision.
