    • Seemed like a good idea. Until I heard 'delivered to your home'. That's less great. It would be better, if you would just find this in the supermarket. To save on all the extra kilometers, which are not good for the environment at all. And how can it be, that you don't have to measure it? Than you'll have too little or too much detergent. Which is also bad for the environment. That said: I LOVE your work!!!

If the house belongs to the school one of administrators should take up residence in the house. I would also remove any trees closer than 100 feet to the house to protect in case of a fire, there is plenty of fuel there with the dried trees. I would also add security lighting around the house, this wards off criminals! Otherwise you guys did an outstanding job on the yard as usual!!

There’s only one possible explanation I can think of: It was private property, then the squatters took over and due to this whole situation the property went to the city after they got rid of the squatters, the city didn’t want to deal with the property and said “Hey, there’s a school nearby, let’s just give the property to them to deal with”, which obviously doesn’t work out if you don’t also give them the resources to do so.

    • @@shelleyharris4176Yes. The parents could (should) have give a hand. In some countries it is quite normal the parents of the school children help out with maintenance inside and outside the school. And even help out giving assistance with creative class. And with helping the kids practice reading in small groups. (Leesmoeders we call that in the Netherlands).

  • I grew up in a small town. The school owned 2 houses adjacent to the school for the coach and principle. When the district consolidated with the nearby town and built a new school in-between, the houses were forgotten. The citizens reminded them when the next spring rolled around, and they fixed/cleaned them up and rented them out. Never be afraid to respectfully call out those who work on your dime, whomever they are. Their response determines your next steps.

  • The fact that the property is next door to a school is mentioned numerous times. Apparently the neighbors weren't so scared of the squatter house that they would pitch in and get it cleaned up themselves, even though it's their own kids who go to that school.

  • Not good having a run-down property near a school. Hadn't thought of squatters, but an overgrown place doesn't create good standards and it could attract kids away from or drug dealing, near the school. Thanks for working on it. You all dove-in and made a lot of change by 6:53. (Nice detergent you found.) Looks like the front walkway was pretty lost. That is a busy road nearby. Definitely a good place to clean up and have cleaned-up, for the community. Sounds like there was a prayer out to get the place renewed. (The trailer looks helpful.) A lot bulk cut and removed there. With winter, work should last a while. Seedling trees removed, (to prevent foundation damage), visibility greatly improved (for safety), fire proofing and rodent reduction much better (with grass removal). A race as sunset was falling. Excellent results all.

    • Tall grass attracts drug dealing? You mist be high. You sound like the someone that goes around the neighborhood measuring that grass and calling code enforcement because if the grass is to tall the drug dealers will move right in.
