    • Bob Ross uses a special technique where he paints on a wet canvas. So the put the white down to copy his technique. But they should have prepared before starting the lesson lol

    • Yeah, when canvases aren't primed you have to prime them. The primer is white (as far as I know, maybe there are other colours of primers), though it's actually recommend to let the primer dry for a few days, otherwise it's pointless.
