I was curious, so I decided to look up this game on Steam. It turns out it was not made in affiliation with Bennett Foddy, but rather by an individual who enjoyed both Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy and the earlier inspiration game Sexy Hiking. Apparently the creator of this was disappointed that Getting Over It didn't inspire countless clones, so they took it upon themselves to make their own homage. I like that "take it in your own hands" approach, so kudos to them. Unrelated, this game does remind me of something I used to do with friends in the game Human Fall Flat where we would try to sequence break puzzles and go strange places by using a similar hand-over-hand climbing style. This game is WAY more functional for that, though!

Look up GIRP by Bennett Foddy, it's bascically this game buy with the art style of QWOP. So I'm honestly now sure how to feel about this game, is it inspired or just a straight rip off? But if Bennett Foddy wants people to make clones, I guess he'd be happy with this?

Bouldering is climbing on 10-20ft walls with about 5 moves to complete the course, top-roping and TRAD is when you tie up with a harness and climb 60+ft walls. All of these can be in a gym or on real rocks :)
yeah when he said "y'know the walls at a rock climbing gym, thats bouldering" it kind of set me off. idk too much about climbing gyms but i feel like thats the worst way to explain it. a climbing gym is literally all walls that you climb.

I've started climbing about 10 months ago, I'm not particularly good at it, but my god, this game. Aside from noticing all the little places *begging* to be handholds that get summarily ignored, I also envy the player's character strength for doing the entire route no-feet.
This is for some reason really making me want to see a 10 minute power hour of the guys rocking climbing, i think it would be just as relaxed and calm as this was XD

Bouldering is climbing with no ropes up, you guessed it, boulders (so not large cliffsided). When you climb up larger rock walls with no ropes, you are “soloing” which is basically what this game is.
The Avatar mountains there are awesome and honestly the rocks in this game made me think about that too lol.
