The Volkswagen Polo is a stylish and refined small family car that offers a premium feel and impressive comfort. Though it may not be the most exciting hatchback to drive, the Polo provides a very easy and relaxing everyday experience.

Handling is safe and predictable rather than fun.
When it comes to kit, the Polo again impresses. Even base models feature LED headlights, smartphone connectivity, cruise control and numerous driver assistance systems. Higher trims add luxuries like sat nav, adaptive cruise control and beats audio. A raft of options are available too, although these can bump up the price.
Running costs are competitive thanks to the economical engines and low emissions. Resale values are traditionally very strong too. The Polo has an excellent 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating, with standard auto emergency braking across the range. Reliability is also one of the Polo's strong points.
Overall, the Volkswagen Polo offers sophistication beyond its size. Buyers looking for comfort, quality, and practicality will find it hits the spot. Those seeking driving thrills may want to look to sportier alternatives like the Ford Fiesta. But as an accomplished all-rounder, the Polo is easy to recommend.
