VIDEO INTRODUCTION:
Hi everybody,
If you are someone who wants to learn how to build a legendary brand in a market full of Sharks, then this episode is for you!! Because the story that I am about to tell you today is the story of a 17 year old boy who had no money, no brand value and no investor backing and yet he went on to build a 2000 crore dairy business and that too in the presence of so many competitors!!
Now just so you know, the milk industry is one of the most brutal industries in the country, because your product will perish in 4 days, your margins are hardly 3-5% and if you dont move your inventory fast enough, you will be out of business in no time!!
Secondly, during that time, Amul was the pioneer of the white revolution of India. So much so that, in the 1960s India, if you look at this graph, we were importing 5 lakh tonnes of milk powder!!! but by 1990s, we became a net exporter of milk powder!!
This was the effect of the White Revolution on India!!
So during this time, all these giant milk brands and cooperatives had the perfect recipe for domination which were money, brand value and technology, whereas this 17 year old boy neither had money nor did he have the technology to scale his business. And let alone brand value nobody knew he even existed!! This boy that I am talking about is a one of the most underrated entrepreneurs of India who goes by the name Satish Kumar and the brand that he built is none other than Milkymist!! And Today, Milky Mist is such a successful brand that they sell 2000 cr worth of dairy products all across india!!
So in this episode, lets go deep and find out,
How did a 17 year old build a 2000 cr business?
What were the Business strategies that helped Satish build a 2000 cr company with very less money?
And what are the lessons that we need to learn from the rise of Satish and Milkymist?

  • Satish Kumar's journey from starting at zero to building a 2000 crore business with Milky Mist is truly inspiring. His story showcases the power of hard work, perseverance, and intelligence in overcoming obstacles in the dairy product industry. He serves as a remarkable case study for anyone seeking to navigate and succeed in a challenging business landscape.

  • I have been observing him for long as he hails from erode which is near my native and two things have stood out for him .1.His modesty and humility. In one of his earlier tamil interviews he mentioned that however despite having business worth thousands of crores,he has not bought a car worth more than 20-25 lakhs which is enough, this showed he has not got into the trappings of success and does only things which satisfy him and not what others think of him. 2.His constant eagerness to improve himself,in earlier interviews i have seen he has struggled to communicate in english(i think he has only studied upto 9th std),but his english has improved a lot and he himself said he improved it by listening to youtube videos like IIM talks every day.Trully remarkable man

This city became a hub of textile manufacturing and the important thing is modt of the million dollar worth companies present there are only started by the local district people This would be an interesting case study

  • Hat's off to you Satish. You are awesome and brave, I said brave because it's challenging to save your throat in such cut throat competition. I can understand how much sacrifices you have done and how much patience you have.... May God shower his blessings on you and your team.
