Pilotless commercial passagers flights incoming!! It will bring down cost, improve safety, enhance routing efficiency and eliminate delay.
I dont see how. by the contrary I think costs will rise due they have to rebuild almost from zero all the flight system. safety? the same pilot will be fliying at hundred of miles away the plane and will be safer! I dont think so. what I think is big and military corporations will make hundreds if millions for this
Any type of Autonomous Flight is extremely dangerous. Russia and China are already able to hack some of our Drone Systems and cause it's disconnect/crash. Some are able to carry on with it's "Return home" program built in. The issue with Passenger planes being flown like drones is there is no liability placed on anyone but the program, even if planes become 100% autonomous flight there will always be a Pilot or 2 in the cockpit as a fail-safe for GPS or other navigational failure. That will be the insurance of the major Airline Comps. But yes, I can see Fighter Craft, Close Air Support, Recon, and Bombers be created for fully remote operation or autonomous mission strikes. Tho taking the Human out of War, makes us even more murderous then we have been. Killing without the remorse, guilt and/or risk of collateral damage being blamed on a person/error is just am easier way to kill people indiscriminately. Oh there was a glitch in the software, oh our systems were hijacked by the enemy that caused the deaths of innocent people. Ah yes, war. War is hell, those who pay for it are often the civilians living in a contested area. They always loose, no matter who wins.

How do you figure? By remotely piloting, you still have human interaction. The benefits are numerous as military will push aircraft further with no risk of loss of life. The plane can also be used as a final suicide bomb when its munitions are exhausted. This last one will occur more often than not as it will churn huge profits for vendors.

what the tcas already exists. why isnt being used here
tcas can only give vertical commands, so no horizontal seperation, and if they other aircraft doesn't have a C or S transponder then it can only give TA, traffic advisory as TCAS doesn't know what altitude the aircraft is located at. It's a good system but it only provides information and not something that can solve that problem.

As an aspiring pilot this is sad 😞
Don't worry you will have a job for at least 50 years, plus the fact that any competent pilot, can shoot these things down in a heart beat. Oh, don't forget cost what is this system going to cost? If you think about it it's not only the cost of the aircraft but the system too. Let's face we will run out of money before we run out of people.
