I just did my son's rear shocks on his 4runner that were seized. I put a wrench on the top and turned the shock with a big pipe wrench with sharp teeth until the metal just broke. My back hurt a bit the next day but I am old and it worked......so, win.
I just did my front struts on my 04 Tundra. I have a little over 227 K on mine. I put a K&N filter and dualed It out with Flowmasters as soon as I got it in 04. Thing still sounds great.
Those trucks sound amazing with exhaust
Just started watching your channel today man and I’m loving it man but keep up the good work and all of your trucks looks good ash
I freaking love this series out of all of them you have done.
Looks great. Good info. Gotta do mine soon. Thanks for posting.
Just did mine today. Had to sawzall the rear shock bolt off because of the same issue. Also added a leaf spring. Drives amazing now especially with how much weight I carry in my tool box !
My 1st brother own 2 Toyota Tundras he loves that truck.
True dual Flowmaster Super 10 mufflers with 4x18 tips out the sides. These trucks are LOUD with exhaust because they come with very small OEM converters.
Love Terry bro keep it up
True dual cat back straights, i had that on mine and a steady clap
33 thunder trac grips with stocks and some pipes on there next 🤩
Awesome video bro. Your truck looks good!! Good Audio and explanations on your job. Subbed!
Cant wait for the wheel and tire combo
A flowmaster with a resonator delete gives it a nice little rumble quite when needed and loud as hell when you get on it love it on mine
The 4.7 is really hard to make loud for whatever reason, even with the giant muffler gone mine isn’t that loud but it sounds awesome
@@4.0cowboythat’s false I have a 4.7 and it sounds insane with dualys
Love your channel and videos nice truck 🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙
Yessir was waiting on this uploaded ‼️😅
those first gen toyota tundras sound good as hell with a muffler delete, gives it a nice rumble
Mine sounds amazing with these dual borjas 😂
Love tha channel, just saying..... the tundra needs a lot of love, the strut level is a start!!
You got me on the marketplace looking for a Tundra. 02-06
Your a one man army,id literally need my dad to help me out with some the things you take on
My buddy has this same tundra with cat back straights to 5 inch shorty tips and it sounds amazing. Please get this
I know im late but tightening it then loosening it will help, helps with lugs and should with the bolts
Good luck with an alignment, hopefully you’ll have better luck, last time I did a lift like that on my Toyota, everything was to to max and couldn’t adjust anything
looks awesome
What did the height from the tag to the top of the fender end up being?
What was the final axle center to fender measurement? Looking to do the same kit to my tundra!
Cat back true duals🔥
How do the lifted struts ride I just got my 7.5 kit from them for my 11 chevy and went with the struts instead of the spacer I know you said the are soft but what about on the road and handling bumps
What size tires you have on it in this video? I have had my 2001 tundra for 11years …great truck.
Did you have a problem with your lower strut bolt being a little short?
True dual that bad boy👌
Might need to check the steering rack bushings. I know on my 03 tundra with 250,000 it needed new ones around 240,000 but I’m sure mine was probably beat to shit a little more than that one was.
Noti gang 🔥
I love it
How the rc suspension has performed so far? I heard the bend and they dont last.???
Say please they’ll come out. Works every time
Did you have to replace your axels with longer ones? thanks for the video
Its on its way bro!
Do you think you could put 33" tires on with this 2.5" lift without rubbing?
For the rear shocks, notch the shock tube (not the shock body) on both sides and put a pair of vice grips on it and it’ll hold the tube while you turn the nut on top.
Don’t do it when you’re tightening it you’ll blow the seals 😂
How would you blow the seals though? Unless I’m confused
@@4.0cowboy If you tried that method installing, the seal would not have anything to actually seal it would just be a huge gap.
@@zacharyblakely5923 I see what you’re saying, on my 2012 I used a monkey wrench to hold the shock in place because it had a premade notch
Luv the video!!! Just a minor correction. This are coil over shocks, not struts
i had a tundra abt the same with true dual straights no cats or mufflers into some 5 in shorty tips
Bottom control arm looks maxed out. Definitely looks better.
Do your UCA's limit the down travel? I run a 04 DC and I had to replace the UCA'S because the spindle hit the springs on the down travel
@Lmfscrew Any long term issues with this setup ? I’m interested in this setup for my 2000 tundra Lmfacrew
That special tool is called a hammer!
I think we’re all wondering more along the lines of when the muffler is being chopped off.
I chopped the muffler off mine and welded up an axle dump, sounds like a pony car now
How does it ride with the rough country suspension?
Which upper control arms do you recommend for a 2003 tundra has more than 5 inches?
From where did you buy the shocks ?
What tires are you putting on ther I think you should pu nitro ridge grappler or mud grapplers cool truck
True duals and 8 inch tips on the tundra ??
Can u put a spacer on top of the front?
So if I want to just do a level, could I only install the front 2.5” n3 strut kit?
Do you happen to have a long term review on these?
sweet! needs an exhaust. and REPLACE YOUR LOWER BALL JOINTS WITH OEM ONES! - fellow yota dude
Definitely needs an exhaust please!!😂
Throw the wides from the trail boss on it just to see what it looks like
do they make these type of struts for Tacomas? and has anyone had good luck with them??
Great vid thanks. Those ratchets are taking a beating, try using a breaker bar and giving them a break bro.
Why did you go with rough country? I heard mixed reviews.
Yooo hoping you can help I wanna order these as well for my truck I’ve got 2000 tundra 2WD SR5 Model will these work for mine too I’ve already got the N3 RC shocks on the rear
Looks good man, needs an exhaust! I have on mine, just remove muffler, resonater, and out the side with new pipe. Sounds amazing
I custom welded up a axle dump on my 05 might make a video on it one day. Literally cut the muffler off and used autozone pipes. Sounds like an old pony car and I love it
@@4.0cowboy I would love for you to make a video and let me hear it, my muffler literally rusted off and it sounds good without a muffler, I just can’t stand the droning.
@@enenra9821 we will make a video when we get the chance, we have a few companies that we’re working with doing installs so we try to fit small things in the schedule where we can! Subscribe and turn off notifications I promise I’ll make the video just for you👌🏽👌🏽

@@4.0cowboy hey sorry I’m getting back two weeks late, subscribed with notifications on. I appreciate you!
What are your measurements from hub to fender on the front? I put the icon 2.5's on my 06 tundra. they advertised 0-3 inches of lift but the coils are almost maxed out on adjustment and the ride height is still stock. wondering what my options are to level it out with the 3 inch lift in the rear.
Did you buy this from rural vermonter
I put the N3 series on my 2012 they were nice at first but after a year and a half it’s so bouncy man. Definitely ditching them eventually but they good short term
That does not make any sense though. It was something else causing that. It could have been worn springs, coils. Especially, If you were running a lift.
What is the ride like?
I noticed on the four-wheel drives the positive camber is unavoidable. You have to do an almost full suspension set up, but on my 2 Wheel Dr., first GEN all you have to do is buy specific upper swingarms.
On my 2000 tundra I put bilstein 6112’s on the front and 5100’s on the rear without a block. It’s sits pretty level.
I've been looking for that kit!! Where did you find that kit so I can purchase it. Everywhere I go no one has the bilstien 6112s and the 5160. Can you please help me?
@@juliandaniels7930 the lift was done in late 2020 before all the shortages got crazy . The shop that did my lift ordered it but I don’t from where. Sorry man!
How much lift did u get? Shock Surplus says I’ll only get 1 inch in front.
I got mine it’s an 01 just like yours…. How does the ball joint last? And what type do you use on it since it’s lifted mine has a 2.5 lift as wel and the ball joints are TRASH get replaced every 15k Miles trying to figure out if I either need a new control arm for off-road or just different type of balljoints..
Gotta use Toyota LBJ's, I was doing the same thing replacing my LBJ's every 4 months until I didn't the extra cash and bought them from the dealer
It looks 100 x's better! But of course it will look 1000 x's better with wides!
Would this fit a rear wheel drive ?
Hey man, thanks for the video. I just lifted my son's 2004 Toyota Tundra TRD extended cab 4X4 with the full Rough Country 2.5" struts and 2" blocks. We are getting a lot of vibration and did a diff drop and carrier bearing drop with the 2006 Rough Country kit. We are still getting some vibration, did you have any problems? Our front CV axles seem to be leaking too, but not sure if that is from the past or the kit. The truck literally only has 18k on it though, so there really should be many issues! Thanks brother
I’m thinking of doing the same 2.5” RC lift kit and wanted feedback from you on the issues you experienced? Did you get the issues resolved? Was it the kit or RC components that caused the problems? I want to install this, but I don’t want problems either. Thanks.
Would this kit fit a 2wd?
I got a 02 tundra 2wd but it says it’s for 4wd does it matter ? Someone let me know
So this will work with the sr5
Let’s goooooo
Exhaust next!!
Do a video on how to remove those scratches
do a custom exhaust on that 4.7
You should look up an interco super swamper thornbird tire i think they would look good on this truck
You need to invest in a Bugger jack man! Walmart has 3 tons for 120$ HF also has good ones
Straight pipes
@lmfscrew ? Update on lift
Can 20x12s fit ok brother
Throw the trail boss stocks on it
Need sum type of black rim with a bead lock and sum mud tires
Carven muffler for the exhaust
I had to cut the rear shocks on mine bud.
Throw them black trail boss wheels on the yota
Deep creep baby
Tie rod doesn’t need a special tool… You just need a bigger hammer.
Hammer the spindle where the tie rod bolts in and it’ll fall right out
Please get the exhaust done like Larry
Make it to look exactly like larry
Wanted to ask, doesn't going with a 2.5" lift require differential drop to eliminate future CV joint / boot issues?
Nope it doesn’t.
Supposed to use the drop bushing
@@eaznutts5714 Thought so, that's what I did!
How are those n3 struts holding up since install?
Need to know 2
I had to replace my N3's after 6 months. I have put about 12,000 miles on them, 3,000 were off-road miles. The off-road miles consisted of washed out roads and very rocky terrain. I can say I was extremely hard on them, mainly carrying a lot of weight, and going too fast for the road/trail conditions. I went ahead and put a second pair on recently mainly because of cost and time constraint, planning on taking it a little easier on this pair. I'm running them on a 04 DC so it's a little heavier
anyone run into clearance issues? bought these and i installed them but i'm having clearance issues with the upper control arm hitting the spring once the car goes down, and also hitting the tire
I had to put new UCA's on my 04 DC to fix the spindle contacting the coil. I have no issues with UCA's contacting the tire
I just replaced the n3s on my 2000 4wd and they were terrible shot bot the 100 dollar ones you can get off of car wise or something lastee me a month and were shot again
I have a question I just bought the front end struts, nothing else came with them. Do I need to buy longer stabilizer links for the 2.5 inch leveling kit
On a tundra? We don’t really need stabilizing links for that small of a lift. On this gen max you can do without a drop kit is 2.5”. Next gen is around 4” with new upper control arms.
You gonna be squatting this one? I'm guessing not because its 4x4 and you mentioned off roading
little squat wouldnt hurt!
