  • Usyk just has his number. Joshua is a very good heavyweight and was a good world champ, but Usyk is just a different level.

    • Nope he's not very good at all he's been beaten 3 times now. If he fights fury loses by knock out wilder knocks him out and Joyce will knock him out. He will never be world champion again. If you think differently you know nothing about boxing. He's not top 5 heavyweight anymore he was on paper knocking out bums like pulev and over the hill klitschkos in their 40s

    • @@JC-ej1zy well I'd disagree with you my friend, without saying "you know nothing about boxing". Why is it so many boxing fans are so obsessed with being seen as knowledgeable and putting down people with a different opinion btw? Yes he'd lose to Fury, but Fury is a great fighter and champion, again a level above Joshua. I don't think him Vs Wilder is a clear fight, same with Joyce. Personally think if AJ can get himself active and in the right mindset again he can cause problems in the division, but you may be right in terms of not being a world champ again. Do you speak like this to people irl about boxing out of interest? All spiteful and angry?

    • @@JC-ej1zy Ali lost five times, and many legends lost many more times. Losses don't mean much. Even Lennox Lewis got KO'd twice, and neither of the men that did it were any great themselves. It's why a Marciano or Fury is so damn rare. No heavyweights goes undefeated.

  • Usyk has an excellent strategy he starts incredibly fast. Throws hundreds of punches in the first 3 rounds while his opponents try to figure him out. Then he slows down for a few rounds conserving energy. Then turns it up the last 3 rounds. He’s still going to win some mid rounds. Doing this means his opponent’s pretty much have to KO him. He will out punch them and score lots of points. He may not be a headhunter with highlight reel KOs, but he is technical master.

  • Usyk had a simple game plan: throw so much more punches than Joshua, they dont have to carry power but he would win by points...Joshua's game plan was to land some big punches that would hurt Usyk but he never followed up when he successfully landed. I can understand the split decision because someone may consider that heavy punches do more damage than ligth touches to the face, but Ultimately Usyk rightly was given the decision, would have been unbelievable to give it to Joshua.

  • I called this fight "the battle of the outside foot". When AJ had his foot on the outside he was in control, when Usyk had his foot outside AJ's he was in control. I think AJ did well to keep up that battle, since it probably comes more naturally to Usyk since he is a southpaw. AJ should not have tried to outbox him though. He should have imposed his physical size more and tied him up & shoved him around, leaned on him etc. I think Fury will toss him around like a rag doll and sap his speed and engine. It ends one of 2 ways - Fury KOs an exhausted Usyk after about 9 rounds or Usyk wins on points. I think Fury wins.

    @dmytroradko5703@dmytroradko5703 Жыл бұрын
    • AJ was marginally more precise with 25% of his punching landing to Usyk’s 24%. As many in the comments raise in different ways, I guess the outcome was a battle of strategies/ game plan: Power (body shots) V Output. Joshua landed 10 of 41 punches per round while Usyk landed 14 of 59. The huge gap here is the difference in punches thrown. By the end of the fight Usyk had thrown 712 punches to AJ’s 492. Despite AJ keeping up on precision (elite), he simply couldn’t match Usyks work-rate. One reason could be weight (not saying just this, as at the moment, Usyk is the best overall boxer). The advantage of being a light exceptional cruiserweight paid dividend against an exceptional power puncher. Unfortunate AJ got emotional as we can see him improving since Ruiz. he has a chance to explore how he can close the gap on output. Considering Usyk’s extensive amateur career and his dominance in the first fight, AJ matched up better than I expected the second time. If he can sit his jabs like Fury or throw more than 2 combo power shots like Lennox, smaller fighters with quicker hands won’t keep causing him problems. He outran Ruiz but not Usyk, as the latter could also move. He needs his ‘Emmanuel Stewart’- a coach that tweak mid-career and up the gear.

  • This fight was closer than the scorecards state. Can't take it away from Usyk he is exceptional. Joshua wasn't that far off the mark, he needs to loosen up and let those hands go. I guarantee Fury will take the centre of the ring and push Usyk into the corner and unload. Joshua just needs to reset and have a few confidence-building fights and get his footwork going.

    • It certainly was not closer than the scorecards state, one judge gave it to AJ and the other two judges only had it a round or two between them - despite it being a fairly clear UD for usyk

      @ViicSee@ViicSee Жыл бұрын
    • @@ViicSee you state it was an clear UD which is in your opinion, but it was a split decision by fact. The other judges had Usyk winning by 2&3 rds only. There were rounds they could have been nip and tuck either way. So yes it could have been closer. Usyk did enough to win in the later rounds to get the win on two cards it could have been closer on the card to the point of a round if you want to be pedantic. However, Joshua's performance was loads better and fell slightly short against pound-for-pound great which is no great shame.
