We're basically luthiers' greatest fans. ;) So its easy to love any guitar that has an energy or is done well. Like enjoying beautiful women. You don't just look at one. They're all beautiful right? Actually, I find my least played guitars are my favorite. I already know I want to keep them. The most played guitars are the ones I’m looking to bond with as I decide if I want to keep them or not.
First time I've heard some of your music- pleasantly surprised! Chugga chugga... and all the metal references. And ambient too. We're on the same wavelength. Do you drone? Where can we hear more of your music?

Thanks man. I'm not really buying (or selling) any guitars right now. That piece is just something I noodle. It shows obvious influences from Zep and Floyd for sure
Beautiful guitars, How I wish my guitars are that beautiful and "expensive". My fave is the Number 5, Violet Custom 24. For me that will END my GAS for a decade. It has everything.
Great video. Would love to see a video where you spec the Ministry of Guitar Signature PRS. Remember it cant be a Private Stock but something available for the masses. What would that signature look like?

When I got back into guitar, after 30 something years, I got a PRS 594 SE, because I heard so many good things aboit them. It was the most beautiful guitar I ever saw, but, the rolled fingerboard was terrible for me. The strings kept rolling off the fretboard. I am in Kentucky, U.S., so, I have a lot of country influence. Therefore, I have seen that all the best picker's play telecaster's.
This shows the myriad of reasons for choosing our "best"! I have 21 "best"! These are whittled down from 49! And the ones I just can't bring myself to part with. And like you they run the spectrum!

@@ministryofguitar Thanks for asking! Mostly inspiration to write original pieces. Some of them are so easy to hold & play. Others fight me a bit! Each having a personality of their own. And like the songs I write; they are also my children, if you will. All have a unique voice, function and place in my heart and hands. They have transcended their moniker and perceived commercial value! So, in essence they cannot really ever be replaced. Only imitated.

I expected a PRS domination, but not - although you own precious mouthwatering Private Stocks - a core 2005th 513 RW being your #1.
Thanks. I would say that the 513 Braz Rosewoods are as special if not more so than Private Stocks, given they can never be produced again
A 5 string jazz bass with an active preamp will cover any gig you can think of. It’s a great choice.

If you were a true minister, you would release some of those pieces back into the wild. Having 10 main guitars should be enough for the minister of 🎸 10 is a strong flex. I think maybe you’ve thought of it before. Sometimes you have to think of your portfolio 😂😂

When ranking anything that you have a personal connection with, you have to be honest with yourself. Just because something is your favorite...it doesn't mean it is the best. It is just like sports teams. I am a huge Montreal Canadiens fans. They are my favorite..but I know that they are not going to win the Stanley Cup next year. You have to be honest and realistic. I have a lot of nice guitars. But my favorite, would be considered to be the best of the bunch of paper.

For me, if I'm not playing a certain guitar it will be sold or more than likely I wouldn't buy it. If people want to collect guitars, I'm fine with that, collecting anything is not my personality. I collected little things as a kid, I just went through 1500 lapel pins. They're sorted, I've put one on every guitar strap & now they're in a box in my basement that I wont see for a few years. I'm 44 years old & I really don't like clutter, if I'm not using something that's not seasonal, it must go.
