Great memories. At least a 7 out of 10 every week. Scored some bangers with both feet. 1 England cap. Him and Beckham were the best crossers in the league for about 3 years. Class act.
Had a season ticket on the front row of the Carling Stand, and got to see Steve in his prime. It was like watching Arjen Robben. You knew he was cutting in, but you didn't know when. Every so often he'd curl one into the far corner. I never had the pleasure of meeting Steve, but my mother ran into him and Lennon in town, and Lennon was trying it on with her (so I'm told). She told Lenny to piss off, and told me he was a complete arsehole, but Guppy was a lovely man 😂 Very fond memories of watching Steve playing for us. It's criminal that he was only capped once for England. He was the best left winger in the country for a long time.
All very good wish thay were playing for leicester now😊
