I always wondered if anybody could be a DJ, so I decided to find out.

For anyone actually learning how to DJ, the first transition you are taught should not be from 128 - 150 bpm
Amen
Truth
fucktheusername1000 why?
@@tnymag523 For a couple reasons - 1. It's better for your fundamentals as a DJ to learn how to beatmatch two records at the same BPM first. A beginner should be focused in this instance on mixing 2 tunes at 128, not moving from 128 - 150 2. It's also a bad habit to be moving up and down through bpms continously. Granted that may be the style of DJing one wishes to pursue, but when learning first its better to be able to actually match beats, as opposed to moving through bpms and genres in order to mix
fucktheusername1000 Thanks man, im just beginning to learn, jut bought my self a controller and researching on this. I really appreciate the info and more the reply.!
Hopefully people understand there is a difference between being a "DJ" and producing edm.
MagicJava very true
MagicJava Thank You!
Oohh
MagicJava correct.
Yeah man
As a DJ i can tell you its a thankless job. No one ever notices all the smooth blends but notice if you mess up. Its like salt in food. You only notice is if there is too much or too little never when its just right.
And sometimes a fuckup can look good. I watched a DJ backspin out of a track and cut to the next because he fucked up the beatmatch, and the crowd went wild for him. It is a very deceptive job also....
@@viralshark you can only get away so many times before people get tired of it
But when you're playing live and you have a good transition and another dj notices that, that's one of the best moments of your evening
Just like all other jobs, you are paid to do it perfect
@David Erlstoke ahaha no, backspinning means he spinned the "vinyl" backwards
Can everyone learn to DJ? Yes Can everyone please a crowd? No
underrated comment.
only when people know what genre you play :p when its dnb party then go all in play what ever you like, analyze public
omg it must be so hard choosing what tracks to play
Not everyone can learn to dj either
An educational video from buzzfeed?! Holy crap.
ikr 😂
Say my name DJ khaled
I really had no idea how much goes into being a dj. It really is an art and takes a lot of skill. First buzzfeed video I ever hit the like button on. :)
+Shannon Vaughn first buzz feed video you ever pressed like on? They upload everyday that's ode come on
nikki riv I watch some of the stuff they put out, but have never "liked" any of their videos. They rarely put out anything that warrants a like. But that's me. Like what you want.
I got so fucking excited when I saw Dada Life
Saaaame 🍌
Feed the Dada!!!
dethswurl117 Me tooooo...who are they?
dethswurl117 I knew it was Dada Life as soon as I saw all the bananas.
gyqz they are has beens, no longer relevant on the scene
'Hi BuzzFeed bosses, I want to go to a festival, meet my favourite djs and learn how do DJ. How can I get you to pay for it?' ...that's the genius of this video
0:02 girl: what do you think he's actually doing up there Ryan: i have no idea RYAN'SLOW VOICE: so the case remains UNSOLVED
LOL
Learning to DJ itself is not hard. But the real challenge is reading the crowd and trying to control them, playing the right songs and switching at the right time to keep the crowd energetic and going. That's not easy.
Chen Boi true say
Chen Boi well it depends on how much help you get to learn everything. but I do agree that working the crowd is always the hardest part.
yeh thats not hard but you arent a real dj with turntables and records. thats hard and dont even front like it aint, but you wouldnt know
Yooosheer DJing with any Equipment aren't easy cuz its not about the technical part (which is not easy as well) only but many more
I agree w you 100%
Djing is like learning to ride a bike. Producing is like trying to win Tour de France.
Nick Barrett meh...I would say being a GOOD producer...right? Technically anyone can produce....garbage lol
yeah but with everyone being chris froome and you have a 100 pound weight attached to your bike
It's the new escuse for djs
Nick Barrett Djing is easy to learn but very hard to master, it's a very big step up from knowing the basics to being an advanced dj and djing a clubs.
Nick Barrett And no, producing is like winning tour the France with a motorbike
"Hard trap" nah bro, that sounds like hardstyle to me.
it is. Shame that they stole those big synths, put under a hard kick and a trap segment after it and they call it hard trap :DDD too funny not to say it out loud :D
Hard trap is just SAYMYNAME's genre child. He probably calls a bunch of his tracks that even when they're not entirely hard trap
@@k9gao the guy made it cuz he was at the right place at the right time, had the money to be famous and got the right contacts...if you listen to the segment that was recorded on showing how to mix, the guy just does a poor mix, instantly cutting one song, on top of that not even beatmatching correctly...so why do you have pro equipment, shoot a segment if you don't show it right? Right? The guy is just a producer who got an idea of mixing two genres, naming it after hearing it in many tracks, then just djing to promote himself. He is nothing that is professional... just like the video :D the only thing true about it is probably the fact that don't plan on djing if you're not dedicated, cuz it's not something you can live off of and probably love it at the same time. :p and probably one more real thing: Dada Life
Yeah was just hardcore with a trap breakdown really
@@griim747 that was definitely not hardcore my friend 😂😂, search for someone like 'mad dog' and compare it to that
"So I decided to come to a rave!" Ummmm dont think this guy knows what a rave is
definately not.. you can say by the genre playing in the background HAHAHAHAHAHAAHA
They tend to be much dirtier than that mate 😉😂
theo spotorno and with a lot more ket in them ;)
everyone calls every party a rave nowadays :D So bad :D
Very true
I got so happy in this video because I was laying in my bed wearing a banana suit. And then I saw my people 😭😭😌😌
+Panda San Haaaa!! XD
Why are you casually wearing a banana suit?
Everyone I was wearing it because I was snapchatting friends
+Sharday Price when i saw this video i just wearing a gorilla suit and i said to myself FOOD!!
lol 😀😁😂😤😧😤😧😤😧☺
shout out to the hard working DJ's out there
Thx
Thx
+Nahome Adu Thanks!
thanks
Tanks.
I’m a DJ myself and tbh it is pretty hard, when I hear someone say I bet I can DJ just as good as you I get pretty mad of how hard DJs actually work to get as good as they are.
I usually say, well come on then. Here's your crowd let's do it
Mellokid 30 Marshmello is also my favorite DJ
DJing depends on what your doing, mixing tracks you can learn in a day, mixing tracks uniquely you can learn in a week... scratching is the only thing i feel is hard with DJing, and picking good songs that will make a good set...
I bet I can dj better than you.
*Eggybread* beat juggling is hard too, but so much fun when you get the hang of it 👍
well, tbh it wasnt bad but you just did basic transitions. So if anybody says "djing is so easy" has no fcking idea
NikooLP definitely still easier than producing
@@josephrasmussen5548 easier, but more frustrating and sometimes very intimidating.
Good for you. Now learn to play a real instrument. And did you know there are varying skill levels? Must be mind blowing for you.
@@MultiEnoch123 Life is intimidating. DJing is easy. Technically, if you can put on a vinyl on a slipmat you are a DJ.
@@ConArdist I learned Piano prior to learning to DJ. It helps knowing the music theory in my opinion.
HE LOOKED SO HAPPY IT NADE ME HAPPY TGAT WAS AWESOME
Lmao xD
+Ana Squarepants lmao !! xD
Now one for music production. That is the hard part.
Hessy Laguna indeed :p
Hessy Laguna yeah spend some time in the studio and see the real work happen
Hessy Laguna Lol music production cannot be covered in a week... It's gonna take at least a year to get a gist of it, and then probably another year or two to practice and finding your own style. And then the next few years, you will have to find your companies to get interested in you. Hopefully your style is unique enough for that.
Well I mean assuming you don't have to promote your music to companies. Cuz that's not really part of it. Im talking about just the music. And yeah it would be difficult, if it was easy then it wouldn't be a challenge now would it?
Hessy Laguna too bad thatd take over a year lol
This is structured like an SNL skit
anyone else just happy to see Ryan happy?
I love his smile, and he looked like a child who's parents agreed to go to McDonald's
been djing for 6 years now.. never had a bigger crowd than the 1 week dj lesson dude hahah
you must be garbage then
Yea but i didnt say that this guy was trained by a professional DJ who made him look like hes mixing in a movie lol and all of that he had a paid crowd listening to him... ONLY KZhead VIDEOS A.K.A BUZZFEED can do this...
Ofc its paid, its like boilderroom, they pay crowd aswell
The crowd were other people from buzzfeed. They got them just to watch the performance - I doubt they got paid more.
Krillo so true :D
Brb I'm becoming Skrillex
Hahahah
Skrillex is a producer/composer (although he can DJ)
***** yeah I know I was joking, I actually like skrillex
THIS IS DJING MUCH EASIER THAN PRODUCING
^lol needs to chill
Been a dj for 3 years and this is not good djing at all haha I mean it’s good for a started but he started with a $8000 setup. And some were smooth transitions but most were not. Djing takes time to learn and experience over time.
I might have missed something here.. but, is DJing just the practice of changing the tempo to suit the next song and skipping songs?
JoshAU no
Plus they only showed transitions that were successful (almost) and I bet he didn’t hit all of his transitions 100%. Also it was a chosen playlist with bpm’s from 120-130 so it ain’t that hard to beatmatch.
rich people be like just buy the most expencive setup and dont know how to use it and just have it to show off
Yeah, this would be pretty much basic. There are the mechanics of DJing then there is the art and the art separates from the rest. Then someone didn’t put a challenging playlist together (if someone threw in a couple rap songs that were slow at 60-70 to give him some half time beatmatching).
3:31: „On this CDJ we have“... *uses XDJ*
Lucas undso thats a cdj my bro not an xdj...
Andres Shamis it‘s an XDJ 1000 mk1. Google it. no cue points no jogwheel lights etc
Haha saymyname is dope but you can tell he doesn’t look at DJing as a professional would. He just knows the performance measures not the technical measures
@@lukebmx137 he's primarily a producer so he doesn't have to know much about DJ'ing except transitioning and picking the right track. Most Producer DJ's are like that including me.
It’s a controller tho lots of people just use the terminology of cdjs or turntables and a mixer
Producing is probably harder tbh.
faint Producing and djing are both hard in their own ways. You can't give small effort/practice and expect to be good at it (or any other skill in general) I'm learning to both dj and produce. When i need a break from one i do the other instead.
***** Exactly, producing in general is quite simple, the fact that you have to make it good is hard.
Atlas lol that could apply to anything.
faint probably ?
I make a song at a weekly rate :3
To all of the people who are offended... Why? Did you even watch until the end? He said it was hard even with all the help and he didn't even make the music that he played. He said anyone could be a DJ if they put in the hard work. Buzzfeed does stuff like this all the time. They debunked the misconception that a DJs job is easy. Stop looking for reasons to be mad.
Yeah ikr
+Danielle Poteat Agreed. :D
+Danielle Poteat i agree lol I'm a dj and everyones claims they can do it lol and i tell them anyone can do it if they have a love for music and their willing to work hard just like with anything else really you have to work hard ahaha
Sooo Tru

7:01 that was actually pretty sick
i am a dj... a club penguin dj

Me too
Lol me too
O,G YESSSSSSS!!!!!
Rock on
He actually did really good especially for a week. I'd love to try haha it seems fun.
+Cheo Samad Learning to DJ literarly takes half an hour tops .....like honsetly it is soooo easy it's not even cutting to just mix two songs....i have to start producing live with remix decks just to keep myself entertained :))
I'm actually part of a DJ family XD! And Djing?? Is that what you could say it? Anyways, basically you need good smooth effects, and smooth and matching transitions:33 XD it's fun:33 and I suggest this online program you can use its great for novices and experts! It's called the DJ home system? I think that's what it is XD! And but if you want an actual like DJ turntables I suggest the pioneer, ( and some other numbers maybe? XD ) #Pro anyways it adds a great modern touch:3 XD and it awesome:333 XDD I'm pro at this stuff ishhh:)
DjGamingDoggie you know nothing about DJing do you :))))) well maybe you could fool anyone that went to that competition but other than that....
+Flex Official I know the other stuff behind it, and I just said the basics. I know there's more, and my dad is a DJ. And I know how to DJ, but before you make fun of me and become my sworn enemy, do you know how to DJ? And know many other DJ's? And yes I do:3
LOL...no he doesn't, you just rekt that punk congratulations... Got em... Got em good.
Ah I know I'm going to sound like a hater, but I swear this vid is a SLAP in the face to real DJ's. "Anyone" cannot DJ and you really can't get that down in a week in reality. 😓 Take away the sync button, pro equipment, pro trainers, chosen playlist, camera edit cuts, and if the whole set was played I'm sure it wouldn't be the same.
tbvh Yeah I don't think U would learn how to DJ In a week, but if U were just covering the basic fade in and fade out and your basic baby scratch then that would at least take U 3 days to learn then the rest of the 4 days to practice those techniques.
Put vinyl decks in front of him theres no chance
Krystal Lake ....exactly
Haha train wreck for sure but props to the guy he did good for a week.
Krystal Lake still a million times easier than producing lol. I see what you're saying tho
As a DJ, respect to this dude and to all of the cool people that supported him (Dada Life included).
So fucking sick! :) That makes me wanna be a dj!
Just have fun with it and it's all easy going from there
Viktor Zivina oh god not one of you
I have 3 dj friends who all do things differently from one another. One makes his own music, one combines completely different music and makes gold, and the other does like music transitioning.
+krystinisabear Someone who makes music is called a producer.
+DenTube I slightly agree. I agree in the sense if they're composing something completely original. It's only in my sense though. I'm a musician myself and I play pieces already created so I don't consider myself to be a producer. if I wrote my own song though then I would be... idk if that really makes much sense but everyone has their own take on things :) (not trying to argue like at all btw. I'm sorry if I sound cocky or anything :( honestly not my intention!!!)
+krystinisabear making music and playing music aren't the same thing. if you're making music your a producer, if you playing someone's else's music you're a musician.
+krystinisabear i would say to you that your are! correct. I myself am too a producer,so your right on point.
Honestly a musician and a producer are the same thing. But a DJ and a producer are not. A DJ plays music. And a producer produces sounds. (Songs) The real difference is that anyone can DJ. It really isn't that hard besides having a little bit of nifty hand and eye coordination, and a good ear. But producing is a whole new level.
He looks like Laidback Luke.
That's funny
Black Sunday looks more like Marlon from Bassjackers
Laidback Joke.
Looks asian + somewhat tan skin = Laidback Luke?
Thats because they both are Filipino :-))
I absolutely love the fact that DJ'ing is so underrated in terms of skill and time needed to get good. :)
I wanna know what it sounds like in the dj's headphones. Probably amazing
heyheychels The headphones are used to play the next song before it enters to the speakers to match it properly, so they can get the cue right.
heyheychels It actually probably sounds like an absolute mess, which is why you see them only wearing one headphone at a time so often. Haha
***** It does sound like a mess till its matched up. haha
Scott W Yeah because the beats have to be synced and then after that it sounds ok. It's the DJ's job to make it sound better than ok.
***** they put one headphone to be able to listen to the speaker and beatmaching with the master output
When I saw Ned dancing in he's button down shirt I was DEAD from laughter!
Cuz he was pretty dressed up!
I love how he had a whole new respect for djing by the end!
Good Job!! This totally pumped me up 🎶
dj deadbody is kinda cool for a name
I agree i thought it was a cool name too lol
I'm a producer and a DJ but I can tell you from past experiences that producing takes ALOT more effort and skill than DJ'ing.
Obviously it does
Bro I knowwwww
+DJ ARU Very true. DJing is about showing off your music collection made by other producers and beat matching them for an audience.
I love how people categorize producers and DJ’s into one big discipline called ‘EDM’ damn the amount of difference between producing and DJing is actually pretty huge (I know most producers DJ and a lot of DJ’s produce but they’ll know the most how different they actually are)
Respect bro. To get it in like you did and apply the dedication for a solid JUST for the sake of experiment? Mad respect. And a section to your channel bro and drop in a monthly live mix of a couple minutes plus. I'd personally be interested in how you progress.
Anybody can play music, but not just anybody can DJ. There's a HUGE difference between the 2. Think deep.
I can DJ I'm Dj Apex
No you're batman.
especially when it gets down to adding turntablism and controllerism flavors
How close is producing to djing?
+Dirty Frog Nothing of the kind
pick song + press sync = anyone can DJ.... you wont be a good DJ though also, when is DJ Dead Body dropping his mix tape?
sync is Ez mode
Joe Bailey I pray for the world when it does. It will be so fire we won't have any chance to escape.
Joe Bailey exactly lol
Joe Bailey When can I get this new turntable with a "sync" button? Also, there are song that would confuse a computer. Humans can better tell the bpm of a song.
And now a days you gotta make your own songs
4:46 omg I can't 😂😂 still love this though, sounded amazing for 1 week of training! 🔥🔥
Djing is more about reading a crowd and knowing music styles really well. Half the time its just showing people songs they’ve never heard before that they really enjoy. Some crowds want house music, some want trap. The actually djing part is pretty easy, 8 beat and 16 beat transitions are easy
I don't know about anyone else, but I'd DEFINITELY buy a ticket to this show
I agree 100%

when u wanna be a dj but u remember ur a broke boi
Mona Vincent you can find some cheap equipment pretty easily
Hate when that happens
bro, I started with a software controlled with my keyboard and mouse... you can learn the very basic stuff with these.
bruh he reminds me of laidback luke
Yes!!!
Asian djs are the best
+Danial3W thought LBL was Dutch
Kevin Loftus He is half Asian(Filipino), like Steve Aoki.
Danial3W except Aoki isn't an actual DJ
Damn if he can do it, I can do it. I wanna learn how to be a DJ!! Been wanting to be a DJ for a long time
Very expensive.
David lee Barrientos pick up a guitar instead
Very VERY expensive
you don't need any equipment to start, you only need a mac or a pc/laptop and the software,
i'm 14 and i do my music in logic which is a software for mac but for doing sets, you can have the equipment which every dj has or have the equipment in your laptop/pc/mac software (forgot the name)
I've been DJing for the past 15 years and I'm still learning.
what would be your biggest tip for a guy just staring? I love old-school house, hiphop, funk and all I wanna do is play all the different music I like and mix it together
prettymigzu I would say learn software first. Then go ahead and buy a controller. Few tips, -Crossfader and Sync are ok to use -Samples are also ok -You can adjust the key of a song -Practice as much as possible -If possible, try not to rip songs off of SoundCloud -Watch other people to learn tips -The time it takes to learn can vary upon the person, someone might learn in a few months or in a few years -Only buy lights/professional speakers after you have your actual dj equipment -Make sure that the controller you buy is compatible with your software -DJing for free is a good way to learn how to read a crowd -Don’t assume you have to produce to be a good DJ -Try to choose songs with similar tempos to making transitioning easier. That’s all I have to say. Hope you have a fun time being a DJ!
Wowza you got me smiling through this whole video!❤
I love how the guys from Dada Life, look at him like proud parents. These guys are awesome.
Anyone can DJ, thats no mystery. But very few have the skill to produce music. Hell, people like deadmau5 says all the time "DJing takes no skill", which he is 100% correct. And he is a DJ himself (Well, He is more a producer then a DJ, but still)
NFS_Jacob (Code_404) *foh
DreTaylor No. Its because he cares more about producing music (Requiring MUCH more skill) then DJing. And besides, he is one of the few "DJ's that do it live, others like Avicii, david guetta, ect usually do their sets prerecorded, and funny thing is, is that those guys are known more for their sets then they are their actual music. Unlike deadmau5, he is known more for his music, and not for his sets. (Which is funny, because remember, he is one of the few that still do it live.) And like I said, DJing doesn't take much skill :)
But it's still a skill because first of all you might think is twisting and pressing buttons right? Wrong, you need to memorize which buttons to use or not and know what they're call. It takes time to know what you're doing. It's best to do it in a young age like 12-14 because you won't forget easily.
Deadmau5 is not a DJ. He has his own set up and has live performances. Like Porter Robinson, Madeon, The Glitch Mob
Dante Zazueta I know. He also has "Unhooked" sets where he does just live DJing (Not planed) and then he has his normal sets that he normally plays at festivals and stuff.
I just started dj'ing vinyl for 6 months now, been using cdj's for almost 2. I would say anyone could dj, especially technical wise. It's reading you're crowd + playing outside of your room (big speakers, darkness, pressure) wich makes a good tableist.
As an amateur DJ I could easily say that was impressive!!!. The result he got in one week did I get in one year...RESPECT!!!
I DJ... most people think that it's easy. It's not as simple as you think.
well... no, it's not. There's beatmatching, scratching, entertaining everyone on the dance floor, seeing if they're into the song, etc.
Lol it's freakn easy. You transition songs that already exist and colliding them together. Music producing is much more complicated. Making the tracks is the hard part. Performing is easy. What studio do you produce in? I'm at jump studios for now.
... I produce too. And yeah haha by comparison DJing is simple
JamFilms Trueee, everyone has a lack of respect to DJs nowadays probably because the lack of use of them in music today, not like the the 80s - 90s. From this video people probably have even less respect now.
Exactly.
Still have more respect for musicians. But I dig it
Pazkizzle Haha yeah ikr, 1 week? Ever heard of the 10,000 hour rule? xD
+Triangle Emperor Timbale Mastur That if you practice something for 10,000 hours you are an expert on that particular thing. in that case I have :P
Lene Rush Yes, exactly that. My point was that, the very fact that it is a _question_ whether or not someone can become a semi-proficient DJ in a week is so incredibly ludicrous. I am a professional jazz drummer and teacher. I know a _lot_ of guys who've shed 8 hours a day for years and committed every aspect of their life to becoming the best musician they can be, who barely make a modest living. And just as many people put in the 10,000+ hours and don't even make it. They end up going back to school to pursue law or something. A Buzzfeed employee found that becoming a DJ in a week was harder than he anticipated? Lol, you see my point. Joelajuie Pdp Dilla forever!
Pazkizzle most popular DJs are musicians ... they make their own tracks - the fact that (some of them) dont use real instruments does not demean their music
+Pazkizzle Djs are musicians. I play piano and guitar and I dj. Djs are just as good musicians as people who play instruments. Don't try and differentiate between a DJ and an instrumentalist because they both play music, and that's the definition of a musician.
Had a set playlist that would sound good by someone else, professional training, almost 10,000 dollars of equipment, a crowd that was told he was a beginner and half a million camera edits, that's not really being a DJ, that's buzzfeed trying to make hard things look easy.
Too right. I've recently got hold of a DDJ-400 and after a few weeks I can "DJ" and look almost good in front of my friends that know no better but in terms of actually being good enough to work big clubs/events it's definitely like learning to play an intrument and involves a lot more skills in general if you are at the pro level. Anyone who says it's 'easy' hasn't got a clue.
U nailed it bro, and u have inspired a lot of people
Ryan I will legit pay you 5,000 to come dj my bday party
same!!!
5,000 what? Unicorns?
+Purple Wurmple I wouldn't mind being paid 5,000 unicorns
unicorn farts tho
+Purple Wurmple don't objectify unicorns xD
If Paris Hilton can be considered a dj, then yes, you too can become a dj. Case closed.
Michael Heffernan sha fakes it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! stop accepting her as a self proclaimed dj then, anyone can put dj in front of their name
+Michael Heffernan If Kanye West can be considered a presidential candidate, you too can ruin the worl... The point is NO ONE considered them either.
+Michael Heffernan she is no where near an actual dj
haha! ladies have an advantage here! you can ge a really useless dj (mattn) as long as you are fit and/or topless! ie paris hilton in pasties.
on the other hand, FERNANDA MARTINS absolutely rocks !! now SHE can DJ
For One Week That Just Sounds Like The Good Stuff Already!
That’s amazing you learned all that in a week it took me a year? Just wow I you killed it brother! 👌
that aint hard trap. thats Hardstyle with a trap drop

Traditions
SkrillexEverything A.K.A Tatrii heehee
Lmao I didn't even catch that. I bet its only us nerds that know the difference though, most DJs probably just see it as the "new" CDJ like when it went from the 1000 to the 2000.
LJM2stepspain True
LJM2stepspain just like all the parents call every single platform a gameboy
4:51 sleep paralysis demon in the background
Calvin Blake called a camera man
I’m gonna be honest it’s not that easy to learn how to dj and this guy for real smashed it Nice job
Nice... And remember, DJ-ing is not only doing transition from song a to song b. DJ-ing is kinda like playing guitar or other music instrument, if you can play guitar with 3 chord songs, then yes you can play a guitar. if you can do transition between two songs smoothly, then yes you can DJ-ing. but are you a good guitarist with that basic skill? that works too in DJ-ing. there are still more technique to learn and more creative mixing skills to explore. IF the question is only "can anybody become a DJ?", YES. "can anybody be a DJ in a week?" YES, or even less than a week (if the standard is just to do transition between 2 songs and simple fx). Also, you have to know that DJ is not playing the full song instruments on stage, they play tracks, and they are not the one who make the song, EXCEPT they are DJ/Producer. DJ/Producer is a DJ that also a producer, or, a Producer that can DJ-ing. A good DJ is not always a good Producer, Not all DJs can make their own song, Not all Producers can DJ-ing. Most famous DJ that you maybe know, is DJ/Producer. Can anybody be a DJ/Producer? YES, but it can't be in a week cuz you'll have more things to learn and practice. I hope this information is helpful, cuz some people still have misconception about that.
Louis Upton yo reply is cringy than anything else
Good points!
don't think anyone can produce as u mentioned tbh and so true that what he did in video is not all about djing. this was only the basics of it
Jason Smith djs who don't use hi mid and low extensively aren't good ones but there are some who use those what you call "completely useless knobs" well and extensively to do more than perfecting the live Sound and to even mix well layers of tracks over other ones and more so they ain't useless as u mentioned at all for good djs who know how to be creative and use such small things for others to be big things for them.
+DJ WildLion yes, you are right, sir :)
I kinda actually want some of these songs on my playlist now :P
Same
4:33 YESSSS OHMAHGUH LOVE IT
6:58 that was clean and dope drop 😎
ggakaw 2 do u happen to know the track at 6:58
DJ M3LTD0WN NOPE
It’s called “All Alone” by Bare. I heard the guy who wrote it is super sick at stuff.
2 types of 'DJ' in this world: - Producers that can/do DJ - DJ's People need to stop assuming just because you're a DJ you spend days in a row working on tracks in a studio
Oh my Goooood, Ned's in that video and he isn't talking about his wife :O
He hasn't talked about her in a long time... Get with the new times... THE SAD NEW TIMES
+Alexandra Tarasova what happened?
I love how he went to a Dada Life Rave😂❤️
Coming from an experienced dj and amateur producer, I thought you did an amazing job!
Asking a professional DJ if what they do for a living can be done by anyone; I'd be insulted
+Matches_Malone Honestly DJs know that. If you're not a dedicated turntablist, it's really about production...
+Matches_Malone the technical aspect of DJing is just one thing you have to be good at. Reading a crowd, being able to make smooth transitions and being able to handle the pressure of being the center of attention for an hour with all eyes and ears on you are things you learn the more you DJ in front of people. But you probably won't get to that level unless your productions are solid/really good. So being a DJ in this modern era is more about production and feeling than just technical skill. Like Dada Life said in their video, generally speaking anyone can learn how the technical points of DJing but DJing is not just all technical. There is much more beyond that. So don't be insulted! :)
George Hypotenuse and the Triangles Well of course, in that manner of speaking, everyone could do it. But that **with enough practice and passion**, in my opinion, wasn't communicated well enough in this interview. To me, it came with more of a "pick someone off the street and let them work the records" tone.
but you are 'anyone'
i have a question, what does the headphones do?
Let's you hear the next song so that you can match the rhythm
Anita Khong You can hear the track you have loaded on the other deck that isn't playing, so that you're able to match it to the song playing through the speakers. Then you can bring the volume to the speakers.
Anita Khong basically, they let you listen to the track that isn't playing, without the crowd hearing it, so you can make sure the tempo is matched and the part is *CUE'D up to where you want it. * (It's called the cue mix)
they let you listen ahead to the audio to prepare without it playing through the speakers.
y can listen to the 2 tracks together before everyone else can here it
Totally agree with you. It's not easy been a dj. It's easy to mix to track but what track does the crowd likes or when are you mixing in and out points so it's not easy just like he said unless you put all you passion into it you will never break to a top dj
Hahah i love how he goes full deep. Awesome video!!
I love how they just have a mini rave in the of a work day
That just wants me to become a dj even more. DJ DISK IS HERE BITCHES! I need a better life style then this...
lol 😂😂😂
Than*
***** don't you dare lump my little pony into weeb culture you pleb
+Ayy lmao Someone doesn't know what weeaboo actually is.
+Ayy lmao LOL you don't know what a weeb is
Definitely helps that you had a dope teacher! SAYMYNAME sets are fuckin' unreal!
The entire video was just me saying "CUTEEE" out loud over and over
I like that dude said it takes more time at the end of the video but it's the same with anything. Give a guy a guitar, a guitar teacher and a week to learn how to play one song, he will do it just the same as this guy dj'ing. He can do it but it's definitely something that just sounds like a beginner. Props to the dude hosting this video either way. Cool experiment for the most part.
We have a carbon copy of Laidback Luke.
I’ve taught a bunch of people to dj. My first and always go-to is vinyl. If you can learn the culture, you’re made. It’s a mafia. You’re either in or not. Vinyl is such a great tool to understand mixing. Once you can do it, all this digital stuff is just tools to make your showcase more stylistic and individual.
People arent going to these festivals to watch the best djs in the world... they are going to these festivals to watch the best PRODUCER djs in the world
And thats a fact
Ben ufo has entered the chat
@@themasterexploder for a man that doesn't produce, he is a weapon. I saw him live like a month ago
SEUNGRI, IS THAT YOU IN A DISGUISE?
Bollywoody100 I WAS THINKING THE SAME MAN HAHAHA
Where?
MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY LOL
looool awesome XDDD Cein : 3
Nikola Kurmele In the crowd! 7:50 ->
BuzzFeed lit AF
Very nice as a person that has been breaking in now late in my life you did awesome very good for one week. Also I also noticed the cord and I was cracking up because you could feel the energy from the tracks you played in all honesty that is the hardest part to get down becoming vulnerable to the music and feeding it to the crowd and mixing transitions. And I like Tranz!t!on
They got dada life😲 Thats cool
Saymymane made it big. Its so funny to see how he has progressed and found his own style after only a year. Much respect for the guy, Big fan!!
Literally anybody can DJ. My friend was drunk at a party and decided to dj, so he downloaded a dj app on his phone and dj'ed the whole party and everybody was pretty happy with it.
+Iyana Lopez djay is a very advanced DJ app do not under estimate it
WeActOnImpulse Official Thats because DJs entertain the crowd and impress other DJs - 99% of the time - if the DJ makes a mistake the crowd will not notice because they dont understand it - if your friend was drunk - probably most of the party was too - and they dont care what he does as long as music is still playing - DJing is easy , yes - but GOOD Djing - it takes time to master and be decent at it
I never said he was as good as a professional dj. I simply said that anybody can dj, which is true. Anybody can dj.
Art Cristobal That's not DJ'ing that's producing. Like a Skrillex or Mike-Will Made-It
WeActOnImpulse Official you can sat the same thing about a piano player - just pressing buttons - a guitar playet - just playong with strings - you dont get it do you ?
You're very confident bro, i hope i can be like you on the stage👍👍👍
why is Ryan so adorable in this?
