Yes
Vaseline/Petroleum Jelly is one product I will never stop using. It is my skins lifesaver, without it my face will be super flakey, and dry even with good moisturizers because of the way my skin is and where I live. But everything else I do agree with, especially rubbing alcohol and bar soap.
i agree about petroleum jelly, it hydrates and heals skin, this ban of doctor relates only for people prone to acne skin, which is not in my case.

Wait wha-😳😶
Copied comment.
Agree with everything except Petroleum Jelly. I can understand not using it all the time since it can clog the pores and is heavy, but it’s saved me many of times when my skin has reacted harshly. When I discovered I was allergic to Menthol and especially after using Proactiv, my skin was set on fire and it was dry, burnt, and felt miserable, and I couldn’t find any aloe products without alcohol (which enhances the burn and dries me out too) So I used petroleum jelly, and my gosh it calmed my skin down and healed itself much faster. And I definitely disagree saying not to use it anywhere else in the body too. Legit got burned all over my stomach and legs from steaming hot soup that fell into my lap and between the constant towels being dipped into a bucket of ice water every ten seconds by mom, the petroleum jelly in thick layers helped tremendously as well. I think things like that can be used in moderation, just yeah, not the other things mentioned, at least not to the face.
True
Hi, I just saw your reply and thought I’d recommend what I use, I bought an aloe Vera plant and it grows really nicely. It doesn’t take long before I slice off a ‘spear’ cut it open widthways. I scrape it off with the edge of a spoon. I grew it, so I know it’s organic and it’s always fresh plus it’s hygienic. 👍
Listen to Dr.Yoon. He knows his stuff.
It doesn't clog pores! You just have to be very clean before applying otherwise it will cover the dirt

Here's my list of things to avoid putting on your face: 5- sulfuric acid. 4- active meat grinder 3- nuclear waste 2- mineral oil 1- lava
Man, I wish you had told me sooner! 2-5 really changed my complexion for the worse. On the plus side, I was never able to find lava.
@@ck552 wait where'd you find no 3?? 😂 😂
Also anything from a dollar store, a clearance bin, or found under the sink with no expiration date.
Um no? That's a myth? You can definitely use lava on your face. Only once though. Pretty strong exfoliator 🤔.
I'm using lava for 40 years!!!!!
Here’s what I learned by 38; -Never! Never strip natural skin moisture from anywhere on your body. Your natural oil is better than any skin moisturizer in the world. -I don’t use toners, acidic and scented skincare. -I don’t do masks, scrubs, and anything abrasive. -I only use oil cleansers and only with light unscented oils. It removes black heads, dead skin and removes makeup, sunscreen while providing the best protection for skin. I don’t double cleanse either, just the oil cleanser. -Vitamin e rich butters and oils helps with hyperpigmentation, smooth skin, protect against aging. The real treatment for hyperpigmentation and getting smooth skin, is to not irritate and dry it out. My 15 yr old had really bad, tricky nose acne and nothing gently and quickly removed and kept away his large black heads like oil cleansing. I bought strips, and tried a suction pore tool for a sec and they are just too damaging to skin. This is how I got more into oil cleansing myself. Overall a lot of skincare is more a scam than it is a help. They have you strip your skin, so you can put their products to replace it. Your skin oil isn’t the problem. It’s your no. 1 protection but what you do to your skin can throw it off. I also learned hair products was a big issue for my breakouts. There’s so much you got to look into. I would just go with nothing and add little by little to see what’s the cause of your skins imbalance and you can start subtracting. The best skin is on those who do little to nothing. I even remember using face washes and not bc I needed them but bc it said face wash. Then all of sudden I needed them and had oily t zones. I’m glad that I have normal and a balance of matte and dewiness to my skin now. I don’t need foundation and I have never had that kinda skin since it was combination. I recently tried some new products hair and skin and all of sudden breakouts and hyperpigmentation came back. I just did an overhaul of everything I’m using and now my skin is balanced again. There’s dermatologist that say that hormones and diet are the minority of the causes for the public’s typical skin issues. They claim it’s more so the wrong things ppl are using and even the things that are widely sold from the beauty and skin care industry.
Thank you.
which oil cleanser do you use?
What do you use for exfoliation?
what would be vitamin e rich butters????????
You're wrong. There's nothing wrong with a QUALITY mud musk. And a lot of toners use witch hazel, NOT alcohol.
Well done for being honest well worth listening too ❤

Thank you. Finally someone I can agree with. Best thing I did for my skin is leave it alone. No alcohol or excessive carbs. Wear protective clothes when it is too hot. Now at the age of 57, no wrinkles, no blemishes or anything to worry. I use body butters if necessary only. My motto is, if can't eat it, don't put on your skin. So as a beauty treatment,, I need to go to the kitchen. Honey, milk butter, some herbs, yogurt, fruit peels etc are very helpful. So big corporation never got a penny from me, and that saved my skin. PS I don't use make up either, just lip balm, eye pencil and some basic powder in rare occasions.
I have used bar soap and body moisturiser on my face for close to 30yrs now, and I don't have a problem at all. I have one of the smoothest face ever.

That's because he doesn't have actual knowledge on the topics to delve into. 1. Depends on the bar soap, but for the typical bar soaps for hands (that I haven't seen in decades unless I go to my grandparent's house), yea avoid that type of bar soap on the face. 2. Petroleum jelly is fantastic to put on the face. Dermatologists love it. No other moisturiser is better for preventing transepidermal water loss. It's not "pore clogging" and we have known that for many decades. No ingredient in typical skin care is just straight up "pore clogging" anyway, that term has a very peculiar history. It doesn't get absorbed into the body at all. You can't develop an immune reaction to it because it doesn't bind with proteins. I think this guy might be confused with crude oil or something... I'd recommend just checking out Dr Dry on youtube, she's a dermatologist. 3. Body moisturizer is absolutely fine for your face. It's primarily a thickness difference. Standard moisturizers can be used wherever and this is also why dermatologists are so over "under-eye cream". Absolutely does not clog pores. This guy needs to learn more about supposed "pore clogging" and where this shit came from (rabbit ears and backs and such). Okay now he's selling his own face moisturizer... this is reminding me of companies trying to say that under-eye cream is fundamentally required. 4. The rubbing alcohol type of alcohol is used in MANY skin care products, and is required for a lot of them to work. There's no problem with using this. But if you were to just apply straight up rubbing alcohol alone, that would be pretty hardcore and, likely not recommended. I don't know if people even do that, I suppose some do. 5. My skin got better when I stopped using bar soap on my face. I started using a local brand available in my country, which is a "mild & water-based" cleanser. And thank goodness, my skin got smoother and pimples are slowly healing. Take note, I am acne prone.
And yeah, make sure the face wash you use is between the pH level of 5 to 6. As this is considered a mild cleanser.
Ik you are pranking me scara not falling for your tricks again. I'm gonna tell all about you to your mom hahaha, you're finished scara the divine asian slipper shall strike you down
@@mouche_pie most cleansers are ph balanced, so no need to check Soap is terrible for the face but facial cleansers of meant for the face... of course
And all facial cleansers are water base unless you are double cleansing at night to remove spf and makeup. You could use a gel cleanser and be just fine, unless you try to use oil base/cleansing balm that are only meant for double cleansing as first step. Chances are you are not really acne-prone, you just used soap... which is different. If your cleanser does not have ingredients that target acne but your acne still went away... then you might just have sensitive skin or you sensitized your skin with the soap
@@mile_851 You got that wrong. Not all facial cleansers are pH balanced. Most of it are too alkaline (just like bar soaps) which are also above the face's pH level. And don't tell me all cleansers are water-based, because they are not. Some are gel type, foaming, some have thick consistency, but that doesn't necessarily mean it is water-based. If you have pH level paper strips to test out facial cleansers, then go test it for yourself and discover. pH 5 to 6 are considered acidic and it falls within the exact level of your skin. I have tested out past facial washes that I once thought were mild but when I tested them out, I was surprised most of them are pH 8 to 9 and it signifies alkalinity. Which means they are too stripping of the skin's natural moisture barrier. To sum everything up, facial washes aren't all mild.
Thank you for mentioning Petroleum Jelly. I am an esthetiton. I've been trying to tell ppl about why they shouldn't use it on their face. They like to retort with their grandmother used it and she has no wrinkles. OR that Marilyn Monroe also used it for that sheen you see in her photos. Another thing Petroleum was used for in the Navy was to cover pipes on ships that were in salt water and rusted the pipes. Petroleum is also used in many medications today. I think you know that. 😊

Petroleum jelly is actually recommended by dermatologists for people with issues like ezcema and really dry skin. It can be very healing, but I wouldn't use it every day. As long as the person is washing their face thoroughly, morning and night, it shouldn't clog their pores. It really helps with my dry lips, during all seasons, and keeps my hands smooth.
It still clogs your skin
There are way better prescriptions and ingredients to keep eczema under control. Petroleum products are still comedogenic aka clogs pores and other issues. In some cases it can act as a protective barrier
@@jannettsnow2856 no it doesn't especially if you have dry skin. If you have oily skin then yes.
Might as well use coconut oil then because it’s basically the clean and safe version of that. Both will clog your pores(most people). But at least coconut oil isn’t a byproduct of OIL REFINING. It’s right in the name: PETROLeum. It’s nasty af and was just pushed by manufacturers as a way to make more money from oil. There’s no research that it’s good for you when we have other proven safe options. But there is research that was petroleum used on rats, and the rats grew tumors. Agree all your comments. Very well said. God bless
I used to use Toothpaste on individual spots over night, too much would dry out surrounding skin, so it was best to experiment. Sometimes id apply it and allow to dry and then rinse off with lukewarm water. I guess the fluoride may have help or maybe the mint. Tap water in my area has a high fluoride content already. Acne creams i used in the early 90s when i was a teenager such as Oxy10? - 10 being the strongest and you had to speak to the pharmacist about it first - contained peroxide, I think that ate/burnt through my pillow case overnight! I worked in a petrol station at the time and the environment affected my skin, so i spent time with cleaning my hands regularly and used barrier creams, a friend of mine at the same time worked in a fish and chip shop and followed my routines, however the heat from the oils and cooking made him sweat and now aged 46 he still has scars from his pimples on his face and shoulders! Everyone is different and some people are fortunate to have low maintenance skin. Vanity played a part in my teen facial care and there were lots of bullies that would point out even the smallest blemish on someone's face! The bullies in particular females would be absent from school or college for a few days every month!
When I was a teenager my aunt told me to wash my face with rubbing alcohol and then put the creamy Vaseline on my face... never had a break out. I guess I just lucked out.
Im going to copy u
Well this is actually works for me too. HAHAHA we are lucked 😂
Same, it ruined my face a bit, but dried up my acne/pimples
watch dr drays perspective on petroleum jelly. drastically different
Grandmother taught me to use petroleum jelly...guess depends on the skin type...as a woman of color it works great.
I wish I knew the deal with rubbing alcohol when I was a zit faced teen with oily skin. I couldn't figure out why it kept getting oilier. Sometimes in the early 2000s I learned why and I've never used alcohol on my face again. As soon. As I turned up the moisture, my oily skin became balanced. What a relief.
Yeah the Vaseline one is very controversial a lot of dermatologists swear by “slugging” which involves using a petrolatum based product at the end of the skincare routine.

She loved me and taught me so much. I was a nervous mother. But she helped me so much. We laughed a lot. She loved my husband. She validated, never dismissed my nervousness. Thanks to her . She was sick for a couple of weeks and told me I needed to be okay when she passed because she would be rejoin her son and be with Jesus.I promised her but it wasn’t an honest response .I was destroyed I slept in the hospital bed with her for 3 nights. She dies so peacefully just the way she lived!
"I help health conscious women over 30 look their best" Me: 17yo male 😳
Follow his advice and you'll look 17 for years to come. Trust me, you want to look younger. Lol
Wait wait. i’m a 17yo male… Are we the same person?
Is 16 close enough?
@3 69 with u ayy so am i
I'm turning 17 too Glad to know I'm not the only one haha
When I was in my 20’s and caring for an older patient I commented about her beautiful complexion. “Never, ever use soap on your face.” Best advice and I listened. I’m now 70. See my photo? Start very young taking care of yourself!
Yup and this photo of me was just a year ago. Take care of yourself and always use a daily skin routine. I even use body lotion all over my body.
@@joycehardy9422 wow ur so pretty
Woah you look fantastic !
How do you wash your face?
OH MY GOD, Ma'am you're so beautiful!!
Thanks for sharing Doc.
Is nivea a good brand to use for face?
I used water and Vaseline for over 30 years and I'm GORGEOUS ☺️
I saw where vaseline helped my sis a lot, so I started using it myself and well... I actually did see a difference
exactly what i do
How can I use it?? Please tell me the process.
@@its_eboni if you like vaseline give a try to Aquaphor in place of.
@@kaeteedwards7274 ooh thanks for the suggestion. Any particular product I should search for?
The one thing that surprised me (besides #1…) was petroleum jelly. I’ve used Vaseline and Aquaphor for years, and let me tell you, they were the ONLY things that helped with my dry, cracked, bleeding lips. Not to mention there’s a thing called slugging where people will use Vaseline or Aquaphor over gentle moisturizers to basically lock it in. I’ve been doing that and it’s helped my skin so much. I get that for some it can worsen the skin, but it’s only ever helped me.
My mom used to use strictly Vaseline for years & years. . I still remember beauty consultants asking her what she used & they would be floored when they found out!Although she’s changed her beauty habits & I hate to even say this, I honestly think she might owe some of her beautiful skin (at 74) to her previous use of petroleum jelly.
I had a recent scar and read many good articles online by dermatologists saying to use Vaseline/ Petroleum Jelly on it to lock moisture in on it to prevent scarring
@@michellea9857 well???
You need to stop using it maybe. Theres alot of face moisturizers not only vaseline.
dr youn isn't qualified in the dermatology field instead watch dr dray she's a skin specialist and knows everything about all different skin types and whats good and bad for each, she also stated that vaseline is not harmful for your face, i think most of the doctors on yt mentioned that vaseline does no harm and is in fact recommended, don't take it from someone who is trying to promote their own brand and isn't even qualified in that field.
Thanks a lot par Doctor for explaining and giving good messages to know about things I should never put on my face.
I personally discoverd the best and perfect mask made at home for the wrinkles i am so happy with the results

I literally use it everyday lol
so does it means it drys acnes/pimples?
Well everytime i wash my face i put a mosturizer ( one gor ur face😆) on cz i have a dry skin
It depends, I been using kojic Japanese bar soap and my face much lighter, no more acne thanks God. I used expensive cleanser in the market as in expensive and famous brand but I am sad no effect on me . I think it depends the skin type.
I put Bar soap on my face. It does dry it out sometimes but I put moisturiser on my face after and my skin actually starts to clear up and it prevents break outs sometimes, especially when you wake up, as some of your pores/redness would go away
I believe that beautiful skin starts from the inside. What we eat and drink as well as the air we breath is shown on our skin. So maybe consume your antioxidants rather than putting it on your face.
Well, there are people that no matter how conscious in everything they eat, they still have these loads of pimples on their face. You, probably were born with perfect skin and so it is easy for you to just say, it is all about what we consume. How about those people that are naturally oily in which they are more prone to getting pimples and the only way for them to treat it is by taking medications and through different kinds of creams? Yes, eating healthy can help but sometimes it isn’t enough to treat certain skin problems.
kim chi I totally agree with you. As a general way of life, we should do our best to eat right for good skin. With many people that simply is not nearly enough.
Penny Upson I actually eat pretty unhealthy and I only breakout on my periods, after that it clears up and I have great skin.
Jasmine Lola that’s wonderful for you now, but as you age lifestyle and of course genetics will play a part. We take care of ourselves not just for the present but more importantly for the future.
As a general side note, eating anti oxidants won't do much of anything because your kidneys clear out 90% of all the gunk in the things you digest. Antioxidants won't help with your face and you can't clear out your organs and stomach by eating them, even if they are healthy foods. Antioxidants directly on your face however does help because it fights off crap in the air throughout the day. It's completely purposeful to make cleansers or moisturizers or sunscreens antioxidant because it will actually help your skin, instead of digesting antioxidants which won't do anything
5. Bar Soap 4. Petroleum Jelly 3. Body Moisturizer 2. Rubbing Alcohol 1. Semen 😂✌
I was hoping this was a joke lol too early in the morning
Not all heros wear capes. Thanks.
Jasmine Jones I s not?! 😮
How about liquid soap

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HE WENT THERE! ROFL Gotta love Dr. Youn. A man who not only knows his stuff, but has an amazing sense of humor and no fear.
This is a great recap, thank you doctor! I use 50:50 alcohol and water solution on rare occasion only if I'm having a stubborn or particularly itchy breakout on my back (I have long hair which makes it get sweaty back there sometimes), and it definitely calms down the skin but dries it out REALLY bad so I have to put some of my best natural and organic creams on after (for example, eminence organic skin care is my go to). Also number 1 is crazy! In contrast, I have used menstrual blood before which worked wonders as a mask (I used it for certain spots on my face), but also dries out the skin if you leave it on for too long. It's a very potent source of stem cells and we just flush it down the drain every month. I will use it again in the future for blemishes but probably only leave it on for 5 minutes 👌🩸
My lips right now shiny with almost a kilogram of vaseline😌
🤣
Hehehe

I have great skin and I use body moisturizers on my face, use toners, and put petroleum jelly on my face. My advice is that you do what works.

I've tried so many facewashes, but none worked as good as littlextra rice berry face wash. It's made with black rice and white mulberry, and brighten and gives an instant glow to my skin. It's gentle, has a pleasant smell, and natural. It cleans my face very and makes it smooth and bright. Also, it helped lessen my acne too.

@@DoctorYoun sir. Hi..am from India.,my face is clear but have dark circles..what should I do ..
I'm not sure he's using ANY products, much less his own! I've yet to see an Asian Person with rotten looking skin!
Everything he mentioned was true, but he didn’t have time to name everything. Never use scented products on the face; it’s irritating and just like applying perfume to the face! Never use paper, toilet paper or paper towel. Always pat dry, never rub. When applying moisturizer to any skin on the body, do so when skin is wet in order to lock in moisture. Expensive products aren’t better. Stay out of the sun and take Vitamin D, 1000 IU’s per day. A bottle of 100 tablets lasts longer than 3 months and costs about $4-5. As women we’re prone to Osteoporosis, so it’s great to use!

Sorry to bother you but what are IU's?😅
