Make Your Own Playdough! | DIY for Kids | Noor Kids Crafters

Salaam, Noor Kids Crafters! Today we’re learning how to make our own playdough from scratch! That may sound intimidating, but this DIY project is actually really easy and uses ingredients and supplies you can find around the house. Homemade playdough is a fun craft because it’s so satisfying to make, you can pick any color you want, and you can play, sculpt, and fidget with your playdough for a long time after you make it!
For this awesome DIY project, we’ll need:
- 1 Cup of Flour
- 1 Cup of Water
- ⅓ Cup of Salt
- 1 Tablespoon of Vegetable Oil
- 2 Teaspoons of Cream of Tartar
- Food Coloring
- Wax Paper
- A Grown-Up's Help!
Ellen’s Pro Tips:
- You can add food coloring at a lot of different points: into the flour & water mix, on the stovetop while it’s liquid, and even into the water itself!
- Make sure you have a grown-up with you to help with the stovetop.
- Soak the pot in the sink as soon as you take out the playdough. The dough dissolves in water, but it’s much easier to clean off when it’s not dry.
