My wife and I have been here now for almost 2 years - absolutely love the diversity and warmth of the people, great place to live indeed
I humble to say.. Welcome to Malaysia.. Wish u have a great time staying here
What's your, and your wife's favorite dish?
I spend 4 years of my life there during college.. wonderful country.. friendly people.. i have nothing but love and respect for Malaysia.
Very good you did not overstay as that is common with Pakistani,Indian, Bangladesh and Nigerian , Somali and some Eutopean citizens.
Am not Malisian, but beautiful comment thanks.
As a Malaysian..i wanted to say that, if there's an unfriendly Malaysian or someone who's kinda awkward, they're probably just shy. For example, Malaysian like me. I have seen exchange students at my university, and i wanted to befriend them, but I'm just too shy 😭. I hope they don't think that I'm not friendly. Anyway, you guys and other foreigner are welcome to stay as long as you want !
5:57 Window grills on high rise apartments are safety measure for kids. I don't want my child accidently YEET off the window
Same like what happen to Eric Clipton Son..so sad the tragedy could happen when there are no safety..
also can protect from criminals breaking in
Happy to know that you enjoyed your time in Malaysia and want to go back in MY. I spend 6 years in Malaysia and travelled every corner and tourist places in there. It's definitely a nice country to travel. In terms of food, culture, wildlife, sea beaches, mountains, transportation, scenic beauty, adventure, security systems, ...... Malaysia rocks. As compared to other SEA region (Philippine, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Brunei), Malaysia is the best and awesome.
thank you sir
I just moved here from the USA and you are so correct. I love it here and feel way safer than in the usa. Thanks for the tips.
Welcome to malaysia
Definitely a safety measure to avoid any complications at school. It's been such a worrying subject about school shooting. Parents can no longer send their children to school feeling with ease. Though you might find it hard to adapt, I hope you're enjoying your life here.
Is it easy to find a job as a foreigner ?
@@utilisateurgmail2133 depends on the type of visa you’re holding. You’re not allowed to work on a tourist or study visa.
@@immortalwitch never heard of school shootings in Malaysia.
I lost it at ‘not having to worry about being shot at a grocery store’ 😂
It means....being mugged are rare in between...
We are spending time with our family now and may not have time to respond to comments. Please keep comments respectful and relevant, thank you!
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🥰🥰🥰
I hope you can come and stay here. Don't forget us at Sarawak and Sabah.
For no.7 .....here the local tips....just hold show ur hand palm towards driver they will slow down....that the greatest superpower we had...by doing so...car will slower,we are able to pass roadblock even cut the line at cashier...😅😅😅
😍😍😍
By the way common for eating with our fingers is right but not everyone does it. Mostly muslims but there are also some muslims that don't. Just a fact😁
All these points is the reason why I am planning to retire in Malaysia - it's a win-win situation
You are welcome to Malaysia
Come here you won't be dissapointed unless you are looking for entertainment since it is a muslim country
@@akmalrusydi2730 I have been to Malaysia 5 times already and I am a Muslim from the UK - love Malaysia, the country and its people
if you want to retire in malaysia, come to penang.. around 350k dollars, u can get a sea front view condo around that price..
@@borutopicks2076 I have been to Penang and liked it so I could consider it - thanks for your tips, very much appreciated
I visited in 1998 and 1999 and thoroughly enjoyed it. Asia in one country. Fascinating country and food was wonderful.
This has to be one of the best presented overviews of Malaysia - succinct and on point. I've enjoyed all your videos and look forward to more of your adventures. Take care, stay safe. Tq
Thank you very much for these kind words!
Absolutely top class long list. Accurate and easy. Tq for keeping our mco life with very nice and informative video. Love it..
Thank you for this very nice comment.
This is such a great list! Been really enjoying your Malaysia recap and realization videos. We always appreciated having the sink nearby, especially when eating with our fingers.
Great content well presented. Agree with your observations and respect to the Malaysian people for making it a great country.
Yes, I agree...very good content, keep it your good work👍👍👍 I am a Malaysian, watching your video makes me more appreciative being a Malaysian, alhamdulillah
One of the most genuine tips for travelers to Malaysia on KZhead. Keep up good job!
Really helpful list. Malaysia is a county I definitely want to check out as a possible ExPat destination. You have condensed a lot of helpful information into this summary.
It's an awesome country if you can handle the heat and humidity. All the points here were spot on.
yeah..come here man..eventho its a majority muslim country..it still very liberal..
Mind telling me what is expat? Is it a thing? Or a place? Or a coffee places? Im Malaysian but I don't know what it is and the idea of its existence at all
@@abc18800 It generally mean anyone who is living outside their native country. It's mostly used for people who retire and then live in a different country. For instance, you may see an older English couple who living in Malaysia, they would be considered Expats. Also, a company may send employees to live/work in another country, they would be considered Expats.
@@brianlingg5518nice... thanks sir.
As someone from Malaysia living in US, opposite problem with clothing sizes. Sometimes shop in teenager section for pants length.
You can also take long ipants to a tailor (Alterations).
Such an informative video. I am from Malaysia but moved to US years ago. I personally have never seen the bathrooms with the shower and toilet without a wall between. Chichak or geckos as you mentioned are great for keeping flies and mosquitoes away. They are harmless and usually scurry away soon as it sees a human. Be kind to them. A lot of things you mentioned is so new to me and I really enjoyed this video. I love your channel as well.
Very thorough and comprehensive review. I'm Chinese but have lived in Europe (U.k. & recently Ireland) for 30 years. Fed up with the long dark and gloomy winters here, and the soaring cost of living. Planning to move back to Asia with Malaysia as my No. 1 choice. Thanks for sharing these useful tips!🙏💗
West cannot beat Asian countries, Asian are ancient civilizations that exist thousands years
The people who run red lights are normally referred to as "b*stards" and sometimes are pointed at using our middle fingers.
Very informative. Being Malaysian, I noticed that you have listed almost everything that a foreigner need to know about Malaysia
great video.Having been there many times I knew quite a bit of the tips.and it was so refreshing to have an American point out that there are many things that other places do better than the USA. btw I am Australian .thanks for posting.
Mantapp malaysia....salam dari Indonesia :)
Ayoh liburan ke sini rayyan after pandemik
Ko ajak liburan...terus x balik laaa
This video is very informative n useful to any foreign traveller who wishes to visit Malaysia, on short, medium or long term.
Informative, unbiased and straight to the point as always. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Tips #101 - Malaysian usually greets each other... Have you eaten already?
yes very true
The new normal is " Have you vaccinated?"
The longest list so far that i have encountered written by non malaysian ... epic ... thank you for visiting us 😍😍
Our Tesco already bought by Thailand company and change name to Lotus.
Good to know!
Tesco exit south east asia..like carrefour
The irony is both Tesco and Carrefour exited their profitable operations in South East Asia to salvage their loss making operations in Europe! 🤔
Was there a video made on how Americans could retire in Malaysia? Also, thanks for the exceptional content! 🙏🏻
Yes, but for some reason KZhead didn't show the link to that video. But you can find it on our channel page. Thanks for watching!
Check out Nomad capitalist. A guide by an American living in Malaysia
I have been two times there and I felt in love with the country and everything. I felt like I was in my home. But now is so difficult to go since they are still close because of pandemia. I check every day on internet if they are gonna open the borders for foreigners but they are still not :( I want to live there for few years to learn Bahasa Malaya and to know more about malaysian people. I hope this situation gets better soon!
I hope you can visit again once covid is over ! Malaysians are more than willing to help you learn our language, it makes us happy that people are interested in our culture. :)
You can visit after 1 april.. Malaysia will open border and go to endemic..
Wow all of the informations are very accurate! Just one thing, durian is certainly prohibited to bring in public places but it is a huge welcome to bring into local houses as a gift 😁
#71 Drivers of vehicles of 4 wheels and above seldom jump red lights. It is very common for motorcyclists to jump red lights, especially delivery men
Malaysia also got 4 season... Hot Very hot Wet Very wet
🤣🤣🤣🤣
One more fruit season
yahh sama la kita.
more like hot dry wet flood
Really want to spend some time in Malaysia, love your channel~
I'm a Malaysian, but I watched this to guide my foreigner friends in case i'm missing some stuff
Amazing that you can come up with 100 on the list! Much appreciated.
Very well presented! I'm glad you did so with your 100 tips. Just to share a couple of tips: 1) Another Supermarket (s) is B.I.G (Ben's Independent grocer) or Village Grocer - they carry a lot of imported stuff as well. With that being said, it all depends on where one is located. 2) Generally bargaining isn't common, however do that while in Chinatown, KL. 3) Online shopping : A different one locally is Zalora. Speaking of holidays, today is Vesak day here :-) Cheers from Malaysia, wishing all of you well, safe and happy!
1. Basically any supermarket end with "grocer" you know it is a higher end place haha 2. Unless the price is clearly stated, then yes please bargain to your heart content. 3. zalora is only for fashion market.
@@alanko4110 Haha.... 😁 Well, well, you nail it to a T regarding the supermarkets, so is #2! Wait Zalora isn't just fashion - they've small home appliances, beddings, bath, and cosmetics, & whatnot too. Yes, they don't carry food stuff. Cheers
@@leneekay1 owh really? when i start using zalora they are purely fashion though. thx for the info
@@alanko4110 You're most welcome :-)
this is a very well research information abou Malaysia..you really explain it well in a short words. greeting frm east malaysia, sarawak. come to sarawak ...east side of malaysia in borneo..u will feel totally different here...we have more than 40 ethnicities rather than only 3 in west malaysia.
Pedestrian in Malaysia has the right of way only at the designated crossing area. But at other locations, depends on the road category & location, drivers will slowdown or stop to give a way to pedestrians.
My experience is both rarely follow the rules - cross at designated crossing area and drivers to stop at that crossing area.
use the power of hand..just show your like stop signage the vehicles will slow down and stop remember. do at your own risk hehehhehe
@@Danzo6333 lol
Can't trust drivers these days. They are not looking at the road. They are looking at their phones. Not safe to cross. You have to really see if the driver in the car is watching the road before you attempt to cross.
@@lordaimelord7848 totally agree with you
Greeting from Singapore! Relevant points, concise, all 100% true. Their politics are weird ... but as a living place? Good.
