Hello everyone, this is YOUR Daily Dose of Internet. In this video, a baby found a glitch in reality.

Also in this video, the fastest ding-dong ditch of all time. A pair of glasses that can transcribe conversations in real time. Someone created a lawn chair made of grass. An artist paints portraits on mountains. Someone performs an exorcism on a Halloween display. A scientist dropped a block of ice down a deep ice hole. A charity gets a ticket for feeding the homeless in Houston. A man kisses squirrels.

    • @@nozrep You might want to take your daily meds before you comment on social media next time. You don’t seem to have a firm grasp on how human nature works. My comment did not once stated nor hinted the person did not have any rights to exercise their rights to exercise equality under law. It clearly stated that he was ballsy to do so. Ballsy to exercise that right. It has nothing to do with having the right or not which you seemed to have been confused with. Whether or not someone has the rights to exercise something, it still takes courage for one to exercise it. If you still don’t understand and want to argue, just look and see why does the majority prefer to comply to what all cops asks of them during a traffic stop instead of exercising their rights? Why do majority of the cops not exercise their rights more to keep everything fair and just? Because majority of the human beings are dealing with their own fears and might not have the courage to do so. You might be brave enough to talk back to your boss on a daily basis and give him attitude while doing so, but majority of the people do not. And in this case, in terms of ranks, they were not equal to begin with, so the cop needs balls to even express his disappointment to his superior.

Why does the lawmaker suddenly care about the food that the homeless eat? Couldn't the feeder show them the receipt that it was freshly made food and not contaminated? The homeless could have dug up the trash and eaten whatever they found, and you bet your a** no lawmaker cares about any of that. But the moment people feed them something, there's an issue with that. I personally think the real reason is that they do not want the homeless to thrive in the area, knowing there's free food available at all times.

It happened once at a Memorial Day ceremony I was part of, while our band that was playing for it had three trumpeters who were part of a volunteer group whose purpose is playing Taps at military funerals. More families of veterans need to know about at least two such groups, Bugles Across America and Taps for Veterans.

    • As being one who had to organize and cover these, there are procedures in place to prevent missed funerals or equipment failures. We’ve had service members literally fall into the hole, the bugle broke, the battery died, flowers fall over, preachers are jerks to the team, and numerous others. Some of us had to sit in 95 degree southern heat for 2 hours because families are late. But we love the job and it’s rewarding to serve the final goodbye to our vets. This isn’t an easy job. Some areas are lucky to have designated teams or the VFW to cover. People will continue to complain about these electronic bugles, but we are not specialized service members covering these funerals. We are everyday shore duty. If you want a real bugle, go learn to play one, join the military, and cover our veteran funerals. 👍🏻

It would normally be charged as reckless driving / exhibition of speed / reckless endangerment, the driver jailed, license suspended, and the vehicle impounded. A mere ticket (though admittedly likely a very expensive one) is pretty close to "getting away with it". And all the citing officer has to do to let him all the way off the hook is simply not show up to the hearing. Automatic dismissal.

    • There is actually very sound reasons behind what seems to be an inhumane law. Part of the reason for this law being formed, was to make sure the only food the homeless received was well regulated and healthy for them to consume (i.e. not rancid or poisoned). The other reason was if you limit where the food is given, you have a better chance of organizing the chaos that comes from rampant homeless camps. If the homeless don't have easily obtainable food in their camps, then they are forced to go to shelters or rehabilitation centers in order to eat. As long as Houston puts enough money into those centers to support all of the homeless that must attend them, I would say this is a very humane way to make sure the people on the street are getting the help they need, rather than giving them food and letting them languish in a camp where they continue to rape, kill, commit crimes, and worst of all, secume to their own drug addiction. I would say this is a far better solution, than literally kidnapping homeless people off the street and forcing them into rehabilitation centers or shelters. Since that would really be the only way to get them out of the endless self-destructive cycle that unfortunately most homeless people are stuck in. Food not bombs is a very good charity and outreach group that does good work in places where cities don't put enough money into helping their homeless people. But in cases like Houston where they have a more robust program to take care of the homeless once they make their way to a shelter due to a lack of food being given on the street, they are instead acting like a rogue element that is interrupting the best way to help the homeless. Don't immediately assume a law in Texas is bad just because it's in Texas, use your brain a little bit and realize that this is actually one of the most compassionate ways someone can help them. They need to break the cycle, they need help. And one more side note, this law only makes it illegal to give out food on public land, if you own the land or you have given permission for food to be given out on your private property, it is still perfectly legal to give it to the homeless on said property. Currently the only public property that allows food to be given to the homeless, is the police station.

  • As an aspiring ASL interpreter, I really hope that the glasses become a thing! They would be such a wonderful device for not only Deaf people, but also people who would benefit from having real-time captions! It’s such a good idea.

    • I struggle with hearing what the person in front of me are saying when there are lot of people talking around me. It is VERY annoying not able to filter out noises, especially when someone you are talking with have a natural soft low voice. I would certainly buy one of these glasses as long they aren't super expensive.

    • Sometimes when people are talking and there’s another strong noise around, it’s kinda hard to focus on the person talking, but if I could read the words too, I feel like I’d definitely be able to focus better. However, I already wear prescription glasses, so I don’t think that it would be a possibility unless I got lasic or contacts.

    • @@person.4027 Best device I have found to help is earplug called Loop Engage, it doesn't fix the problem entirely but it helps as it shutout some of the noises. But I would really liked to have those glasses in order to follow the conversation with ease.
