I must have seen this a dozen times. Cried every performance.
Same with me. Though I am 40 year old man. I feel part of her pain.
She truly was singing from the heart. Her performance is something that is so unbelievably genuine. The story was told and I could feel every emotion. Truly one of the best creative productions of this song ever. From her style, the visuals and the minor arrangement. I'm so blessed to have heard this.

My wife just said it best, Its as if a deity is showing you heavan and hell at the same time.
She sings this like an operatic aria.......Diana was abused and abandoned as a child......became mute...... and raised in a Russian orphanage ........Her adoptive Mum used singing and voice lessons to help Diana overcome the trauma of her earliest years.......Diana is a natural Contralto which, as you know, is the lowest female vocalist's register....this performance alone should make us all recognize and appreciate the talent of performers from the "world music" genre
Diana has such a wonderful voice. Loved the song. I wish there were someone that was composing music for her the way Igor does for Dimash. I do hope someone helps her get the attention that will really help her. These contests are OK but I think she could do a lot better than covering other singers music.

So funny, when most female reactors watch this, the first thing they talk about is Diana's dress. When most men react to it, they comment on Diana's voice. Hmm. The power in this performance goes inside you, takes control of you., my God what a voice ~! You can see the tears in Diana's eyes near the end. And if you would have had the English translation one , and watched this after she finishes, the judges,(which are the other performers on this program) they all individually comment on how the energy went right through them and brought them to tears. Diana responded to that by saying, " It brought me to tears too, and I'm still trembling" . That's how much she put into this song.

Hi from Texas, Jennifer! The most beautiful voice in the world keeps getting better! As soon as she gets more fluent with English, then then world will be hers. She is perfect for movie soundtracks and Broadway musicals. I would pay a lot of money to see her on Broadway! And that tone! OMG!!

@@JenniferGlatzhofer Broadway and West End London. There is another precocious young singer who should be destined for the Musicals as well; British Coloratura Lucy Thomas. If you haven't heard this incredible young singer, you owe it to yourself to do an analysis of her massive talent.
You might be surprised to know that breathy effect is an overtone. Her folds are fully engaged and that breathy/smokey effect is being produced by the shape of her hard palate. You don't often get a good look at the roof of her mouth but her hard palate is like a high vaulted ceiling. An extra resonating space that people with High Arched Palate have. It does affect diction in every language, even her native language. There is a habit for consonants to just disappear and it'll sound like a bunch of vowels. You can compensate for that but you would lose a lot of resonance since you'd have to speak from a different placement. That would carry over with singing, of course.

In that last part where she belts, if you drop the music, you can almost here 2 distinct voices…but it’s all her. She is creating 2 voices and 2 tones with just her voice. That last part after the high tones just blows me away every time.

She is on another show and the people you see reacting to in this video are some of her competitors, the one who stood up is an opera singer. She has these songs now on her channel, English translation for the two she sings in Russian which you will want to react to. “Momma I’m dancing” and “Oh, it’s not evening yet”, the first one is a new very upbeat song that was done by two young ladies that had over 220 million views (gives you an idea of how popular it was) and the second is another folk lore song that is very moving. Greetings from Scotland! Hey Jennifer, it's been a while since you knocked on Diana's door! I'm so glad you described this as "simple" during your analysis. Diana had no choice in the song she was allocated. As part of the contest each of the contestants (the ones who gave her a standing ovation!) are given a song to perform each week, to the best of their ability. Diana took just 2 lines of the chorus, she slowed it down, darkened it, put a lot of emotion in it, then slowly stepped it up to the high crescendo before exploding into the finale with massive power and finished on a final high note. WOW! In my opinion, a stroke of genius with what was a very simple 2 lines of a classic old song! Great reaction, Great analysis! Thank you Jennifer, don't be a stranger eh? The flood of emotions I felt when I first heard this is indescribable. Plus, I’m not musically trained by any means but I have a phenomenal ear for music. Her voice is so unique. The tones she creates in different areas of of mouth/throat/nasal passage is such a magical blend. Plus, in the first half of this song, I swear I can hear undertones. Sorta like polyphonic. Am I wrong?

В рамках конкурса каждой из участниц (те, кто аплодировал стоя!) Каждую неделю дается по песне, которую они должны исполнять в меру своих возможностей. Диана взяла всего 2 строчки припева, она замедлила его, затемнила, вложила в него много эмоций, затем медленно подняла его до высокого крещендо, прежде чем взорваться в финале с огромной мощью и закончить на последней высокой ноте. УХ ТЫ! На мой взгляд, это гениальный ход с двумя очень простыми строчками классической старой песни! Отличная реакция, отличный анализ! Спасибо, Дженнифер, не будь чужим, а? I always do that, reactor and singers languages. However, KZhead kept deleting the dual language comment so I did 2 comments. One English and one Russian, check the comments to see both. If I don't translate my comments, Russian friends complain, so it has become a tradition. ----------- Вы знаете, Сергей, это действительно хороший вопрос! @@NewLauri вообще-то, практически все реакции именно так делаются: я просмотрел их несколько десятков (большинство - именно на песни Дианы), и лишь пару раз песня была полностью прослушана, а потом шли комментарии автора или авторов ролика.
